Hair

I don't know why I tried coming back this morning to the store again it was closed yesterday morning. When I tried to go and today in the morning I got food with hair in it, I'm not coming back ever. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on you that's nasty.

This college town shop is one of my favorites for many reasons. Reason #1- They have some of the best deals... $1 medium iced coffees from 2-6 all week long?? Back to school week free coffees?? It's like they want me to come... wild Reasons #2- clutch location on Lincoln way to get all the college students from campus or when I'm just driving across town Reasons #3- kind staff. Most are college students who are relatable and understand their customers. They are laidback, but efficient knowing we are all on tight schedules. Several times if I visit close to closing time (annoying, sorry) they are kind and offer some leftover doughnuts!! What!! Great service! Thanks dunkin.

Not glazed donuts

Got the small donut holes and asked for glazed ones and they were literally plain donuts with hardly any glaze.. gross.

No cream cheese on second bagel and barely any avocado and bacon on tiny piece of toast

Usually this place is good but whoever was working 6/11 at 1pm did a horrible job on our food and took forever.

Tasteless croissant

I usually come here early in the morning like before 7 and it seems like the person taking the order is always super fresh and happy but when you drive around to the window whoever is there is never upbeat. And never says much. Plus On top of this they rarely give you any napkins.

Staff is your typical assortment of friendly adults and high school kids. This is my go to place for meats as they often have great deals and high quality products. For everyday groceries, hyvee is on the pricey side but if your budget can handle it, this is a great place to shop! Never had a bad experience at this hyvee. The picture I included in this review is one of what's typically called "puppy chow" in the Midwest but it made me laugh that they call it "people chow." The main reason I include it is to show the quality of hyvee produced items. If you've ever tried to make puppy chow, it's a messy endeavor. Take a good look at how uniform and clean those boxes look, it's a good example that the increase in price tends to lean toward better items. Overall this is a better than average hyvee! And as the only grocery store on the West side of Ames, it's a good one!

Taco Johns, I love you. I do…read more When I think back on the best experiences of my life, my first trip to Iowa ranks in the top 3. I ate a lot of taco Johns' potato oles when I was there, so this place holds a special place in the nostalgia center of my brain. I can't describe to you to depth of adulation I have for the potato oles. I could probably write a sonnet, but I'll never try... because I don't want to know for sure that it's in me to write a sonnet about what is essentially a seasoned tater tot. Suffice it to say, though, that I had never before, nor have I ever since, found such a delightful snack at any fast food restaurant that I've ever been to. Now, this is a big deal. Maybe not for you, but definitely for me. In a dark world where places like McDonald's flavor their french fries with some kind of secret beef extract, and places like Taco Bell have nary a vegetarian option in sight (I'm cautious of their beans, regardless of what they tell me), Taco Johns is a big shining lantern lighting the way for vegetarians everywhere. Except in California where we don't have Taco Johns. For the sake of complete transparency, though, I've never had anything else here... Come to think of it, I've never really even looked at the menu. Do they even sell tacos here? I don't know. I just know that Dan told me I was going to love these potato things, and then he ordered some for me. After that, I didn't need a menu. However, this might mean that there is really nothing else here I can eat. I also don't really care. There are other restaurants in Ames where I can get a salad.
