Their prices are not any higher than anyone else's and atleast the points for gas and groceries help to off the prices and the employees are always friendly and helpful. The store is clean and I think they did a very good job during Covid. read more

If I could give less stars, I really would. We've been shopping at this location regularly since moving to the area in August but yesterday Giant Eagle was at its worst. In the produce department, the strawberries, green grapes, blueberries and oranges all had rotting and moldy fruit. I mention those specifically because they were all items I had intention of purchasing until then. Four of the five packages of fresh basil had brown and/or slimy leaves. All of these situations extremely noticeable as a consumer let alone to an employee who has the responsibility for that department. I also purchased a bag of turkey pepperoni. The expiration date is April however I assume when the stock is rotated they only look at the expiration date not at the actual product. When I got home and opened it. it was moldy. It is going back for sure! Despite this store being less than two miles from our home, we will be exploring other stores in hopes that they care more about their store and its consumers. I so wish Giant Eagle didn't have the monopoly in this area! read more

We usually go to the one in slippery rock, but we were in the neighborhood, so we went here. Absolutely terrible customer service. The cashier, Jessalyn K as it says on the receipt, smashed all of our food and was super rude. Even though the food wasn't making it through the circle thing, she continued to press the button smashing all of the food and after one of us said something about it, she began to mumble about "being done" and was being rude. She didn't place our groceries into a bag, she threw them, and when we got our receipt, there was no "have a nice day", she just handed it to us and that was it. Not pleasant at all. read more

Z-e-r-o customer service. Stood not once, but twice this morning at the MEAT DEPT counter. Employees too busy to wait on me, apparently. I left once to do some shopping; went back; got ignored again. Left again. When checking out, the cashier (after not saying one single word) emptied my basket items one-by-one. Why not just ring them up instead of wasting time? If the store wants the items emptied, then say so. NOTE: These experiences at this store are ALL repeats. Including walking away from the meat dept. last time. *Some* employees at this store are entitled, snippy, and lazy. A terribly-managed store. read more

Giving 5 stars to make up for all the bad reviews, which I feel are undeserved. Probably would rate it 4 stars otherwise. The store is the only relatively high end grocery store in the area, and you can tell the staff focuses on keeping their standards high. As a corporate store, there are always some bad experiences, but the staff seem happy to rectify the situation. Returns process is simple, no questions asked, with double money back if you're unsatisfied. The staff is friendly and conversational, and the service is quick. If I had to cite any problems, it'd have to be a shortage of employees. There often are too few cashiers, and rarely are there 2 people behind the service desk or in the cafe, often no one in floral. The rest of the staff are happy to jump in, but perhaps if they had a slightly larger staff things would go more smoothly. read more

They used to make great sub sandwiches in the store! The buns were baked in the back with fresh meats and greens gave you a packet of salad dressing for $6.99. Bought a prepackaged sub today, the bread was hard, the greens were wilted and no dressing for $7.99. I don't know whose brainchild it was to pre package when all the sub shops carry fresh bread and made to order. Giant Eagle better straighten up their act and go back to the old ways with Freshly made subs! read more

As first a customer and then an employee at this location, I can tell you both sides. As a customer, I was constantly ignored, not a single friendly smiling face or even "thank you", even had my deli meat thrown at me. The SEAFOOD department was even worse. This woman named MAUREEN was very grumpy with my wife and I, practically throwing my poorly wrapped tilapia filets at us, and then we actually witnessed her yelling at another employee so loudly that people all the way in the bakery could hear her shrill voice. We even saw a few waiting customers walk away shaking their heads, so we followed suit. A few months later, I needed some extra money part-time, so I thought I'd apply a few places locally. They were not only the first to call me back, but eager to hire. Of all the jobs I've ever had, this company was THE definition of "Can you perform job tasks with MINIMAL training". There was barely any training, any explanation given was accompanied by hostility and a lack of care, though there was certainly more care given about the latest gossip and who the senior workers were conspiring to get fired next. I had heard a few horror stories about some of the people still employed there; many of which border on sexual harassment and work place violence, but were allowed to continue working there because the union protects them, and management simply doesn't want to bother with the process of doing the right thing. Needless to say, neither as a customer nor an employee, I will never be going there again. read more

I was up there to visit my sister who was in town from Denver for a dog show over Memorial Day. I had ordered a birthday cake as a surprise to have at the dog show. The cake was beautifully decorated and very good. Everyone commented on how moist the cake was and the icing was not over sweet. read more

I have called Customer Service (main office of Giant Eagle) on two occasions to describe my experience with two local stores. Dirty is my first observation. Unhappy employees with only a couple of exceptions. They walk around like zombies - only seeing their fellow employees. They walk in front of all their customers, completing their own tasks, but treating the people that they are there for very poorly. Not unusual to have to self-check myself with $200 worth of groceries (and believe me, no one helped me bag). The lines were just too long. Last week I even went to the Customer Service desk and asked for help. NO ONE came. My favorite is the meat department (note the irony). One evening I stood there with two young mothers while the employee ignored us for 15 minutes or so until we began laughing hysterically - THAT bad!! Why on earth doesn't Giant Eagle invest in managers that oversee the store and I mean out on the floor, observing what is going on?? I have seen employees standing and having extended conversations while the customers struggle at the checkout - they do not care. I can't help but think that the bottom line is the buck. Although I do not love driving to Whole Foods in Wexford, that is what I do. Watch out, Giant Eagle. Kroger is breathing down your neck and this is NOT how they treat their customers!! As I told the Customer Service rep - I feel very badly for the customers who have no other option, particularly the elderly - standing in line forever while their ice-cream turns into liquid and no one cares. read more
