    Smoked Meat Platter
    Mark M.

Pooh and I came here for lunch today. We were the first people here but the service was speedy and the server super friendly. We both ordered the Smoked Meat Platter and a Diet Pepsi We almost missed the restaurant because the sign was hidden by trees. Our table was designed as a hockey rink. The meal itself was humongous so you better be hungry when you order it. They bring you a ketchup bottle size of mayo which I loved!! Everything on the plate was great except the coleslaw it was a bit dry but still the meal was filling and we had leftovers for later

Was in Montreal for a work trip and met up with an old coworker. We saw Dunn's on the way to finding a restaurant to eat at . I recognized it because of the pickles I have tried in the past. We both ordered the smoked meat sandwich with a side of fries and coleslaw. The smoked meat was amazing! I would just say that the bread pieces should be just a little bit larger and there would be more mustard on the sandwich. That part was a little dry but the meat made it nice and soft. The fries and coleslaw were really good as well. The place was clean but it seems it needs to be updated just a little bit. Our server was amazing and so was the rest of the staff there. Overall a good experience at Dunn's!

We have had take out here as well as eaten in their dining area and the food is amazing!!! The staff is super friendly and the service is quick and efficient :) I am obsessed with their spaghetti Alfredo, the sauce is so creamy and thick. And if you have a sweet tooth, the chocolate cake is mouth watering!

Smoked meat bagel sandwich with fresh-cut fries, cole slaw and a pickle

Dunn's might not be Schwartz's, but if you have a group of 8, there's no way you're getting into Schwartz's. Luckily, Dunn's has smoked meat that is almost as good, plus they're able to take a group. My group showed up a little after opening on a Saturday in July, a mix of Montréalers and Americans. I had a bit of trouble deciding what to order, as so much looked good, but I settled on the smoked meat bagel sandwich. Can't go wrong combining two of Montréal's signature dishes, right? I love New York style bagel sandwiches, so I was curious about how Montréal's answer would compare. When the food came out, my plate had a heaping pile of fresh-cut fries and a bagel with warm smoked meat stacked high. It was hard to resist shoveling the food into my mouth. The unique taste of the Montréal-style bagel worked well with the meat, swiss cheese, and lettuce, making for a bagel sandwich unlike anything I've had in New York. The fries were excellent and, if I was able to eat poutine, they would have made for a great poutine. Speaking of which, several members of my group ordered the poutine and enjoyed it. Prices were relatively reasonable: under $15 for an entree and drink. Is the meat as good as Schwartz's? No. But is it still damn good? Heck yes. If you don't want to deal with Montréal parking or the line out the door, Dunn's is a solid place to get smoked meat in one of the best food cities in the world.

Not a restaurant that I would recommend as a first date, but definitely something to try when you have munchies since they're open 24 hours. This restaurant is pretty new in the area. Balsamic salad with chicken was very good and big enough to fill up yourself. I tried the famous cheesecake topped with strawberries and I also liked it. Service was great, fast.

    Poutine upgrade for $4

Crazy fast service! We ordered and had everything within 5 minutes at 6pm on a Sat night. You can find smoked meat on pretty much everything in their menu. We had Caesars with pulled pork egg roll, pickle, and cucumber. We got the small smoked meat sandwich and I upgraded to poutine. It was huge! The bread for the sandwiches is terrible and the meat is ok. I ended up putting it on my poutine. Gravy is decent and the only thing that makes the fries tasty, but there are better places here and in Toronto (Lakeview). Our server was great though. He gets five stars. Overall: 3.5

Very fast service (I mean that in a good way) and the smoked meat just melts in your mouth. Smoked meat the way it's supposed to be.

If you want a really good poutine experience, I recommend coming here…read more The smoked meat they put on top of the poutine fries reminds me of brisket from Texas. Very flavorful, juicy, good amount - they don't skimp on the serving. I washed it all down with a banana wheat beer which was perfect. I tried their chocolate cake dessert because I didn't feel like going out and searching for a dessert spot. It wasn't for me but it was still pretty good.

Poutine is LEGIT…read more With so many places offering poutine, it's hard to know which one to go. We ended up choosing this place and are sure glad that we did. Came here around 11ish (after we hit up some bagels) and figured we'd grab some poutine to take back to the hotel. It wasn't that busy on a Monday morning, which was fine with us. The place was pretty colorful when you walk in, and it looks like this place was ready to serve the masses. Alas, we were getting take out, so we did not have the pleasure of dining in. The place has a decent amount of offerings, from hot dogs and burgers, to breakfast favorites including omelets. But let's be honest, that's not what you came for. No, you came here for the poutine, and what a selection of poutine they have. From your classic poutine, to the Elvis (minced steak, peppers and mushrooms), and others just drowning in smoked meats, it's hard to go wrong. My family ended up getting two "regular" orders (the person at the counter said a regular is good for one person, but the two orders fed all 4 of us, no problem). We ended up trying "the curfew" (ground beef, onions, cheese sauce, hot peppers and mac n cheese bites) and "The shoot-out" (smoke meat, bacon, spicy sausage and pepperoni). I swear each order weighed 2-3 pounds by itself as they did not skimp on any of the ingredients. OVERALL - LOVED it. I'm not a poutine connoisseur by any means, but I do love fries...and gravy...and meat.... and this place hit on all of those things. There may be other poutineries closer to you, but this one is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. CELEBRITY RATING - Ryan Reynolds

From the unique table designs to the imagery on the walls, reminded me of Friendly's back home. I ordered a french onion soup which was probably not the best move as we were trying to have a quick lunch, oops. I shared it and we used the excess broth for dunking our sandwich's in. Very tasty soup. Came out hot but cooled quick. Club sandwich was enjoyable. Would have been better probably on the bagel as the sandwich bread didn't quite hold well together with all the fixings in it. Overall a place I would recommend. Also the tables along the center of the restaurant are adjacent to another table, you can turn your head and see you neighbor maybe 6 in away from your face. Our server was good. We ordered and got our food quickly. We ordered a French onion soup, poutine and a montreal smoked meat club. The soup was pretty good, had a nice cheese top. The poutine was a nice portion to share. And the club had a good amount of meat in it. Apparently they say they're known for their cheesecake, we tried a slice. The cheesecake was rich and decadent and it was topped with the a strawberry sauce. This cheesecake didn't have a crust. Definitely good to share. Price point is good for this establishment. Seems like a family friendly sports bar.

I usually will head into downtown to…read moreget dinner, but I was feeling lazy this evening so I did some Yelp'ing around what was near me. I found Twister Burger which was didn't have a large amount of ratings, but they had a big menu so I chose them! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off a pretty wide street that doesn't seem like a main road is this gem. There's no private parking lot so you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood, but I didn't have a hard time finding space. Once inside you're transported back to like... the 40s? 50s? Whenever the soda fountain era was with the black/white checkered walls, neon lights and the whole thing. Lol. It was cute. The restaurant is fairly small and that's okay! It makes for a more comfortable and cozy feel. I got my food to go so I didn't have to stay long. Service: The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and make sure I got everything that I needed. He also helped me since most of the menus are in French. Food: I started off with their Taco Salad, but as of now I don't see it listed on their menu anymore. Anyway, it's basically their now Southwest Salad which contains mixed greens, corn, red onion, avocado, fried tortillas and shredded cheese, served with chipotle ranch. But instead of being in a bowl, it's in a fluffy, crispy taco shell which was very flavorful and enjoyable. It worked well. The name of the place is called Twisted Burger so I had to try at least one of them. I decided on the Trio Diablo Burger which is 130g beef (1/3 lb), jalapeños, monterrey jack cheese, habanero salsa, grilled onion, chipotle mayonnaise and lettuce, and tomatoes. It kinda slid apart in transport, but I was able to put it back together at my hotel room and it was fine. Nothing super crazy or explosive to report. It was a decent burger and satisfied my cravings for sure. The beer-battered onion rings were okay too. Nothing special and I don't think I was expecting anything out of this world either. Most beer-battered onion rings taste the same, so it's good that it's a familiar flavor to recognize. Value: My taco salad was $14.95CAD, my burger was $10.95CAD and my onion rings were $4.95CAD. This is a GREAT DEAL on the amount of food I had for sure. Looking for a cheap date, something quick, nothing fancy, I dig this place for sure.
