The owner was working that day and incredibly sweet. She had a lovely selection of tea (as one would expect at a tea house, but I'm cynical) and tea related gifts. If I lived closer, I would absolutely make a date for friends and I to come enjoy the tea house together! As for the pantry - you have a wonderful curated selection of jams, hot sauces, candy, and more. I think I spent at least 30 minutes checking everything out (my partner is a big hot sauce lover). I wasn't super excited that their almond milk was sweetened, but since I didn't get any flavor shots, it was a good amount of sweetness for me just being lightly sweet. The breakfast burrito was nicely panini pressed and had a good amount of filling to wrap ratio, containing: egg, sausage, crispy bacon, cheese, breakfast sauce (a yogurt mustard dill - it's delish) and hot sauce. All the flavors complimented each other. I could have gone for a bit more hot sauce, but I like things spicier than most. My friend got a chai frappe and chicken panini. She enjoyed both of her selections. She did mention the chai was a bit sweet, but still good. If this place were closer, I'd definitely have a problem because I'd want to try pretty much everything on the menu. While the food itself was a bit on the bland side and felt a little limited for the price, the ambiance really stands out. (I once had a Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef explain that croissants should never be re-heated because it ruins the scaffolding of the butter/flour feuille, or "sheets"). I then tried the various seats in the Danish-style cafe. Stool? No love: They're metal and lack cushions. Chairs at the tables were also metal. I settled in an honest-to-God church pew: The kind the Puritans used, to reflect upon their sins. Do yourself a favor and get your treats to go.
