I only went here bc my bf's family had been going for decades and they were helping me out…read morefinancially with repairs on the basis that my car went to "their mechanic." However, as nice as the guys were most of the time, their services were subpar at best. Things would take multiple trips to actually get fixed. All of the cars that had work done (major, expensive repairs at times) would fall into disrepair again within a few weeks. Taking our vehicles there became a money sink. They charge twice as much as "my mechanic" and do a half assed job. I can't speak for their quality control before I went there, but frankly, it was terrible in the 4 years I went there. And that's not including the lemon of a car they sold me as a "favor" which ended up needing twice what we paid for it in work a few months later (even though they thought it was a "good" [enough] car to sell me). I never really trusted going here and time after time was proven why. I hate leaving bad reviews but my experience here was so stressful and frustrating that I feel I have to warn people against it.

The owner of this place is a scumbag. Car was never in an accident. Took it to Monro where tech let me watch alignment and verify everything was in spec. I needed an alignment because I put new struts on the car. Manko basically charged me all that money to center my steering wheel.

I took my car in for the scheduled maintenance and started talking to my salesman I worked with…read morebefore on options for when my lease was coming up. I had no intention of getting into something new now but after test driving and making sure it worked within my budget, that's what happened. I ended up in a new lease for only a couple dollars more a month in something that was a little bit bigger for the family but also more efficient. I am looking at my past review from here and I am writing this one week short of two years since my last review, which makes sense! After excellent service here for my last two cars, I will be going back to the same salesman at Joe Basil for my next car too.

Joe Basil Chevrolet gave me one of the worst vehicle-buying experiences I've ever had…read more I purchased a used 2022 Toyota Highlander based on promises that were made during the sales process. During the test drive, the AC was blowing hot air. I pointed it out immediately and was assured it would be completely fixed before delivery. I also pointed out two chips in the windshield and was told those would be repaired as well. Neither promise was kept. The windshield chips were never repaired, and the AC problem was never actually fixed. It appears the system was simply recharged instead of properly diagnosed and repaired. I was also told the vehicle would receive new brakes and rotors all the way around as part of the purchase agreement. Later inspections raised serious questions about whether that work was ever performed because they were not new. When I requested documentation showing what repairs had been completed before the sale, my requests were repeatedly ignored. The vehicle was also delivered with an empty coolant reservoir, which immediately made me question how thoroughly it had been inspected and prepared before delivery. When I raised my concerns, the dealership scheduled an appointment and had me drive an hour there. I waited approximately three hours and then drove an hour home. After spending nearly half a day at the dealership, absolutely nothing was fixed and once again I was ignored asking for the paperwork for my records. When direct communication got me nowhere, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Even after escalating the matter, the dealership's position was essentially that the repairs were my responsibility to pay for. After being promised these issues would be addressed before the sale, that response was unbelievable. The most frustrating part is the pattern of broken promises, ignored requests for documentation, wasted time, and refusal to take responsibility after the sale was completed. My advice to anyone considering buying a vehicle from Joe Basil Chevrolet is simple: get every promise in writing, insist on documentation for every repair they claim was performed, and have the vehicle independently inspected immediately. Do not rely on verbal assurances. Based on my experience, once the paperwork is signed, verbal promises will not be honored.
