For personal security reasons (as in, I prefer to leave reviews of places that I temporarily reside…read morein much later than my stay), this review is very delayed. I stayed here over memorial day weekend 2025, and though I was a bit late for Holland's famous Tulip Time, there were still a few tulips sprinkled around the property. This place was like a big gorgeous house, which makes sense for a bed and breakfast. It was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and I'd recommend this experience entirely and would like to stay again if I have the chance. There's a couple spacious sitting areas that encourage mingling with other guests but you also have some privacy if you prefer to keep to yourself. The owners are a family, with main ownership from a mother and son, and it feels like there is a great sense of pride with ownership and operation of the inn. They help the space like you're staying with extended family in a way. There are maybe 7-8 different rooms on the property of different sizes. I believe they have a couple larger rooms in a guest house that's just across from the house main entrance. My partner and I had a smaller room in the main house called "The Audrey"with one queen bed on the second floor. It was just the right amount of space for the two of us. The rooms are seemingly spaced out enough so that you only hear others when they pass by your door. All the doors have a lock with a key. Each room has a bathroom attached to it that comes with towels and shampoo/conditioner in pump bottles in the shower. Our room also had a nicely sized TV, where we watched the Indy 500 (this is ironic considering that we were visiting from Indy!) For a bed and breakfast, you have access to some foodstuffs throughout the entire day. They have large fridges that have jams, meats, cheeses, and breads that are kept up to stock throughout the day, so the owners said that folks will often have lunch at the inn. They also have fruit, yogurt, and homemade granola. Coffee and tea can be readily made throughout the day as well. Overall, the inn common areas are kept very clean. Like I said before, I would absolutely jump at the chance to stay here again, especially during Tulip Time. You are just steps away from a beautiful park and a couple blocks away from restaurants on one of the main avenues. I hope that the next time I make my way up to Holland, a room will be available for Tulip Time. I'd even book it years in advance if I had to. Disclaimer: some of the hallways are a little narrow, but that's just part of the older house experience. This location also pretty much requires the use of some steps to move about. I would not consider this inn to be disability friendly, but that's also just older building experience. This is a truly neutral point from me that does not impact the status of this review.

Had no idea of what to expect really, just was on the hook by the wife to get a hotel near our family reunion and got lucky...REAL Lucky as i capped out in brownie points. Easy check-in, great breakfast served up and just a warm, family feel when you stay here. I'm ex-military and it felt so wrong at first when we got there as it was above my pay-grade to stay at a great location. Walking distance to main street of Holland, room had a claw foot tub (who has that now days?!?!) and was a real relaxing feel after running all day. Hats off.

Been staying here consistently over the past several months. The staff is very nice. They had…read moresome recent turnover so a couple have left, but most have remained and service still good. Lots of great positives here. The rooms are clean, mini-fridge, microwave, clean bathroom. Shower has shampoo / soap / conditioner dispensers which is great. Towels plentiful, clean. Beds are relatively firm. The TV - good selection of channels, and HBO is their jam there while others I have seen Showtime. It's all good since I like HBO. They also have good options to plug in your devices, extra outlets located on top of the end table and desk, and USB option so you don't have to get on you knees. Great concept. Breakfast options open until 10am which is solid. Pretty good options, the manager there cares about her customers and does a great job keeping it up and the quality too. My favorite is the oatmeal - which is great to eat throughout the day, something I don't make a lot at home. The eggs here are solid - typical omelet w/ cheese at times, but I love the scrambled eggs which are fluffy and good quality. Bacon here looks good but is thin and sometimes greasy and not as satisfying, wish it was thicker cut and crispier. Waffle stations available too. I like the yogurt options and also milk and chocolate milk. They also make bags of snacks with bottled water for you to take on the go and cannot eat there. I wish: - they had A2 milk or lactose free milk options - they had sausage links (I've seen at some comparable hotels in area) - but I don't really need the extra cholesterol so not a deal breaker. - They could do something about the plethora of kids that stay there w/ families. That's the only major downside here is some large family groups or teams stay there, and a lot of the parents don't watch their kids and allow them to roam around aimlessly. So one night they were running up and down the hallway until midnight - omfg I was irritated. And some of them treat this hotel like it's home so they don't mind yelling or talking loud in the hallways. Or the room above me - the kids are jumping and running around until late - omg. But it usually ends at midnight if you can handle that. There's also an indoor pool there with games. I have mentioned this and the staff are aware and said I need to let them know and they will say something. But they try to keep things under control and they are frustrated as well. Recently I noticed their prices have increased by nearly 50%, so I split my time w/ another hotel 25 min away, but overall when I am in this area I do like this Hampton Inn and do recommend them. Great rooms, clean, customer service, ample parking too.

After 16 years as an occasional customer for incense and a few expensive glass pieces as gifts, and…read morereferring many friends, I'm done and never going back. I purposely go out of my way to try to keep my business in small locally owned shops. Owner refused to sell me a $4 box of incense because he wouldn't charge my card for any sale under $10. I only had $3 cash on me so I started to walk away. He then decided he would "do me a favor" and agree to run my card if I bought a 2nd box making my total still under his $10 REQUIREMENT. I spent decades of my life in retail sales up to and including district mgr for HUGE chain of stores similar to this type of business. I also spent many years in customer satisfaction research in every scenario imaginable including as a secret shopper. If his goal is to upsell, I get it. Upselling can be a HUGE money maker when its done right. Upselling by way of threat or intimidation is morally bankrupt and only speaks to a lower level of care for customer retention. I will never be back.

They made me feel insignificant. They could have won over a customer. Instead, I'm never going back.
