The quality of the product, the customer service, and the human connection is something you simply won't find at big chains. The prices aren't necessarily higher when you shop local either. Ordered our usual peanut butter total grain (sans banana) with chocolate protein, and a peanut butter banana with chocolate protein. The flavor of my total grain was awesome. I LOVE peanut butter and it pairs so well with oats and chocolate. This has been my go-to every time and you should try it if you too love peanut butter. Unfortunately their espresso machine might need some repairs. The owner Jose was in today and he remembered me despite not seeing me in over 2 years. In corporate speak, he definitely has mastered the art of "connecting with the customer." I appreciated that very much and we had a nice conversation. He provided me with a cup of drip coffee. Much to my delight, they happen to brew bustelo! Me gusta el sabor fuerte, no azúcar o leche para mi! The Alfredo sauce sadly did overpower the dish, and there just was not enough crab to come through. Some bread on the side would have been a treat to soak up all the sauce and bits of crab. The eggplant parmigiana had many layers of tasty eggplant and their flavorful sauce. I am glad we ordered the fries on the side, because they came seasoned and went perfectly with both meals. We decided to take our desserts home with us, and the limoncello was our standout favorite. There were many other options on their dessert menu that we were debating between, and we will have to stop by for more later for sure. Between the welcoming staff, relaxing live music, and well prepared plates, Robin's Nest Restaurant delivers a charming dining experience that stands out.

Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.

We saw that adding lettuce, tomato, and onions was extra, so we decided on just getting the California Burger medium, which has all of that on it. For a side, we ordered tots. On the menu under burgers, it says add fries for $5, but that is also the price for fries and tots if you order them all a carte. Our food came out pretty quickly. Our burger looked like a premade bubba burger or patty from Costco. It was cooked to our liking but it somehow felt mushy. The tots were nice and crispy. We ordered a fountain drink and a boost. For $26 for a burger, tots and two drinks I felt was a little much. I think we will stick to ice cream in the future. This place is cash only and their restrooms are outside of the restaurant.
