If you're flying out of O'Hare with a late-night flight, sadly, this sub-par Dunkin' Donuts is the only thing you will find opened.
The workers were rude and liars.
Prepare yourself for a poor experience...
I recently found myself at the mercy of this lonely outpost for a 1 AM flight, the only option for food at that hour
I placed my mobile order, because, hey, it's 2025 and standing in line didnt look too appealing if you can just order it ahead and avoid the long lines.
Apparently, at this Dunkin' no one working there (seems family run) gives a flying hoot about being polite and honest. My order was not ready although the app said it was.
I managed to flag down a worker who was throwing out the thrash (bc the line had about 20 people in it) and told me I had ordered from the wrong location.
Now, I'm no GPS rookie, but I made darn sure I ordered from Departures on Terminal 5.
Yet, three different men tried to convince me I had made an error in my mobile ordering and told me to go to the OTHER location on Terminal 5..
Spoiler: there is no other Dunkin' in Terminal 5. I made sure bc I even asked a security agent how many Dunkins there were at Terminal 5.
I went back this time explaining (again) that I was, in fact, at the correct Dunkin'...
After much eye-rolling and patronizing gestures, one of them finally prepared my order..
There was zero apologies given or even a hint of remorse for trying to fool me.
And what did I get for my trouble? A bagel that tasted like it had been through the same security screening process as my luggage--hard, stale, and totally uninspired--and the hot chocolate tasted way off. Like a cross between watered-down cocoa and a sad, chocolate-flavored regret.
So, heed my warning: if you're in need of a caffeine fix in the dead of night at O'Hare, prepare for a battle, a lackluster experience, and food that's about as fresh as the hope of getting a nice TSA agent that doesnt scream. You're not just at Dunkin'--you're at Dunkin' in the Twilight Zone.
I caution others to be very on guard bc they will try to scam you. read more
