I went there for an oil change and check engine light. I scheduled online initially, and then someone texted and said that time wasn't actually available, so I had to go in later. The engine light turned out to be a loose gas cap, which was reassuring. The waiting room is ok. Basic cable available but all local channels except for CNN news and an evangelical preacher. There is a Keurig there for coffee. I didn't wait long, and it cost $102, which seems high to me for an oil change basically, but people tell me that's how much an oil change costs now. I have been coming to DUNN Tire in Dunkirk for a decade and this is THE place to get tires and service. Over those many years I have never had the slightest inconvenience or problem and when I just read two reviews of 1 star, I wondered what planet some people came from, like the guy who wanted them to stay open way past closing time to do work for him. If a store is closing in 20 minutes, they can't do an hour's work for you. HONESTLY. In addition to many sets of tires, I bought two sets of chrome rims from this store and they were cheaper than anywhere else including on line, AND if there had been any problems about sending the right ones, damage, etc, they would have been able to return them for me, but all went well and I never had to touch them in addition to getting the best price available. Lastly, not only has their service and prices been stellar, but everyone has been more than courteous, especially Tracy the Store Manager, and good for DUNN Tire for promoting a woman to that position. My brother in Buffalo told me he would never go anywhere else but DUNN tire as well. The best of the best. read more

I bought 4 tires there, the front tires went completely balled within in 7 months. Needless to say I returned to find out why Dunn replied I didn't have them rotated at 6 months. They told me I couldn't purchase just 2 front tires I had to buy 4. My back tires are in very good shape. I was a good customer there. I went to other tires shops the reason they went bad was due to too much air in them ( the center was only bad) so if you do buy tires there have someone else check them. They Damaged part of my rim won't fix it and don't take any responsibility. The lady think that I am responsible for the failure they made. I went to a few shops to fix the part, they dont have the tool to get it fixed. The valley tire in Dunkirk finally got my problem fixed for free. I would say Dunn tire is very unprofessional toward their jobs. They don't even know they cause the mistake, my gf can even proof just before I went in the shop with no rim problem. I am not very sure how they did for other people, this is my first time get serviced at Dunns and I will not come again. Just hope people can see this take a reference. read more

My brother and I went in to get our winter tires put on. Also the plastic splash guard under my car came loose last week after a car wash and has been dragging when I go over bumps, so I asked if they could see if they could have a look at it while it was up on the ramp to at least give me their opinion, and if it was something simple, I could even stop by the auto parts store to pick up a quick fastener as a temporary fix. Without even looking at the car or even being remotely helpful she said no. Then my brother asked if he could bring his new snowtires inside or in the garage so they weren't sitting out in the parking lot in the bed of the truck unattended all afternoon while they wait to bring his truck in. She wouldn't let him do it and said they have cameras if anything got stolen. We were more than pleasant and had reasonable requests. Even if it was beyond their capabilities at this location they could have at least had a look out of courtesy and told me what they thought it might be. Tracy at the front desk treated us as if we were from mars, and was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. Go somewhere else where they appreciate your business. read more

I recently bought new all-weather tires for my 2009 Subaru Forester here. I came in twice to compare tires, and I received conflicting advice on tires at the two visits. Sadly, I think the first person who helped me was trying to sell me a tire they had on promotion and wasn't listening to what I was asking for. This is the reason they receive four and not five stars. The second time I came in, the two sales associates who helped me really listened to what I wanted and actually recommended a cheaper tire. I ordered a set of tires that were supposed to be in by the end of the week, but there was a problem ordering them and they were slightly delayed. The made up for this with a reasonable discount and were very apologetic about it. A few days ago, my husband went in because he had a tire that went flat. I told him to be prepared to pay for a repair since his tires were purchased at a different shop in California. The girl who helped us purchase my tires remembered him and helped him out free of charge. She even remembered that I am pregnant and asked how I was! Although every business has their challenges, I think that this is an overall honest shop with employees that are knowledgeable and caring. read more

Was going to get some errands done tonight but it's too late now. Are you kidding me Dunn Tire? I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years, but won't come for anything but tires again. The employees at this tire store are the best! I travel a lot back and forth from LA and Buffalo, NY. As I was leaving for the airport in Buffalo (75 miles away) I discovered that one of my rear tires was going flat. Panic time! I fired up my pancake air compressor and filled it as I frantically began calling around for a local shop that could repair the tire quickly for me. No such luck. None of them repair tires. I went online and found the Dunn Tire Store in Dunkirk which is on my way to the airport. Dustin answered the phone and assured me that they could get to my tire as soon as I got there. Of course, by the time I got back to my car it started snowing. This trip wasn't looking too good at this point. It took me a lot longer than it should have to get to the tire store but once I arrived Dustin made sure that I was serviced right away. It turns out that I must have picked up a nail in the sidewall of my tire while visitng an Amish farm a couple of days before my trip. I bought the punctured tire at the Dunn Tire Store in Jamestown, NY a little over a year ago and it was out of warranty. No problem, said the girl at the counter. They measured the tire tread and gave me a $66 dollar discount on a new tire. And, shortly, I was on my way to the airport and made my flight on time. Thank you Dustin and the rest of the staff at Dunn Tires in Dunkirk, NY! You guys rock! I will shop at the Dunkirk store now instead of the one in Jamestown even though it is further away from my home in Conewango, NY. read more

I took my Grand Cherokee in for a front end alignment. My TPM light was on asked if they could fix. Was told I needed 2 new sensors. The sales person talked me into a new rubber made sensor as they would not rust. After putting sensors in I was t toold drive 15 miles this would reset the TPM system,after several trips to Dunn my system never reset and they could not figure it out. Well I recently found that the sensors put in where not compatible to my vehicle. After having correct sensors put in system reset with no issue. Of course this cost me another 201 dollars. Come on Dunn get it together!!! read more

Since I cannot give zero stars it gets one. On a recent trip in the Dunkirk area my got a flat tire on our 2009 Nissan Maxium. After calling several places we were able to find the tires we needed at Dunn and we were only 8 miles away. We were thrilled! Till we were told he wouldn't do the $1200 job since they closed in 20 minutes and it would take an hour. I'm not sure what kind of business they are running but in my world ( also customer service) that person would and should be fired! Avoid this business since they don't care about the customers, giving them peace of mind or care about their business. Beware! read more

I was charged for services that were unnecessary during my NYS inspection. I was told that my vehicle failed because of a worn out inner tie rod on the driver's side. The sales associate stated that both inner and outer tie rod ends had to be replaced at the same time. The vehicle then needed an alignment because of the new pieces. I agreed to the services because I trusted The Dunn brand. This was a mistake. The part that "failed" was only 8 months old. I confronted the sales associate with the receipts from the previous mechanic and requested the faulty parts back. Only one of the two parts was returned. I took the part directly to the previous mechanic who stated that the part was in excellent condition and stated that it is incorrect that the inner and outer tie rods must be done at the same time. This is theft. This is beyond unacceptable. It is criminal. No one from my family will set foot in a Dunn Tire. read more
