We saw the sign .... And I told the kids I'm going. We are from out of town and none had ever had it before. Several said it was the best donut they'd ever had! I love it! Shaniyah (not sure how you spell her name) was wonderful. Such a great smile. We got donuts right off the conveyer belt. And they practically melted in our mouths. It was clean and a few people were eating inside as well. The kids loved watching the process and the hats too. The team was working hard as they had a big order going out also. We always purchase donuts from this location and they always order the glaze donuts of the conveyor, this employee just came to work and was very nasty in telling me "we don't take donuts of the belt fresh to give to customers" The people in front of us just brought 24 mini glaze donuts and they took them on the conveyor nice and hot for them and when it came to us she told us(we don't do that). When they have been doing this all the time we have come to this location for the last two years! She seems like she was very aggravated when she came in and took it out on me and my husband...We just want to know what is the rules when it is time to buy FRESH HOT GLAZE DONUTS OFF THE GLAZE CONVEYOR? We have always and have been purchasing a lot of fresh glazed donuts for many events and for family parties etc. and really would like to continue, but I got very turned off and felt distracted by that employee. Four stars for the fresh donuts. My daughter ordered a dozen (half glazed and half strawberry frosted). We must have had great timing because the glazed donuts were on the conveyor belt out of the fryer and the person we ordered from pulled them right off the belt and into the box with some type of stick. The location and restaurant leave a lot to be desired. This location is on a depressed part of route 1 heading north right before the entrance to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Krispy Kreme is in front of a large flea market and surrounded by tattoo parlors, vape shops, bail bond stores, loan places, and pawn shops. The store inside was not clean, fairly run done, and there was no clear system for ordering or paying. They also have a drive thru which we were reluctant to try since the line was long and didn't appear to be moving too quickly. When my order was rang up totaling $12.49 I handed over a $20 and was given $7 back and told "we ran out of coins". I know it's only 51 cents but shouldn't the customer get the benefit of the doubt when the store can't give change? Anyway, I did happen to have 50 cents so I traded it for my dollar back. If you happen to be heading back to NJ, NY, or even PA this is a convenient stop for a take home treat but other than that I wouldn't recommend seeking out this location. read more

I received a birthday coupon for a free dozen which was a great deal. Krispy Kreme came out with a limited edition Twix donut line. The new line consist of three donuts featuring a Twix candy bar. The flavor was there, but the donuts tasted as if they had been made a few days before and were reaching the end of their shelf life. The donuts were dry and lacked the visual appeal. I stopped at Krispy Kreme to get a pumpkin donut and a coffee. The coffee was so good, but it could have been a tad bit warmer. This was my first time eating the pumpkin donut (290 calories), and it was to die for. I wished I was able to purchase some extra donuts and freeze them. But, if I had extra donuts in my house, I would eat the donuts, instead of a healthy dinner. I appreciate the diversity of employees here in races and ages. stopped at the New Castle, Delaware location and ordered 4 honey dipped and 4 lemon filled donuts. The young lady serving me asked if I wanted a dozen. I said no, I just want 8. She said we don't do bags of 8. I then asked her how many can I buy without buying a dozen. She said "a dozen. " At that point, I just threw up my hands and said forget it, I don't want any. You could go for just the famous glazed too which in most cases you might as well get 2 dozen, that's just how good they are. Watching your figure or calorie intake? You can just settle for the 3 pack of donuts. Need a caffeine lift? Grab you a iced or warm coffee too. Not much more needs to be said but the donuts are always fresh everytime I purchased and no sir or maam, you cannot eat just 1. Overall for donuts, here's my go to. I like Krispy Kreme's doughnuts but don't get them that often cause there's none really close to me. I'll get them a couple times a year when they have special flavors or promotions. My husband usually gets them at the Havertown PA location because it's close to his work, but a lot of the time they don't have the seasonal flavors that they're supposed to have. As soon as I saw the Valentines Day heart doughnuts I knew I had to get them. We were in the Delaware area doing some shopping so we decided to go to the New Castle location and I'm glad we did. I was worried about them running out of certain flavors or them looking horrible. I saw photos on Krispy Kreme's Facebook page from disappointed customers posting their valentines hearts doughnuts and they weren't pretty. Everyone's doughnuts either looked really sloppily iced, didn't have the words on it, or looked squished. The doughnuts at this location looked in decent shape and they had plenty of each flavor. I was even able to pick out which saying I wanted on each doughnut. The doughnuts all tasted very good. We got coffee drinks and they were decent too. The raspberry heart was my favorite out of the 4. The strawberry one was a little sickening sweet. I wanted to get a raspberry filled doughnut with chocolate icing Togo but they didn't have any. Hopefully they have it next time. Next time we come back to Delaware to do shopping we might have to make a trip back here. read more

We pulled in to take a treat on the road heading North to New York. As we entered the location, we were greeted extremely warm by a tall gentleman w/glasses & a black sweater. I did not get a chance to get his name. The aroma warms your nose immediately. The place was clean and the glass which separates the production line was directly in front of us. The kids enjoyed to observe fresh treats being created before their very eyes. As we came around to the order counter the kids also observed delivery trays being prepped. We approached a clean counter with smiles. We then had the opportunity to take a different view of production. The same gentleman who greeted us at the side was there. Before we ordered two dozen hot treats, he offered the kids complimentary glazed donuts. This not only bought immediate joy to my children, it warmed me to see such engagement which this world needs more of. You must be the owner of the business. While traveling from NYC to DE/MD, my girlfriends saw the doughnut shop open on the other side of the highway and of course busts a U-turn just to reach her heavenly desserts. Placed an order for a dozen donuts online, which was accepted and paid for. This was the only shop in driving distance that had this seasonal variety showing as available. Before I drove 40 minutes to get them, I gave the shop a call to confirm and had a rude manager tell me they don't carry them any more and "I don't know where you ordered from but you have to contact them for a refund". Uh, I ordered from Krispy Kreme's website. She told us to find the customer service number and that they don't pay their shop for the order. How does that work?
