I love their coffee and sour cream donuts. It's great to have a Dunkin Donuts right across from where I work.

On this day I was in The Dairy Godmother and noticed that Just Fine was also located there, so it was a good opportunity to try. It was a Saturday night almost 9pm and I didn't realize they were about to close. When I ordered my donut, I asked if I was getting ice cream too, should I pay separately or together and I was informed that since they were about to close, the donuts were free! And they asked if I wanted to try any others. So I got: mango tajin, chocolate cake (not pictured) and chocolate glazed. The chocolate cake was dry and didn't have much flavor. The chocolate glazed was my favorite. The donut was cakey and reminded me of some sweet treat from my childhood that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe some of the Entenmann's donuts? Anyway, it was really good for being a simple and plain donut. The manjo tajin wasn't bad. It's a plain vanilla cake donut with the mango and tajin in the icing. The flavors were good, but it wasn't worth me finishing. I love donuts and I love specialty donuts. While they may have some, this wasn't a place that I will include in my regular donut rotation, but I'm glad I finally got to try them.

These donuts are no joke. Fluffy, fresh, light but also thick, and perfect amount of sweetness. You can tell everything is made fresh in-house and the service is exceptionally wonderful. We love the vanilla donuts and the apple fritters! We can't wait to try more flavors.

The donuts tend to get sold out later in the day. The small cafe is tucked on the street behind the Quarter Market (it's NOT inside the market) and just a few blocks from the metro. I've been to the D.C. Penn Quarter location many times and glad I made my way to the original location in Ballston. The cozy cafe has indoor seating with a few tables (no outdoor seating). The mini Cookie Dough donut, Sept monthly special) was delicious! The regular size was sold out! The Cookie Dough donut was so good that I returned for the regular size in D.C. the next day! My kids enjoyed the mini Triple Chocolate donut and I wasn't a big fan of the stuffed blueberry jam donut. Looking forward to coming back and trying out the new batch of monthly donut flavors!

My husband had a chocolate cake donut and bagel with lox, while I had a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich and mini maple donut. We'd both order the same thing again - but would be happy to try something new as well. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is a bit noisy at the moment due to construction across the street. My only complaint is that $3.50 for a very small drip coffee felt a bit steep - the small felt smaller than usual.

We found that out the hard way but it was our fault, not the restaurant's. So we met an hour earlier. Lesson learned. I got the apple pie pancakes and they were amazing and the portions were huge. The biscuits looked good as well, my friend got them as a side, but I can only eat so much. The brisket hash and brisket bennie too. Everything is awesome here. You will not go hungry. They have many delicious apps and sides but you don't need them because the brunch portions are huge. You will have leftovers for one, maybe two more meals. That is a good thing. Only downside is parking is tight. There is a small lot out front, another one out back, and some street parking. You may have to drive around a bit to find it especially at peak hours. And the bathrooms are small. But this is an amazing place so be sure to check it out for brunch! Oh I have a hunch breakfast dinner and brunch would be so much more fun if I had it at Ruthie's All Day!

Overall, the boxed lunch options weren't bad (only cold choices, even though the board has hot options listed in the same area which made it a bit confusing for someone's first time there). We got the chicken salad sandwich and Mike's fav). The box came with a cookie, water, and choice of pasta salad or chips. The pasta salad had a Greek flavor to it and was yummy. We sat outside at the seat yourself tables which were clean and right next to the door leading to the bakery. The toffee cookie flavor leaned more towards the chocolate side.
