I recently had a shift issue with my 2011 Jeep patriot and had it towed to Dunham trans within the same day it was diagnosed and repaired. Easy fix, The Owner Tom said they fixed a few broken wires and also I think he said it had a bad shift Solenoid. This saved me tons of money. I definitely recommend these guys. I brought my car here and was quoted $4500 as they said I would need my transmission rebuilt. A few moments later my phone rings again asking me if I would sell my car to them. Absolutely not!! I love my car!! But I guess they did too?!? Picked my car up the same day knowing that my car did not need what they quoted me. Lo and behold, my transmission did not need what they claimed and only needs a new TCM at a little bit more than $2000 less than their quote. They were friendly and responsive though. read more

I was referred to Dunham Transmission by my mechanic. I have a 2007 Honda with only 113,000 miles. I spent close to $2400 for a new transmission. Close to one year later, my transmission began doing the same thing. I called Tom and he said it was under warranty but they couldn't work o. it due to Covid. Finally, in July, they agreed to look at it. They found something faulty and replaced that. I was assured that if there were any problems they would look at it. In mid August , Ny car began shifting hard in to second. I called to ask them to look at it and the only response I get is " it isn't under warranty you know". Tom does not return messages I leave with his other mechanics . Very poor customer service. At least return my calls!!! Over $2400 and they can't honor work they did 2 months.prior?!?! read more

Thier price was $2,200 PLUS tow, versus TNS Transmission for $2,000 tow included. TNS fixed it for for $340 cause the tranny wasn't wasted. Would Dunham have been that honest? read more

I took my old Mitsubishi to them to get a diagnosis on the transmission. They told me that it needed to be rebuilt and I asked for an estimate. They gave me one and I called four other shops and found Dunham's to be less than the median number. I asked Dunham's what happens to the estimate if they find the transmission needs more than they thought. I was told that if things were very bad in there, it would be a hundred more, two hundred at the most. A few days later, I called and they said that the interior was worse than they thought and that the age of my van was making parts hard to come by. They searched nationally and found the planetary gears and other things they needed. The bill was a hundred more than the estimate. It's been two weeks and it runs just fine with a one year parts and labor warranty. Good communication and good work. read more

These guys have been rebuilding transmissions for over 50 years now and that's why I brought it to them. Matt quoted me at 1750$ w/o tax and stuck to the quote. In addition, I found out that these guys rebuild transmissions for several other shops. So if you're getting your tranny rebuilt somewhere else, chances are these guys are building it and the other shop is the middle man. Moreover, these guys are an ATRA shop which means their work comes with a two year warranty on parts and labor. I had a little leak after they checked the work a week later which is common with this type of job. They fixed it under warranty and I have been good to go since then. I gave one star because 0 was not an option.This place has either idiots working there or they are scammers. I will never trust a mechanic again and will always get second opinion.We had are car towed there when it broke down. They told us we needed a new transmission and gave us an estimate of around $3200 to $3500. We still owed $3000, We decided we financially we could not afford to put more money into it and would have to sell. Because we trusted them and took there word for it we got screwed big time. We had a hard time selling the car for $1000 because we are honest people and told potential buyers about the transmission. We where lucky to get $1000 for it. Come to find out the guy who brought it informed me a couple hours later the only thing that was wrong with the car was a bad axel on drivers side and it runs great. Now we have no car and still owe on the loan when we could have fixed the car for a few hundred dollars. I will never trust another mechanic again. Worst Experience ever! The shop had my car 2weeks they pushed it aside because it was a warranty repair on my transmission. Than they determined it was covered and hit me with a $1, 500 bill. On top of it they returned my bmw with a spare tire on it! My local tire shop determined they drove on a flat and therfor the sidewall was trashed! The owner took no responsibility and was very rude & ignorant over the phone. They have the worst customer satisfaction.....I will NEVER RETURN! read more
