We had the blueberry scone and the chocolate chip scone. Both were decadent. I wish I could have tried more of them. We sat in the Adirondack chairs in the small outdoor area in the front. The owner, Oriana, popped her head out of the service window immediately to greet us, hand us menus, and (most importantly) give our pups treats. My dogs loved her instantly. My husband and Oriana chatted about coffee and coffee making equipment. You truly need to stop here!

Identity Coffee is a nice little coffee shop in Meredith, and I can see why it has become the kind…read moreof place where people linger rather than simply grab a coffee and leave. The staff were friendly and provided service with a smile, and even with food and drink orders being prepared, everything moved along as quickly as you could reasonably expect. What I really liked was the amount of seating. There is plenty of room inside, including a comfortable living-room-type area that makes the place feel more like somewhere you can actually settle in for a while. There are books and board games around, so it has a relaxed, community sort of atmosphere rather than feeling like a place designed entirely around getting people in and out. There is also outdoor seating, which is a nice option when the weather cooperates. They do a good job incorporating local character into the shop, too. Local artwork and merchandise are available for purchase, and it gives the place more personality than your typical coffee chain. One of the more thoughtful touches is the option to "pay it forward." You can purchase a card or coupon for someone else to use toward whatever you choose to give them. It's a small thing, but I always like seeing businesses find ways to build a little generosity into the experience. As for the coffee, ours was perfectly decent, but I wouldn't say it was the reason I'd make a special trip back. It was good, just not particularly memorable. Sometimes a coffee shop gets everything else right and the coffee itself ends up being almost secondary, and that's probably where I landed with Identity. The atmosphere, seating and overall feel of the place were more impressive to me than what was actually in the cup. Still, if you're walking around Meredith and want somewhere comfortable to sit down, have something to eat or drink, play a board game, browse some local artwork or simply take a break from wandering around town, Identity Coffee is worth checking out. It has a welcoming, distinctly local personality, and the staff make you feel comfortable hanging around. The coffee didn't quite knock my socks off, but the overall experience was very pleasant, and that's enough to make this a solid stop when you're in Meredith.

The point of this is that for how crowed it was we were served fast, the line moved along and there was ample seating still. We got our kids two huge muffins that they couldn't t finish, (the pumpkin was superior to the apple) and egg sandwiches, which were fine nothing to write home about. The boarhead packaging is the only thing I would change. If I remember correctly they have iced coffee and cold brew; the cold brew is far superior

It was just a large iced latte (two double espresso shots & whole milk), but it was delicious! The espresso had a nice, strong flavor without being bitter or overpowering. I did to-go, but there are an ample amount of tables for sitting and enjoying your beverage or one of the many delicious sounding food choices on the menu... which I browsed whilst I waited for my latte. I will definitely be back to visit Tilly for another beverage, perhaps a strawberry matcha, and something from the food menu next time I'm in NH.
