The engine light turned out to be a loose gas cap, which was reassuring. The waiting room is ok. Basic cable available but all local channels except for CNN news and an evangelical preacher. There is a Keurig there for coffee. I didn't wait long, and it cost $102, which seems high to me for an oil change basically, but people tell me that's how much an oil change costs now. I was there for an hour. The staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and didn't try to sell me anything else (which I appreciate).

For the past many years I've been asking them how they make the payroll when they were doing that for no charge. About time they were reimbursed for this service rendered...and it's a reasonable charge as they check your air filter and other stuff as well, and I do need to recharge my oil based air filter.

They took her car in on time for her appointment and also came out to let her know the calipers were sticking on the brakes we had just had brakes put on at another local garage last week and they didn't lubricate the pins on the calipers so the pads were not touching the rotors fully they fixed it and we left very happy with the service we received there. Took my Honda in for an inspection sticker. Was told it wouldn't pass due to rusty brake rotors. I…read morethought that was strange as I'd had the brakes serviced less than 1,000 miles ago. The owner told me I'd have to get new rotors and brake pads before he could give me a sticker. It was going to cost me $800 parts & labor. I said I'd take elsewhere. I took it to Nichol's Hometown Service where they checked the brakes and said they were fine. Gave me sticker and told me that rusty rotors is not a valid reason to deny an inspection sticker (rotors are made of cast iron and rust is normal). by the way, as I was leaving Madenford Springs & Auto I heard Glenn, the owner, trying the rusty rotor scam on someone else. In addition as Glenn P he's given his shop a glowing review.
