Greenbush has quite a selection and we found out you can also place a specialty order within 24 hours of desired pickup. Longer business hours than most other bakeries / donut shops. Interior is spacious and inviting if you choose to sit down to enjoy your bakery goodies. They also have a small area set aside as a "gift shop". Staff is very friendly and helpful when trying to decide what you want from all the delicious choices. Highly recommend Greenbush Bakery!

Since I live in NY, I had trust Yelp in finding a great spot and I was guided to the right place. In the delivery notes I asked that they select some festive items. Not only were the donuts seriously decorated, they also went above and beyond and decorated the box with stickers and a birthday message. These touches made such a difference. My BIL and sister gushed about how good the donuts tasted. Wish I got a taste! But I will definitely make the trip to visit in person next time I'm in Madison.

Based on the crowds and the number of reviewers on Yelp, Stella's gets all the love. However, based on my consumption of their breads and pastries while also comparing prices and customer service, Oakhouse backhands Stella's with a silicone pastry brush (granted, Stella's has the moistest and most flavorful cheese danishes in the area). I have always appreciated Oakhouse's efficiency and consistency. They are very organized package bakery perfectly. I never had anything smushed by being jammed in (like other places). They rarely struggle with stocking or maintaining an attractive display. I have never felt ignored or frustrated by cash handlers. These are amazing accomplishments factoring in the madness of the CSFM. My change your life recommendation is their Napoleon. It is the eclair's hotter sibling. Oakhouse's offering is a ginormous & gorgeous pile of puff pastry, vanilla cream and vanilla/chocolate glaze decadence. The layer offers dynamic and perfect flavor combinations vs. the eclair's often disappointing cream to pastry ratio. Next time you go to the CSFM... sting Stella's and make a beeline to Oakhouse. They may be -1 on product marketing, but more thank make up for it on their delicious delivery. Once you save time, a little cash and make your sweet tooth sparkle, you can thank me later.

The Spicy Cheese bread was good, but I found that it falls short of Stella's version of this specialty. They've since expanded to numerous locations across the U.S. and even overseas. Their mascot is Ollie the Duck, who can be found on the sign and packaging. I learned a few things on my first visit. All the donuts are cake style donuts (as opposed to raised/yeast, which I tend to prefer) and they're made to order. The made to order is a pro and a con as you don't have to stress that they will sell out, but you might have to wait a bit for your order. You can also order ahead, but at this time there is no app and I had issues (which were resolved) with placing an order on their website. Being October and a lover of pumpkin desserts, I had to try the Glazed Pumpkin Spice Donut. It comes glazed with cinnamon sugar and pumpkin spice buttercream. The body of the donut was heavy, dense, and pleasantly chewing with just the right amount of moistness and not too dry and cakey. Flavor was sweet, buttery, and of course pumpkin with hints of cinnamon. I loved the gritty sugar granules, but they were sadly confined to just the pumpkin buttercream island in the center. I'm always a little anxious that a pumpkin spice dessert will be too spicy or a burning spice, but this was sweet, not overpowering, and delicious.
