Broke down on the thruway in a storm. Tow driver recommended we call Basil's and they were able to get is right in. After waiting on roadside assistance then having to go through NY tow service, sitting in the snow etc. the wonderful guys at Basil's were a welcome respite from the hell we had gone through. On a good note on a business in town. Basil's auto center. I had my car at Basils yesterdsy to check brakes and the muffler was rattling. They called said brakes were fine and it was the heat shield that was rattling, they tightened it. I asked how much, they said no charge. They could have soaked me for brakes and said I needed a muffler. They have always been good to me. When picking up my car I brought the guys a box of Timmy's donuts as a thank you! read more

This is a fantastic repair facility that does great mechanical repair work at a fair & reasonable price. Howsumbutever, their waiting room is such an unkempt & filthy pig sty that no one I know will take our vehicles here because it just gives us all a case of the willie's to go in there. YUCK! If this place would ever get even 1/2 way professional & remodel their waiting room, we will all come back for service, and I'll change my rating from being a zero to being a hero. read more

We brought my nieces car there I used to be my mom's her grandmother's and I had a gas leak later that evening we got a call to pick up the vehicle and ends up they checked it completely out and there's so much rust underneath they recommend that we don't even fix it and to get rid of it it's a safety issue, at no cost. Dawn and Ralph are very pleasant and honest and offer up front pricing. They get you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They don't overbook so you wait hours and hours or days. I never have had to return for further repairs. Once they fix it, you forget it. its once and done. They listen attentively to concerns. As we were driving on the Thruway, I had a low tire pressure alert on my Ford F150. Concerned, we exited the highway and found Basil's from the internet. I met the manager and was helped immediately. The technician was able to get on it right away and did a professional job diagnosing and fixing the problem. I was back on the road in probably less than an hour! Helpful and fair service. I encountered a brake problem while on the road and they were able to quickly identify it as merely a loose caliper bolt, requiring a simple fix.
