Barista responded that it's overrated. Baristas never lie. Now don't get me wrong, it's not a bad spot but there are way too many awesome deep fried hotdog alternatives in North Jersey. First off: The huge weather beaten wiener on the side walk was just begging for someone to sit on it Secondly: The selfie station with the quote "I got that dog in me" begs for an explanation. The kiosk ordering was fine but definitely took away from the 1950 feel. I order my dog well done but it had no snap, definitely not a ripper. My friend loaded up his burger and dog which created quite a mess when eating but he added that the topping overload was needed for flavoring. French fries were quite good and the onion rings could have used another onion as the exterior crunch overwhelmed the single onion. The place is clean and service was quick. Will I be back? Probably not.

We've driven by this place dozens of times when going to the train station and I finally looked it…read moreup and saw it had a great rating so we decided to try it. After trying it, it lived up to the hype. They offer a large selection of hot dogs with different toppings and fun combinations. My husband and I both tried the Bernie Mac dog (I got mine with no bacon) and it was so delicious! The Mac and cheese complements the hot dog perfectly and stayed on the hot dog surprisingly well. The tots were also very good! My only complaint is that I wish they had some fun sauces for the tots/fries. We ordered pickup on door dash which was very convenient and ready on time but when we picked it up I did notice the prices were pretty different compared to the menu which isn't the restaurants fault, I'll just make sure to order in person next time. Can't wait to go back again and try more things!

Dogtown is the Northeast cheat code for satisfying a serious In-N-Out craving. If you know, you…read moreknow. My go-to order is the Dogtown Burger with two patties, extra cheese, no lettuce or tomato, grilled onions cooked well done, and plenty of Dogtown spread. Pair that with well-done fries topped with two slices of American cheese, spread, and grilled onions, and you've basically unlocked a full California-style burger experience without leaving the East Coast. The Bethel location really nails the vibe. They grill the patties in mustard and serve fresh, snappy green chilies on the side, just like the classic West Coast spots. It's the little details that make it feel authentic. Milford is excellent too, but Bethel gets the edge for those extra touches. The meat is consistently fresh, the burgers are messy in the best way possible, and the fries hit that perfect balance of crispy, cheesy, and indulgent. If you're chasing that Animal Style flavor in the Northeast, Dogtown absolutely delivers.

The story goes Martha Stewart pulled up so she could try a couple of the garnishes, liked what she tasted and invited Owner Mike to participate in a hot dog segment of her show. Today, Chez Lenard has a decades old cart on Main Street and two additional carts for catering or events. I ordered Le Hot Dog Choucroute Alsacienne (which has sauerkraut and a high quality Dijon Mustard) and Le Hot Dog Epicie Garniture Suisse (which boasts a traditional cheese fondue and a horseradish sauce). After a bit of research, these seemed like the most classic Chez Lenard toppings. The toppings were all very tasty. Chez Lenard uses Hebrew National dogs which are ready in a steam bath when you order. Among the best known and loved CTSpots, this is probably my least favorite combo of dog selection and cooking technique. There's no snap and it has one of the softer textures you'll find. I understand that one of the movable carts has a grill. The buns are Martin's potato rolls, which are fine. Chez Lenard enjoys an important history in Ridgefield. They've been a source of jobs for young adults. A lot of people have been going there for a long time because downtown Ridgefield is a cool place to visit. Somebody who lives closer to Ridgefield might give it a bit of a bump because it's been an important pat of their lives. Being a visitor, I can only go by the dog. 4.5 Stars for the toppings. 3.5 Stars for the dog itself. 4 Stars overall
