I apologize in advance for this long review but this is my experience when I was working there as a barista.
Was a previous employee there. No management, lack of communication. They cut peoples hours off. They expect you to do things they never shown to folks. Some of their food like their bagels never mold. They are hard as a rock and seems like they were served to customers on accident but very concerning. We've had moments some food was accidentally served with mold on it. Employees only get less than 20 hour weeks most of the time and somehow able to keep hiring more employees but "can't" afford more hours for us due to "labor". That honestly makes no sense in my opinion.
They never set you up for direct deposit apparently. I have to wait an extra 3 days for paycheck, with is insane considering that we all have bills and stuff to pay for like family. They favor other folks there than their usual employees. No crew meals, lack of coordination. They don't investigate or communicate actual wrong doings of other employees harassing others. One employee there quit as well due to being sexually assaulted by one of the indian employees. They mean well as far as I know, no issues with them, bigger problem was the actual management crew and so on. We didn't have a manager at the store at times for several days feeling like a whole week. Being lied and disregarded of who actually sets up the schedule.
New employer manager likes to argue and cause a scene over scheduling apparently. Completely inappropriate way she talks and thinks she can step in and act like she may know about your personal life. Her name is Ann and she just now got put in as hire for management at the store and doesn't know how to coordinate her employees or guide us at any way. She will also like to think since she is manager she pretends like we don't know how to deal with certain things even tho we've been there longer than her and know how to do our job. She'll treat us like we don't know anything like she wants to feel important in ways that's stubborn and innappriopate.
They overcharge and make you drive away when you don't get the correct order right. I've seen it and witnessed it and they don't care. All their water is loaded in fluoride and they serve it to you which affects the brain of hyperactivity and neurological problems and IQ drops amongst children. There is no filternation system and they treat some elderly with some disrespect where I have to step in and calm the reasoning that's going on there. Like give them a few donuts as an exception for waiting so long since some employees there don't make any of the drinks time to time. But seems like management might get mad over that since they don't want to issue a easy fix to make sure a customer comes back again. When it comes to a business perspective, they didn't get something or waited too long. Give them like several donuts or whatever to make them happy to want to come back rather than disregarding them and telling them to leave after taking their money. It's weird behavior and very greedy corrupt behavior.
One employee there I will not named since she is a minor, but as teenagers are she has caused scenes and yell at other employees but mostly to only me to try to make herself look cool or something and lots of customers look at her confused like what is her deal and I have no clue because of it. So when I try to talk to her and reason with her she has all these excuses and talks about her past trauma like its an excuse to treat people like that and disrespect customers. Overall she has problems and is not fit for her job in my opinion.
I was questioned and treated differently over my neurological problems I have myself and had to defend myself for some reason like they have some reason to treat you they way you are. Management only of course.
None of us actually get breaks, as a sense to go get food to work out the rest of the day which is insane. There is some "benefical food" there but like I mention about the food there seems concerning, I rather not eat it. And we don't get crew meals but a 30% off discount which I guess isn't a big deal but Idk to be honest.
Also they expect us to pay for work shirts and only gave us one which causes some issues since either one, an employee can lose it on accident or laundry day may affect time to go in for work. But other dunkin places I've heard give you like 3 so Idk why they are doing that.
The "employer" manager Ann Wheeler is her full name.
The guy that runs the store there is named Andy. He yells and gets in people's faces with he is upset and threatens. He thinks since he is a foreigner he can treat others like that. Complete lack of coordination and IQ in my book.
Now this is just my speculation but it seems like I was sent home due to "labor" but they way she worded it and looked at her phone seems like she is faking that to tell me to go home.
There's a lot more but yelp limit. read more
