I went with some family to look for records so my experience is more for the records side. The overall space is huge. I feel like it was at some point a big box retail store that was converted. The folks here are friendly and helpful and the selection and prices are great and are pretty much in line with market if not slightly lower. I ended up buying a couple of new records as they got some stock on Record Store Day here as well in addition to their usual huge inventory of used (and new) records. I even got to replace an old Rolling Stones live record that I loved (and at some point lost in my own collection). There's a big parking lot and it's fairly easy to find parking. It was a little hectic when we went, only because it was on Black Friday.

I just sold 4-5 bags of clothes and they took about 90% of it for $30! Comes out to about 25 cents to $1.00 for each item. I understand that they need to make a profit but ripping people off is bad business. Clearly you wanted the clothes. She also said, they would take the items they didn't buy to donate it. Uhhh no. I ended up taking her measly $30 because I was tired of having it in my car. I should've just donated everything and I wouldn't feel taken advantage of. What did I donate...Nike air (black) used 2 times, jackets, zara clothes, clothes with tags (never used) & lots of pac sun clothes.

First time visiting this place and I WILL be returning to this location from now on! I've been…read morelooking for a kpop store that has a lot of diversity in terms of artists and has a ton of inventory. AND a place that sells individual photocards?? Instantly sold. I don't know any store that sells individual photocards, and it really makes completing collections and sets so much easier. I was very impressed by the middle table they had in the middle of the store that had many binders organized by groups with individual member PCs that you can purchase. The PCs are a little overpriced, but compared to Mercari shipping/fees and other third party sites, the PCs are basically what you can find at retail. You can basically justify Kandy Pop's prices with the instant gratification without waiting for shipping lol. But overall you can basically buy many photocards for the price of one album which is HUGE! I also love that they have a POB lucky draw/gatcha machine that rotates groups/sets regularly for $5/pull or with an album purchase. You can also sell your extra photocards here! If you have large quantities of PCs, you'd need an appointment but if you have a small handful (like I did), they will probably just buy your cards on the spot. They also have a wide selection of photocard holders, deco stickers and accessories, random assortment of trinkets, stationery, and blind boxes. This place is located inside a plaza inside Vietnam town. Parking may be difficult during peak hours but isn't too bad overall.

The 15% end of year discount totally helped too. They also had pickets, but they had a smaller supply. If you need Kpop items in the Bay, be sure to stop by here! The place was packed, so things do sell out, but they have a larger inventory that I can see, versus other stores. As for pricing, I don't have anything else to compare it to. ps - i think i recognized the store owner/manager. she is really nice and helpful!

Since Chinese painting and calligraphy are among my favorite hobbies, Soyodo has always been a meaningful place to find traditional Chinese painting supplies and guidebooks esp for maobi, painting flowers, landscapes, and ancient figures. I really appreciate that they also carry crafting supplies and classic Chinese literature, not just generic art books. Everything here feels rooted in tradition and care. The store also offers novels, children's books, Chinese New Year decor, vases, and small toys, which makes it feel like a cultural space rather than just a bookstore. On top of that, the pricing is very reasonable. I've even found books for as little as $2-4, which makes browsing and discovering new reads even more special. The owners are an older Chinese couple who are quiet, reserved, and genuinely kind. One of the things I cherish most about Soyodo is how peaceful and calm the store is. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, browse without pressure, and feel grounded. Stores like this are rare and I truly hope Soyodo continues to thrive. If you value culture, tradition, and supporting a small family-owned business, this is absolutely a place worth visiting and supporting.

I myself was on a bowling team named the Orient Express, and I wish I still had my red team shirt with the dragon on the back. But I digress as this has been an independent record store since 1997, an offshoot of the Berkeley store on Telegraph. Digital downloads be damned, this shop is focused on physical media...CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, Blu-rays, and of course, vinyl. Even before picking up spares at Park Bowl, I recall that moment in my youth when I made the monumental decision to switch my record purchases from vinyl to CDs. Nowadays, vinyl is making a comeback among a younger generation looking for a higher quality, more realistic sound quality. I saw these Gen Z audiophiles flipping through the long LP bins in search of the elusive underground classic their stereophonic friends could appreciate and envy. Personally I could find nuggets of my own. Albums like The Very Best of Spike Jones (Photo 10) and The Complete 2,000 Year Old Man (Photo 5) resonated with me. I was happy to see individual LPs consolidated into boxed sets like the Linda Ronstadt retrospective. Beyond the music is the expansive DVD collection of movie titles both classic and obscure. There's also books and collectible merchandise like pop-culture lunch boxes and celebrity prayer candles. I'm not sure I need a candle that deifies Aubrey Plaza, but it's good to know where I can get one. RELATED - Exploring the Haight? We're from SoCal and we're visiting family nearby. My girls LOVE K-Pop so this was a must stop…read moreshop. We came on 12/26/25 and when we walked in we were immediately curious about all the fun treasures we'd find. We saw the life size cardboard cut outs up front and snapped a quick selfie with RM, my ultimate bias! Talk about a score within the first few minutes, so I had a good vibe about this place from the jump! We took a quick lap around the periphery of the store and then worked our way to the middle. There was LOTS to see and the vast majority was official merch! Heck yes! We saw several albums, photo cards, light-sticks, keychains, bracelets, plus more. My girls were having a field day trying to narrow down what they wanted to go home with. I could see the K-Pop happiness in their little faces. There was a Photo Booth area near the front and a table and chairs for peeps to sit while their loved ones looked around the store. I saw a handful of shirts and some signed items. I had to help my girls make final decisions on their items because they were too excited with the overstimulation of K-Pop items. We purchase 8 items total from BTS, BabyMonster and Stray Kids. We walked out with a BTS light stick, some albums, a Stray Kids Karma pop up Seungmin puppy bracelet, a Hyunjin keychain and 6 lomo (business) cards for $253.66. The prices actually seemed fair and you can't beat the instant gratification, but we had to contain ourselves because we wanted to purchase more. I can totally see us coming here EVERY time we visit family in San Jose! Seungmin and Hyunjin are my daughters biases! The staff were helpful and answered all of our questions with a smile on their face, so that's a plus. One employee let us know he'd open the light-stick to check that it worked because light-sticks were final sale. He brought over some batteries, turned it on and showed us how to use it. Very kind of him! This K-Pop store was a fantastic find! When my girls are happy, I'm a happy Mama and feel blessed to give them what they want, not just what they need. K-Pop for the win!
