Duo cafe is located inside of Inn at Laurel point hotel in Victoria. Cafe offers various type of coffee and tea and baking goods. What I got - Matcha latte Matcha latte was very decent. Sugar level was perfect. Sweet danish(blueberry cream) This was a highlight! Blueberry cream was light, flavor was on point. Dough was lighter than I thought. I liked this item! Cinnamon sugar cruffin This one was also so delicious, too. Small round croissant style dough was coated by cinnamon sugar graze. Dough was buttery and light. I highly recommend this item, too. Overall, it was very cozy and nice cafe. We can enjoy the view around the hotel after visiting cafe.

If it was not for the stay in the hotel where this is situated in, I would not have known about this place. True story, staying at the Laurel Point for a few days, I kept on walking by this place, just going to my room, not even thinking for an instance to even tempt to go in, and then one late afternoon after walking the outside with my wife, she was a little hungry, and we decided to see what leftover (end of day) pastries they had. Bought a croissant, and a blueberry muffin and had them warm up the pastries while we walked some more, and this is where it all changed. I saw my wife's eyes go big, and a smile while chewing the croissant like a chipmunk, and I knew something was up, while just holding the blueberry strussel muffin, and then I ripped a chunk off, and it was still moist, full of fruit, full of flavor, and remember, it is past 6pm, which I need to mention. Went back in to speak to the lady working there, and she told us that every morning they open at 6am and it does get busy here, when you make stuff like this, I can virtually see a line-up. I wanted to try one of their savory pastries, yet those were sold out at night. So less than 24 hrs later, waking up, getting ready to go to work, I quickly darted to this place, and at 8am there was a line-up out the door. There was only one more of the cheese and bacon scone, and there was a savory danish. Instead of just hoping into my car and going to work, I quickly ran back up to my room to drop the salty treats to my wife, took half and ran. That cheese and bacon scone is, in my opinion, evil magic sorcery, it is so good, that there was thoughts in my head that would have told me not to share that half with my wife, yes, it was that good, it wasn't small, and it was sparsely topped with bacon and cheese, this was loaded... like to the brim, every bite of yummy cheese and bacon fan goodness that screams at you and says whatever money you have left... take it... you deserve it... and I deserve to eat this! Why didn't I find you sooner, well..... I ended up on the island, and even though I was staying in North Saanich, I hoped into the car at 7am, and made the half hour drive to Duo, and this time.... they had 4 of those Cheese Bacon scones, I took 3, and left 1 for whoever was lucky. I ate one, and allowed my wife, who wasn't with me on the second trip, to enjoy as well. I only wish that there was a Duo Cafe Bakery in Vancouver, but this just makes it all that more special. I will be back, and maybe I will try one of their housemade sandwich's and coffee.

The croissants are flaky and crisp and delicious. I wanted a double baked almond croissant, but really didn't want the sweetness in the morning so I opted for a plain croissant and OMG! So delicious. I had a flat white with some cinnamon powder and sat outside to watch the morning begin. Staff was very friendly and even the front desk welcomes you to the end at Laurel point. Opens early at 6 AM. Just go there!

Wow - I didn't realize it was blue lemonade! Soooo good! Halfway through I def got the matcha taste but it was so perfectly refreshing. I came here cuz I wanted to try something different today than Starbucks. The place is cozy. Plenty of tables on the sidewalk. Plenty of tables inside as well. I didn't think it was going to be conducive to someone reading or working but once you enter there's plenty of seats and table just for that to your left. Seats are comfortable enough that you can focus but not fall asleep. There's plenty of people working. There's a long line when I came in. They serve sandwiches, patties, some pastries. Pastries are mostly vegan or veggie, of that variety. I wish they had more choices of pastries as I was craving one. I ended up just ordering coffee. Im not sure how fresh those wrapped pastries are. Coffee is just about right, medium roast. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. Tried the Moka Ball which is basically peanut butter in a ball. It's hard and bit cold. Am not sure if it's supposed to be that way. It's ok. Wanted to get a sugar boost as I am feeling a little sluggish. Ambient music is also just right. Not blasting as some of the Starbucks stores do. You dont know if you're in a club or coffeeshop. This place has potential if they just have more fresh choices. A little friendliness from the staff would make wonders and convey warmth. Hope to comeback and try something different.
