The vibe is here is much more casual than Berwyn but maybe it felt that way because I went on. Berwyn's first day. Also, Berwyn is probably a busier area than here overall although this place being along the pike is not too bad. This sausage biscuit hits different and isn't bad.

What I personally love about these doughnuts , it's the "layered " part. The croissant like mix between a doughnut and a flaky croissant. They are also big doughnuts.. the flavors are good and very interesting. I got half a dozen to try as many as I could but still left some of the flavors out. Definitely opting for a full dozen next time! Another thing that makes this place stand out , is there savory doughnuts . I got one of those too because I just had to try them.. lol. I couldn't stop eating them lol they are so good! By far, my favorite doughnut in PA. They also offer Gluten free & vegan doughnut options. Which is a huge plus, since my daughter is gluten free. She said "these are the best doughnuts I've ever had" ! The place is really nice , modern like warm Bakery / coffee shop feel. The service was great too. I waited a bit for the gluten free and savory doughnuts, but the employees were very good about letting me know that they would be coming out shortly, which was nice. Will be driving 40 minutes to get my doughnut fix any day!! Definitely worth it.

Unfortunately, the boston cream donut tasted like the chemical smell you smell from a nail salon. It felt like I was eating that smell. The sour cream donut, also great looking, had the perfect texture and the right amount of powdered sugar dusted on top. That one tasted like old fryer oil. I'm super disappointed. I wanted to love this place, but I didn't take more than 2 bites of either donut and I don't know that I'll rush back.

The breakfast is just as good. I'm not even an egg person, and I will happily eat their bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. These are easily the best donuts I've had in the Baltimore area. Better than Kneads and anywhere else I've tried. Do not skip this place!

We had a really disappointing customer service experience here…read more PSA Parents: have your hot wheel car in hand when entering this establishment. There is a Hot Wheels display with a "take a car, leave a car" sign. Our young child didn't have a car to leave, so we encouraged him to speak up and ask if he could take one and bring a replacement back after his soccer game. As he started to ask, the owner didn't give him an opportunity to finish. Instead, she immediately told him that if he didn't have a replacement car, that he's stealing. The way this was handled was completely unnecessary and especially upsetting for a young child. He was devastated and kept crying, saying "I don't steal." And that's the point, if he intended to steal, he wouldn't have asked. We are teaching him to do the right thing. What kind of experience do you want your young customers to have? There was an opportunity to hear the child out and simply explain the policy. Or even offer to hold the car for a bit until he could return with his car. Instead, an innocent interaction turned into an experience that left a young child feeling like he had been accused of being a thief. A little patience and kindness would have made all the difference. We actually went back afterward, and spoke with the owner about how she spoke to a 5 year-old. We explained how upset he was and how the interaction affected him. Her only response was, " I understand, but we've had 24 cars stolen." There was no apology, no acknowledgment that the situation could have been handled differently, and no accountability for how she spoke to a young child who was simply trying to ask a question and do the right thing. What a missed opportunity. Had she simply shown our child a little kindness, we could have easily turned the experience into a positive one and had our child come back with multiple cars to contribute for the next little person who may not have a car on hand. Instead, we walked away feeling completely different about the establishment.

I thought it was a little donut shop, but it was actually a full restaurant/bar. The restaurant didn't really seem to be open yet, but the donuts at back were fresh and coming out for the morning. There were so many options it was very hard to choose what to get. These donuts were special, in that they are brioche and very large and fluffy. We got an apple pie and strawberry cheesecake donut. We definitely didn't need two, but "when in Delaware" I guess? Haha! The woman at the counter was really helpful in our difficult decision and was very friendly and patient with us while we drooled over the donut menu haha!

Then we spotted our waitress and a few other servers vaping as the kitchen door opened. The manager was checked out as we were speaking with him. Needless to say the service was awful, so we left. As I said promising, but their staff and customer service is a complete turn off. Eat well folks! Ps. My daughter did a Yelp review right after we left but somehow it's been removed...

Tik Tok made me do it and I'm glad I did it!…read more My co-worker recently had been seeing some videos about the food at Newberry Cafe so of course we had to make a lunch time stop to see what everyone was talking about. Newberry reminds me of your hometown bakery where everyone gathers in the morning for their donuts and coffee before heading off to work. Very much like many of the shops in the Bel Air area. The employees are super nice at Newberry. Really taking their time to provide great customer service to each patron that strolls through the doors. Although it was lunch time we settled on breakfast sandwiches with homefries. And I of course had to grab a donut because it's a must, and a latte. The breakfast sandwich was just what you would want to start your day, a savory piece of meat and cheese on a soft bagel. But the star of the show was the homefries. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, crispy on the outside and a soft texture on the inside. We both loved the potatoes. My glazed donut was divine, pillowy with just the right amount of glaze to not make the donut too sweet. The latte was a little to sweet for me, but I'm a little finicky with the sugar level in many caffeinated drinks. All the times I've ventured into Bel Air I never thought to stop at Newberry and I'm glad I finally did. I'll definitely be back to try more of their yummy donuts and breakfast sandwiches in the future.
