We also had the Rican sandwich and that was flavorful - a sweet sauce, pressed bread, perfectly cooked meat. The coffee was pressed and very smooth. We were lucky that they had fresh bread pop out of the oven while we were waiting and they sold us a loaf (usually available only in the morning). Aubrey, the young lady that took care of me on my visit, was expectational , friendly, outstanding, customer service and patient. Visiting from out of town after a 5k in Sandy Lake, PA, on my way to Astubula OH and in need of bread , and sweet treats for adopted family visiting. I ended up spending under $12, for assortment of cookies, sliced Italian bread, two turnovers and a peach muffin, and decorative cookie. Sadly I could not taste anything except brown sugar. And it was greasy. So I did not finish it. Tried the red velvet and was sad because it was just a cake donut with the same thick I icing that really just tasted like it had been made from milk and powdered sugar. On top of that was a red cake crumble. I ate about three bites and trashed it. And you MUST realize I am not the type to just trash something but it was that lackluster. My daughter said her chocolate bacon was ok but the donut itself was dry. We might try them one more time if we are over there when they open but I dunno. Will have to see

She then rolled sweet roll dough into a layer that covered the table and was so thin it was translucent. She then spread a mixture of brown sugar, butter, and finely ground walnuts over the dough. The tricky part was rolling the dough into a cylinder ( I helped with that part). The reward was a fragrant roll with many layers. Butter Maid is exactly like what my mother made, plus they have flavor choices she never dreamed of. The prices are very reasonable, and regular customers get great discount.
