Usually, the sandwich is generously and evenly spread. I can't say for certain, but because the employee seemed unhappy about accommodating the request, it left me wondering whether that may have contributed to the quality of the sandwich. Whether it was prepared by the employee or someone in the kitchen, it was noticeably different from what we normally receive.
