I went to Dr. Stahl bc I was promised 20/20 in ONE field of vision for cataract lens replacement. I chose to compromise reading. I ended up having both near-sided & far-sidedness. After 2 yrs of trying to get it right, I was told that I would have to pay another $250 if I wanted to continue with him. He was extremely condescending at my last visit. When I requested a script for glasses he said, "No. Your eyes are all over the place, not explaining what he meant." As an APRN, I know his tx & condescending manner is not how you treat any patient..ever. I called his office mgr to tell her about the visit & we decided that my husband (a pulmonologist) & I would meet with him. There were so many excuses but bottom line, I paid several thousand dollars to wear glasses at all times for the rest of my life. It was not what I was promised. Got my eyes done 2.5 years ago. Having serious issues with dry eyes every morning to the point I have to physically open my eye lids with my fingers in the morning or my eyes get scratched and I sit in bed with 30 minutes of tears. They were supposed to schedule follow up's after the surgery and never did (shame on me for not following up). They sold me on a 2 year 0% interest credit card with monthly payments to complete payments and been paying my auto payments with interest charged from day one and they told me that was agreement.....and just realized (after no billing statements) that I have paid $4000 on a $5200 procedure and still owe $4500 in credit debt!!!!! For over four years, I've endured a harrowing journey post-LASIK surgery, and now, after three follow-up procedures (LASIK, PRK, PRK), I feel compelled to share my story. In October 2019, at the age of 22, I underwent LASIK surgery from Durrie Vision with hopes of freeing myself from glasses and contacts. Little did I know, this decision would lead to a cascade of unforeseen consequences that have plagued me ever since. In November 2023, when I called to book an appointment because I was having some complications, I was disheartened to learn that the next available slot wasn't until February 2024 and checkup visit costing me $275 because I was told I am out of a year post-op period and Durrie vision doesn't take insurance. I had to endure a three-month wait due to their scheduling policy. An emergency forced me to reschedule, pushing my appointment to May 2024. This delay meant seeking opinions from other specialists, incurring extra costs, and prolonging my agony. It's baffling how such a crucial aspect of healthcare can be subject to such lengthy waits and inconvenience. Moreover, seeking opinions from three LASIK specialists and two corneal specialists revealed complications like left epithelial ingrowth, corneal ulcers, and corneal haze, compounding the frustration of the prolonged wait. Before LASIK, my vision was perfect with glasses, allowing me to lead a fulfilling life. However, post-surgery, my vision deteriorated rapidly. Despite exhausting every possible solution, from various types of contacts to specialized lenses, my vision remained bothersome with starbursts, double vision, halos, and blurriness. Dry eyes became a constant battle, draining my finances with countless optometrist visits, corneal specialists, and treatments. Nothing seemed to alleviate the situation. Financially, the toll has been devastating. What was meant to be an investment in my future became a bottomless pit of expenses. Thousands of dollars poured into treatments and appointments, yet my vision remained clouded, my dreams shattered. To resolve the complications, I had to get Scleral lenses fitted, which provided some relief but came at a hefty personal cost of over $2000 (Insurance did not cover because of previous Lasik). Now, I find myself grappling with a diminished quality of life, haunted by what could have been. I had cataract surgery and lens replacement surgery on 8/30/2023 and 9/5/2023. I had to pay out-of-pocket. I was told that they didn't file with my insurance, but that they would give me the information to get reimbursed from my insurance company. They had me believing that it was a very simple process to get reimbursed from my insurance company. While I signed a form allowing you to receive money from my insurance company, they misled me. They made me believe that my procedure was $11,000, nothing more, that with or without insurance, that was the amount for the procedures. Not once was I informed that they would indeed be submitting a claim to my insurance for over $45,000. I would have never agreed to any of this if they had been 100% honest with me instead of hiding this stuff. That's called lying through omission. They had me pay $10,950.00 out of pocket to Durrie Vision located at 8300 College Blvd, Ste 201, Overland Park, KS 66210. Then, they turned around and filed with my insurance company under a different name also located at 8300 College, Blvd., Ste 201, Overland Park, KS 66210, so that they would get money from my insurance company, claiming to be a different facility. While they may be getting by with this legally, it is still fraudulent activity. They received $44506.43 for those surgeries on top of what I already paid. After that, in 12/27/2023 and 1/8/2024, I had more procedures; discission of secondary membranous cataract, in which they charged a total of $15,000.00 to my insurance company. Those claims were denied, however, the office staff continued to harass me about me receiving money from my insurance company and not forwarding that money to them. I continually told Alice that the claims were denied, and that insurance sent them multiple communications regarding this, and I also sent an email to her regarding this. Then, I received a letter in the mail from Tammy Crane regarding me not forwarding money from the insurance company. I sent Jacob Gilliam a message regarding the harassment and accusations and also sent him copies of the EOBs. He chose not to respond to me at all about the accusations and harassment, completely ignoring that communication. That is not professional nor how business should be done. Prior to my surgeries, I could see clearly with my prescription progressive lens glasses. After my surgeries, my vision was still not good, and I had to come back on 3/26/2024 for a Lasik procedure. After every surgery/procedure, at my follow-up visits, I was told to be patient with my vision. I have been more than patient, over a year since my first surgeries. My eyes are extremely dry, something that I never dealt with before. I have trouble focusing. I don't have clear vision. I have floaters. I can't see up close. It takes time to be able to focus and get clear vision in seeing far away. My vision is worse now than before this process started. I have trouble driving in the dark. Dr. Stahl told me to get prescription glasses with one prescription in one eye if I desired to see crisper. I did that with the prescription they gave me, and the glasses made it worse. It's like I'm on a rollercoaster getting motion sickness. The experience I have had with my vision, the financial burden, missing work, the office staff, Jacob, Tammy, Alice, and Dr. Cheek, who continually told me to be patient, has been a nightmare. I am having to seek other medical professionals to see if there can be anything done with my vision and the mistakes that were made, or if this will be a problem that I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. I sent communication to Dr. Stahl with all of this and requested that the money I paid out of pocket be reimbursed. He did not respond to me and instead had an attorney send me a letter telling me they would not reimburse me and all communication is to go through the attorney. However, Dr. Stahl's office said that I would have services/adjustments for two years post-op. That appears to be another lie. After 5+ years of contemplating LASIK. I decided to proceed. I underwent initial consultation and underwent SBK (advanced Lasik) for both of my eyes few days later by Dr. Durrie. Costs: $2950/each eye + $100 (anti-inflammatory and antibiotic eye drops if you decided to buy it there). Parking - plenty of spaces. Durrie vision is on 2nd floor access via elevator only. Initial consultation: I request appt online and received follow up email to confirm appoinment and medical history. No contact lenses for at least 3 days prior to procedure. It took approximately 90 minutes on the consultation day. I underwent serial imagings to look at my retina, lacrimal gland and etc. I met up with Dr Durrie after all the tests and offered SBK. Preop and consents will be provided to you in a folder to take home. You will need someone to drive you after the procedure and post op follow up appointment. Procedure day: After check in, you will meet up with surgery counselor to sign the the surgery consent. You will complete your payment at that point of time. I was offered valium 5 mg to take prior of the procedure if ancious which I declined You will meet with Dr Grosdidier, OD to complete shorter version of serial testings of your eyes again. You will be given serial of eye drops and taken into procedure room. Dress warmth and asked for blanket. I was asked to laydown and automatic moved to the first laser machine. This first machine initiate the cut for the flap for both of my eyes. Then I was moved automatically to second machine for the treatment. The procedure completed by Dr Durrie is painless and so quick that even better than my routine dental hygeine appt. The 2nd-5th hr post op is more discomfort than the procedure itself. There is no pain rather burning, tearing but relived with tylenol and frequent eye drops. You can handled that discomfort easily. 24 hrs post op follow up with Dr Grosdidier showed my vision of 20/20 . I am glad I proceed with SBK by Dr Durrie and his associates. read more

I can't recommend based on my experience. They were very nice at my consultation, so they get 2 stars for that. After researching on my own, I felt like I was being forced into something I did not want, and I felt the risks were very downplayed. I cancelled my appointment the morning of, as I was very uneasy and even talking to them the day prior I did not feel they were being very honest nor kind, and overlooked my concerns acting like complications never happened when they most definitely do. When I called to cancel they were extremely rude and sounded mad, and would rather me throw my money at them then make sure I was comfortable as a patient. Essentially they told me if I reschedule after a month it will be a fee and then they hung up. Ive also seen dr stahl and the other dr there I forgot his name. had really bad vision with a family history of glaucoma, dry eyes, lazy eye, and other issues so I am very careful about getting checked and I want the best doctors I can find for my eyes. I have nothing but good things to say about durrievision. The new office is super organized, timely, staff is professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. They have tons of advanced imaging and measuring equipment and it's all done with the upmost of care. I am a professional pilot so I was worried about my lasik going ok but it was better than expected and the results have lasted for a decade now with zero issues. If you decide to say good-bye to glasses and contacts, this is THE PLACE to go! I have had mine done 22 month ago and it feels amazing. Initial consultation was with Dr Durrie himself, and the surgery was done by Dr Stahl. I appreciate all the work they have done. Over ten tests were performed on my eyes before starting doctor showed up. Dr Durrie went over the whole procedure in the consultation, told me about side effects. They have also warned me that there is a chance that this may not be permanent. Once I've confirmed that I would like to get the procedure done, I've talked to Brian about financing options and left happy (you just can not beat %0 financing). On the day of procedure they numbed my eyes (I declined taking Valium), explained to me everything once again, step by step, and warned me that they will be telling me what to do once the procedure starts. Oh, boy, those 5 minutes went by so fast. Procedure was painless, but a little uncomfortable. Once I got up from the surgical bed, I was able to tell the difference, my vision has changed. Forgot to mention that my husband was in a waiting room watching the procedure on TV with a nurse that went into detail explaining what was going on. I was sensitive to light for a few days, just as they said I would be, but artificial tears and sunglasses helped a ton. When you sign contract with these people they tell you there is a two year guarantee for the services performed. Well, I have forgotten about this, but they did not. They have called me about two weeks ago to remind that I need to be seen, as my guarantee will end in two months and they want to make sure I have no concerns they can help with. Say WHAT??? Can you imagine dealer calling you to ask if everything is ok with your car, as your guarantee wears out in two months?? I can't, as it does not happen. I had a rather pleasant experience. Initial Evaluation: I did research and read reviews before going in to get my candidacy evaluations between Discover and Durrie. I booked the evaluations one day after another. My first eval was with Discover(115th & Roe) and second with Durrie(NALL&College). Getting ur eyes dilated twice isnt fun but you have to if ou want to know for yourself. I had good evaluation experiences with both places. I had a person in training do my eval at Durrie which was fine as her support staff (& Dr Durrie) double checked her work. Nothing seemed to be lost from my point of view. Technologically, Durrie seemed more advanced. Discover showed you numbers and ranges best suited for doing LASIK. At Durrie, they pulled up advanced color coded topical map-like images and graphs to show you exactly where you are and what to expect with the correction. Dr Durrie explained every aspect of my eye from every view. I didn't like the really really bright light shining into my eye(to see the back of Ur eye) at Discover. At Durrie, they did it with an advanced camera and snapped pics of the views they needed. The pics taken with a similar bright light wasn't as bothersome as with Discover. I liked that Dr Durrie explained to me what to expect with my eyes as I aged and that there isn't a fix all type process since our eyes changed as we age. He said they worked towards a long term plan and not the single instance treatment. There was a couple pics of the front and back(inside) of my eyes to take home. Not that it made a difference but it was cool to have. The one huge difference is that, at Durrie, they use SBK/LASIK technology, which uses two lasers, one to cut the flap, the other to correct the vision(how light is directed so u see better). SBK/LASIK cuts a thinner flap than traditional LASIK which is believed to help reduce long term dry eyes. Anyone can YouTube SBK/LASIK and see the process for themselves, as I did. The closer: I got Brian. He was cool. He gave me my options and costs. As expected, Durrie was higher than Discover. At Discover, they told me my cost was based on my prescription. Before my evals, Both my eyes, with astigmatism, was about minus6.75. Durrie gave me option A(1 yr benefits) and Option B(2yr Benefits). For me, option A was right about $500 MORE per eye at Durrie than Discover. Option B was a little more but not much. For me, I choose Durrie because of better technology and the chance to have a leading US LASIK surgeon perform it. After all, these are our eyes. Who doesn't want what they feel is best? For me, that was Dr Durrie. If you do enough research, your going to run into Dr Durrie's name all over the net. I didn't get a discount or any referral fee. :-) I'm sure Dr Doane with Discover is great but Dr Durrie seems more cutting edge. Day of surgery. Currently, all LASIK surgeries are done every Friday with a followup the next day, Saturday. I was nervous and excited to finally get out of glasses and contacts after almost 20 years. They test your eyes one last time, by a Dr on staff. Then they prep with various eye drops. The wait is longer than the procedure. It was absolutely painless. You do notice a burning smell as the 2nd laser is working. They will remind you but bring a light jacket as its kept a little chilled in the surgery room. If your family or spouse comes, they can see the surgery on a direct video feed looking down at your eyes. Total surgery time was about 7-12 minutes. Total time from checkin to walking out was about 2 hours. They tell you what to expect with post op including a gritty feeling in your eyes, light sensitivity, and blurriness, which all improves over the next 6 hours. Personally, I only had light sensitivity for 30-45 minutes. I put the shades they have me on and took an hour nap. That was it. Nothing else. Once I woke, it was almost like normal, 85% anyhow. I think I didn't have as much of a problem because I wore contacts so much that My eyes weren't as sensitive so I didn't get the gritty feeling like people talk about. Another plus. Tomorrow is my first followup. I will say that Dr Durrie is a very compassionate and respectful person. Not that I spent so much time with him but body language and gestures when they talk and interact with you will tell you as well. I will update as I progress. read more

It saddened me to see someone giving Durrie Vision one star. I am shocked by reading that review because it was nothing like my experience. I had my surgery over a year ago and am still 100% satisfied. I tell people that if it went away tomorrow it'd still have been worth it after wearing glasses or contacts for more than 20 years. My whole experience was wonderful-I felt like I was in the hands of the best from the way the staff treated me, to the seamless process of going through the exam, from the luxurious office spaces to the numerous different cameras and machines that checked my eyes. Dr. Durrie was a part of my initial exam and talked me through everything; he was also the Dr. that did my surgery. I didn't specifically request him but was pleased to have the "named" dr. do my surgery. I had heard about people doing "studies" and saving some money-so I asked about it. They said there was a study that I could qualify for-and it saved me $600 per eye. All it entailed was having one additional camera take pictures during my exam. I would've never known the difference and was happy to save $1200! My actual surgery day was quick and easy. Again the word that comes to mind is seamless. It is a well oiled machine. I wasn't even nervous-previously I had thought I might need some meds to calm myself but I felt like I was in such great hands that I just relaxed and it was done so quickly! I'd say the actual time in the surgery room was less than 10 minutes. There was no pain, just some weird feeling pressures. Dr. Durrie was relaxing and kind. Afterwards I got the whole spiel about all the different eyedrops which I followed exactly. It's a lot of drops for a lot of days but it is your eyes--pretty worth some inconvenience with all the drops. When I was "healing" it wasn't too bad. I'd say there was maybe about an hour period that I felt pretty uncomfortable and light sensitive. I also did experience the "gritty" feeling. I put sunglasses on in a dark room and listened to music until it passed. My vision felt perfect by the next day and continued to improve. Cons: One thing that was kind of rough was sun sensitivity. It lasted a good 6 to 8 months. I also have some halos at night-but I had that before as well and doesn't have anything to do with Durrie. This is a long review-but the kind of things I wanted to know before I chose Durrie vision. I have wholeheartedly endorsed them to my friends and would say the same to anyone looking at eye surgery. I waited almost a full year before writing this review after my Lasik procedure. I will try to keep it short and to the point. The staff is very good aside from my follow up visits trying to talk about the amount of dryness in my eyes. Prior to Lasik I had very healthy lubricated eyes that rarely had problems with dryness, even with contacts. To this day I eat healthy and have a good intake of Omega 3 oils. Since Lasik my eyes are constantly dry and it's to the point where I would gladly pay the Lasik cost again if the procedure was retroactive. I look at a computer for a living and I am not sure if this contributes more to the problem or if I'm just an unlucky patient who got chronic dryness in my eyes. My left eye is tolerable, though I can tell it's dry quite often. My right eye feels like there is sand in it constantly, especially during the cold months with the heat on. I would love to go back to glasses and contacts to avoid this constant feeling of discomfort. I am giving 2 stars due to the staff and friendliness of everyone who works there. Aside from that, in my personal experience/opinion I would strongly advise getting Lasik. I was considered a strong candidate with very healthy eyes and vision that wasn't extremely poor. I know most people have had success operations, but in my case the dryness far outweighs the benefits of Lasik. Prior to writing this review I applied eye drops in my eyes 3 times without any relief. read more

I'm actually shocked by how many perfect reviews Durrie vision is getting as my experience is similar to the other 2 and 3 star reviews. I will say my experience was fantastic leading up to the surgery, but post op is where everything went downhill. I had my surgery in February 2014 and was able to experience much better vision, but unfortunately was never able to experience 20/20 vision. Each time I went in for a follow up appointment, I was told that it would get better as long as i continued using my eyedrops. When the eyedrops didn't help, they told me it shouldn't matter because I was extremely blind prior to the surgery. I never had dry eyes prior to the surgery and i was never warned it would be an EXTREME symptom post op. As of 2017, I am now back in contacts and glasses and my prescription continues to worsen about every 6 months. I also continue to have issues with dry eyes and i am using eye drops multiple times everyday as well as an eye ointment at night. I wish I would have known these risks going into surgery and that I would only be without contacts and glasses for 3 years. I understand your vision changes as you age, but I'm only 28 and was told at the time of my surgery that I was a perfect candidate and I met all of the requirements (my vision was stable for 2 years). My dad had Lasik in his 30's and it lasted him 20 years. I either should have waited, or gone to his doctor for a better experience. Do as much research as possible before you make the commitment and spend all of the money! I am now spending more money on eye exams and treatments for my dry eyes. Well, it's been... I think 5 years since my lasik surgery. I actually talk about Durrie all the time, I really love that I don't have to worry about contacts anymore (water especially, going swimming and losing them, or wind, or whatever dust driving me crazy) and my vision is still perfect. I'm always a little surprised because before the surgery I was pretty much uh blind - definitely not legal to drive. Only downside is my night vision isn't as good as it used to be, it might take me a second to make out what's going on if i'm on the interstate. I used to have big halos around light sources but that has reduced significantly. Honestly, nothing to do with Durrie, just the way it worked with me. If your surgery goes well I'm sure you do feel like Durrie is awesome. If it doesn't go perfectly he's condescending and patronizing about what you're experiencing. I don't feel he prepared me as far as expectations after surgery. I'm 3 months post op and am not seeing 20/20 (although he tells me I am ???) and brushes aside my questions and concerns. He also said..."well you were blind when you came here'. I'm doing what he's telling me to do to treat my symptoms and am hoping for better results over the next few months as my eyes adjust. I wish he would be a little less condescending and understand that it's VERY frustrating to not be able to see without halo's, double vision and blurry-ness 90% of the day. Hoping for the best. In the meantime people should understand that he doesn't want to hear about problems after surgery. read more

Very impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of their operation. Took plenty of time and did the most involved testing I have ever had at an ophthalmologist's office. These folks know how do things right. Having RLE done with blended vision. First eye 5/13. Day of surgery was a bit rough with a lot of grittiness in my eye, but much better the next day. Vision continues to improve. Can read computer screen with "fixed" eye already. Hopefully it will all come together when second eye done in a couple of weeks. Given my level of astigmatism I am very impressed so far. Very happy with follow-up, procedures on day of surgery, and run up to surgery. Been over a year now and still waiting for the promised 20-20 vision. Lens in left eye is just not right. Pain around edge of eye, sometimes in pupil area, and sometimes just a shot of pain straight through. Durrie Vision continually says to give things time. 16 months in, I've given things time. Next appointment is August 2017, if things don't move ahead then, I will have to rethink this experience. read more

I went to Durrie Vision for vision correction in April. I knew I probably was not a candidate for SBK (LASIK), but I knew they had other options as well. On my initial visit, the eye exam was well beyond what I expected with them taking all kinds of pictures of my eyes inside and out. Dr. Stahl visited with me about my options and told me that while SBK could be technically be performed on my eyes, there was no way that he could recommend it and that he would not perform it because it would not give me satisfactory results. (I had a high diopter and a bad astigmatism.) He recommended that I look into an Intraocular lens, which is basically a lens implanted in front of my natural lens. He fully explained the procedure and all possible side effects. I then met with the "surgery counselor". This person is essentially a sales person, but is very knowledgable about the procedure. I setup a follow up appointment to finish measurements and then was able to wear contacts up to the day of surgery. On the day of surgery, I arrived at the office and was immediately taken back to get started. They fully explained billing and then marked my astigmatism before taking me to the surgery center. I waited around 10 minutes before the nurses took me back and started prepping me for the surgery. They did a bunch of eye drops and asked several times what surgery I was there for to ensure everything was correct. This surgery is done one eye at a time, so they clearly marked which eye was being operated on and covered the non surgery eye with an eye shield. The surgery nurses did everything they could to ensure my comfort throughout surgery. As surgery started, Dr. Brinton made sure that I was comfortable and explained every part of the surgery as he operated. I felt nothing during the surgery. I was only slightly worried at one point during the surgery. Dr. Brinton had been telling me to look at various locations around the light above me. At one point, he told me to look below the light, but everything was dark at that time. I told him this and he quickly made sure to tell me that the temporary blindness was normal and that the light should reappear very shortly. It did within a few seconds. He finished the surgery and took me to recovery. I then met with a nurse who provided all the follow up care instructions. She made sure I knew when to be back for the same day follow up, got me some chocolate chip cookies, and helped me to the waiting room to meet up with my ride. I went home and rested until my follow up a few hours later. I had virtually no discomfort during this time. At the follow up, Dr. Brinton checked my eyes to make sure everything looked to be healing correctly. Dr. Brinton gave me his cell phone and home phone and told me to call him with any questions or concerns and I was on my way. Later that night, Dr. Brinton called to make sure everything was going well. The next day, I had my one day follow up. At this appointment, my eye sight was checked for the first time and I was already 20/20 in my left eye. (My right was 20/15 on the one day follow up.) The next appointment was the one week follow up and it went just as well. I had my right eye done two weeks after my left. It went even better. I had zero discomfort after surgery and asked them to check my eye sight at the same day follow up. Less than 6 hours after surgery, I was seeing 20/15. I was amazed! About 6 weeks after the left eye surgery, I was at work (as a police officer) and stupidly forgot to put on safety glasses when I should have. Something fell and got in my eye. It freaked me out because of the surgery. I used eye drops to try to flush it and it seemed to still be there. Having a good relationship with the ambulance service, they brought sterile water to flush out my eye, but it didn't seem to help. I called Dr. Brinton (at 11pm) and he helped me through it. He told me that I had done the right thing by calling him but told me not to worry after making sure my vision was ok and I didn't have "deep" pain in my eye. He told me that he would be more than happy to meet me at his office to check the eye if i wanted to do that, but that it was probably just a minor scratch on the surface layer of the eye. I was completely reassured talking with him. I ultimately took his advice of just waiting and seeing how the discomfort was in the morning. A few hours later, all discomfort was gone. It amazed my coworkers and the paramedics that I was able to actually talk to my surgeon at that time of the day. The funny thing is that I wasn't. This is exactly the kind of service I have received throughout my experience with Durrie Vision. I have already recommended them to countless friends and family. The only negative about Durrie Vision is the price. They definitely are not the cheapest. My procedure cost $3900 per eye, but I couldn't be happier. I wish I could say more about Durrie, but Yelp says I've run out of room. read more

1 month out from Sbk laser work on eyes...now this 49 year gal can see close and far away without glasses...truly amazing...nothing like going to the doc...Dr Durrie...who created the procedure. Cannot say enough nice things about the doctors, my surgery, my eyesight, and the facility.

Lie after Lie, I had my eyes done in 2012. It cost me 4400, I was told I would need a touch up in 4 to 6 years. Dr. Durrie did the procedure, as well as gave me the price of $150.00 for the touch up, for the upcoming surgery in the years to come. Earlier this year, I noticed that I wasn't seeing as well as I used to, so I made the appointment. I was told Dr. Durrie no longer worked there. I told them about the touch up price of, "$150.00" Dr. Durrie had quoted. They told me that they could not tell if I would need a touch up, until they had me come in for an appointment. Not only did they not honor the price Dr. Durrie quoted me. They charged me $350.00 for the appointment, then gave me a script for eye glasses. They said that it was because I was old, I never had night blindness before this surgery. I told them about it and they told me to take fish oil. My mother has night blindness and was given a note by her Optometrists so she could get her car windows tinted a shade darker than Kansas law would allow. I live in Missouri where there is no law on the back windows, however when in Kansas I would need the note for the window tint, in the case I was to be harassed by Kansas police. When I called on the phone, I was told they could not do that, cause of the liability. I told them it is not a law in Missouri, I just wanted it just in the case I was pulled over in Kansas. They said they didn't know the laws. I told them it is knowledge you can find very easily on the internet. They told me to email the information to them and the doctor would make the call. Not, "let us look into it", or "we will ask the doctor"!!! Are you serious? After being lied to about the touch up, being charged $350.00 to be told I am old, then given an eye glass prescription. These cheap bastards can not be bothered to do the very least. Maybe they are not smart enough to look up a law about window tint, or give a script to a patent that has spent more than $5,000 on their snake oil. I have never felt so taken as what these self righteous, money hungry, lying wanna be doctors. I remember them telling me that they did the Royals and the Chiefs eyes. Maybe that is why Alex Smith got hurt, didn't see the hit coming? So before you go to this residence of the father of lies, know what you are getting yourself into. Unless you want to burn money to be pumped full of Bull****. Avoid these, "As Seen on TV" bad breath, excuse living day by day trade school at night actors. read more

These guys are the best! From the time I contacted them until the time I received my new eyes was 10 days. They are super thorough, will answer any questions, and Dr. Durrie will speak with you personally. Professional, courteous, and nice! Fixed astigmatism, near sightedness, far sightedness with 9 seconds of laser in each eye. Afterward, I can see near and far at 20/20 with no glasses. My night vision has improved too. I was nervous but after talking with the doctors they reassured me and I proceeded with the surgery. The procedure itself was really simple and I was able to see with out glasses that night. the blurriness took about four months to completely go away, but it's so worth it. Durrie appealed to me because they had a much more comprehensive consultation than their competitors and their founder, Dr. Durrie, is a world reknowned ophthalmologist and the leader in the procedures done at their center. The staff there is so nice. Alice at the front desk is always so sweet.The day of the procedure I was very nervous, but they did their best to put my mind at ease. They are more expensive than other centers, but I feel that having the best vision possible, and procedures performed by the best surgeons, is worth the difference in cost. I had really terrible vision my whole life but ended up deciding to get corrective eye surgery and it was the best decision I ever made! I was 24 and had the SBK procedure. I get super nervous when doctors touch my eyes, but all staff were extremely friendly and during each step and thru all following visits. I was given a Valium to calm my nerves before the procedure- which took less than 10 min. I drove the next day! Never had problems except dry eyes- but j have bad allergies and have always had that. I was at the point that contacts were unbearable, and reading glasses gave me a headache. I was desperate. Reading is my favorite hobby, and I was unable to enjoy it anymore. I was on an airplane from California to Kansas City and I read about the top ophthalmologists in the US, Durrie Vision was on the list. I called around and found out for my age (63) the only way to go was a lens replacement. I made and appointment at Durrie and was blown away at the care they took to make sure that I was fully informed of where my vision was at and what my options were. I made and appointment and had me left I done. It was painless. My eye was uncomfortable that day, but when I woke up the next morning it was fine.
