It's not that I've grown tired of Starbucks or anything like that; to the contrary. Though I imagine those who still follow me along my various Yelp misadventures have noticed a steep decline in Starbucks check-ins. Rest assured, true believers - my love for Starbucks knows no bounds. However, my appreciation for financial stability (not to mention the convenience of making coffee at home) grow far more intensely by the day. That all being said, this Starbucks is much like the others. Clean interior, mobile ordering still on point, friendly staff, and a readily accessible pick-up area at the end of the ordering lane. If only I could understand this franchise's obsession with cramp, tiny parking lots and bottle-necked drive thru lanes. See, this is the reason I insist on physically walking into a Starbucks to pick up my coffee. I'm afraid I'd end up raging out if I were to subject myself to the "joys" of navigating through a drive thru Austin Powers style (IYKYK). The one thing holding me back from giving this place the full 5 star treatment is how annoying it is to go into and out of their respective parking lot. To understand the complexities of this, you have to consider how the entrance/exit lanes sit directly in front of a 4-way traffic light intersection. Of which, btw, there are NO protected left turns on either side of Amherst street. Couple that with the amount of inept drivers who, for SOME reason, refuse to use their turn signals if and whenever they decide to turn left and....you see why I almost never go here. All in all, the coffee is what you'd expect from a typical Starbucks. Just don't go here during the super busy hours. I've seen the drive thru line wrap around the building before. Like, to the point where it nearly blocks the entrance. All things considered, I'm gonna give Starbucks on Amherst 4 tall White Mochas with an extra shot out of 5.

Live Free and Dine is one of those places that instantly feels special. Even though it's a takeout…read morespot, walking up felt like stepping into a mini California farmer's market meets outdoor art fair: relaxed, creative, and full of good energy. They specialize in *everything sourdough*, and it shows. The pizza was so delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian and my husband built his own with white sauce with greens and Italian sausage. Both were so flavorful, perfectly balanced, and baked to that ideal sourdough crisp-chewy combo. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. But here's the real win: it was actually good for my gut. I usually feel heavy or uncomfortable after pizza, but not this time. Their sourdough truly makes a difference: I left satisfied instead of sluggish, which feels like a miracle. We also found out the owner, Karen, used to be a chef in Irvine, CA, and honestly... it makes sense. There's a clear SoCal flair in the ingredients and overall vibe, and I'm so glad she brought that creativity and quality to my hometown. So glad I got to stop by this place. If you appreciate food made with real intention, you must stop by too. I'll be back the next time I travel back to the east coast.
