We visit family twice a year for longer stays, and the very first thing my 5-year-old asks is to go to the "donut store." Beyond the delicious donuts--including classic old fashioned--they also have excellent breakfast sandwiches. Our favorite is the sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. The coffee is another highlight. They offer a solid specialty menu, and the Nutty Irishman is usually my go-to, but on this last trip I couldn't resist the eggnog latte. A small family apple orchard, it prides itself on organic produce and low spray apples. The also have unpasteurized apple cider which for me, is the best and the most flavorful. As it was late in the season, we picked our own bag from off the tree's and the ground for a bargain of .50cents a pound. We also got gallon of cider. I also spied produce,homemade pies, cookies, and preserves. I loved how they used an old scale to weigh the apples. So cool! This is a special place, and reminded me of my childhood in Vermont when I used to go to the local cider mill where all the locals and yellow jackets gathered.
