Customer service is always great ,they go above and beyond. However, there standard black coffee is something to be desired. This morning, I wanted to treat myself ,so I chose Dutch Bros because I want a good strong cup of coffee. This is what didn't happen . The coffee was watered down , and the price I paid was not worth it. At 4.75 a cup you would think the caffeine buzz would easily be achieved. Not so much . Dutch is T H E best coffee house in the USA, PERIOD. However, we have 5 Dutch locations in our small town of Chico California and the store on Esplanade St. is the best! I seriously take offense to any bad reviews placed here because the employees at this Dutch, are angels! They know my husband and myself by our drinks, they are warm and inviting, they make our drinks perfectly and we have no problem setting our auto tipper on our account because we know that we get treated well every time we come here. IF there are any mistakes ever, the employees make it right, straight away. They all have their own individual personalities, but they are all genuinely good people. I've never seen another business that trains their employees to be so friendly, outgoing and respectful. There have been a couple times where I wasn't having a good day, and the manager or employees at Dutch cheered me up, and completely turned my attitude around!!! i just moved here and i come here like 4 times a week. everyone who works here is so kind and patient. My drink is pretty complicated and they never seem annoyed. This is the best location in chico, please tip them they genuinely deserve it. I would raise minimum wage solely so they could make more money. I could write this review faster than the service this morning. I've been to Dutch a lot. Lived here a long time. I was only behind one car and the person in front of me along with the guy in the window would not stop talking. Even after he gave the girl her drink they still continued to sit there and talk for a good while I waited. I literally had to get out of my car to ask if I could leave because I was going to be late for work. I was generous and that was ridiculous. No coffee, all I got to hear was a conversation that lasted way too long. Seriously disappointed. Will not be going back. read more

I go here everyday, I love most of the employees there but there are more than a few times they are unprofessional and make me uncomfortable. For example, I go to get coffee for my husband and I every morning before work. At 5am this employee (skinny blonde guy with short hair) screams "AAAAH!!" from one side of the store and proceeds to run to the window screaming at me as if he was going to charge at me. He didn't stop screaming once he reached the window. After a few awkward moments more of him screaming into nothingness, he said "If that didn't wake you up, the coffee will" chuckling. Seriously, what the hell? This isn't the first weird unprofessional thing to happen. Another guy JUMPED OUT the drive thru window and reached in the car to pet my dog. He didn't even say anything to me! What if my dog was aggressive or sick? Who the hell does that? We don't bring our dog anymore because most of the employees feel the need to reach in the car or whistle at her from afar (without even acknowledging us). I don't mean just a cute "hi puppy" whistle, I straight up mean they will NOT stop whistling if the dog is distracted and will put their hand past me (the driver) to try and feed her. Next time it happens my husband is going to flip. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I've had way too many uncomfortable/unprofessional experiences here. Stop asking me where my dog is! Maybe if you didn't harass her, whistle non stop, put your hands in the car, and jump out windows, we would enjoy bringing her for a coffee run. The good employees are what keep me coming back but its a toss up who will be there so it's unreliable service. By no means am I generalizing ALL staff, its the "bros" who enjoy hanging halfway out the window. It feels like there is no accountability and it's just a big chill fest. read more

A few years ago.. i was not a Dutch Bros fan and i stuck with Starbucks because it was "familiar"...... over the last two years through i can honesty say i enjoy going to Dutch Bros more than Starbucks for several reasons. The First, it seems no matter which one i go to the staff is always friendly and having fun with their job and customers. The Second.. it seems that their prices are better than Starbucks The Third, the ones in Chico, always are doing something awesome for the community and never do it cheaply. First time visiting this location. Place was busy and lots of cars being waited on that were pulled into the drive thru- good sign. Line went quickly! I purchased the White Chocolate Mocha, blended. This location is open 24 hours and I think that's pretty awesome. I'm always up early, around 4:30 and it's nice to have an option before everything opens, much later in the morning. Dutch Bros is by far my favorite coffee stop! I prefer sweet coffees which makes Dutch the perfect spot for me. I've tried just about every drink they make and I've never been disappointed. Whether I've craving something hot or cold, coffee or energy drink I always choose Dutch! I recommend any of the Rebel flavors, and my favorite coffee is the Iced Annihilator, but don't forget to try their seasonal drinks as well! Like another reviewer mentioned, I wasn't much of a Dutch Bros fan until about a year ago. I've come to discover that I really do enjoy a dark roast, which I can taste in Dutch Bros coffee, without the espresso tasting burnt. Speaking of espresso, extra shots are only $0.25 cents, far cheaper than anyplace else in town (or that I've seen, ever). They're willing to allow me to experiment with flavor pairings, and never charge extra for additional shots of flavored syrup. What's most important to me is that even at 6am, the baristas at this location are pleasant, and fun, and brighten your day. This Dutch Bros location is probably the best one in Chico! I will always go to this one first and foremost when I need my coffee fix. I've gotten so many complicated, weird drinks from here and they've always happily obliged. The best part is they've gotten my coffee drinks right every single time, never making them overly sweet. Just make sure to sip your drink first before you leave; if it's not right, they'll remake it for you perfectly. Super nice, funny, quirky people, their atmosphere never dampens even on cold, rainy days. Keep doing what you're doing, guys, and thank you for putting up with me! TIPS: Extra shots-- if you're ordering an iced/blended drink with an extra shot, ask them to put the shot in first and the contents last because the shot will have time to cool down, therefore not leaving you with a watery coffee. I got a blended rebel today which I've gotten many times before, and this time it was super chunky to the point that I couldn't even really drink it which sucks when you pay $6 for a drink. I went to get some coffee around 11:30 and they were obviously not happy to see me come by so late. I told her I wanted a 16 oz caramel latte with almond milk. She was confused and rude about not knowing which one was 16 oz and charged me totally wrong. Then when it was made in the wrong size, I said no I wanted 16 oz they just dumped it into another cup added more cold almond milk and sent me on my way. This is something that has not happened before so I do want to mention it. After working a ten hour shift I decided to go to Dutch bro's tonight on November 12 and got there at 8:39pm to pick up a coffee to be able to work on my homework. I pulled up to the window and thought okay they close in 20 minutes I understand if they are upset I'll up them well to make up for it. I pulled up and the girl who took my order was clearly upset and rude. I could see they were sweeping and cleaning which is understandable. I asked for my coffee and she started making it, then charged me and when she saw I left a 5 dollar tip, her whole mood changed completely. She asked me how my night was going and gave me my coffee right away. As I was leaving I took a sip from it and it literally didn't taste good at all. I was like okay I will not be upset they clearly were closing soon and I have worked in the food industry so I understand the rush. I got home and told my roomates about it. Not only did they tell me they didn't close at 9 so they had a whole extra hour left which upset me even more to why she was like that. If you don't want to clearly be nice being on the job or are having a bad day just try to get through your shift and give better quality coffee next time. read more

So disappointed in this Location ... I have been going to Dutch bros for 6 years now and have been to so many locations from all around Oregon, Norcal and this chico location; this is hands down the worse one I have been to and it hurts to say that. I have the shop 5 chances (which is two more than I usually give because I am a Dutch bros FANatic) and each one was worse than the other. It sucks because I was a daily customer to Dutch bros from everywhere else I lived, needing my coffee daily but since I moved to chico this location doesn't cut it. What they need is new training and to learn what makes Dutch bros Dutch Bros because right now they are just some ripoff of the coffee that I had once fallen in love with.
