Lynn was friendly taking my calls. Yes, I shopped around and chose Dunellen Auto Glass for their warranty and to do business with a local entity. Shop Local! Two man crew was at my home as scheduled (actually a little early), replaced my glass and done by 8:15 AM and I was back to work. Friendly guys. Although I won't know until I start driving and the first rain/snow comes around, everything looks right and the vehicle was left neat and clean. These are the nicest, most honorable people. I had water coming in to my car and was getting ready to drive to Florida...nobody could find the source of the leak and nobody would touch my windshield to see if it was the problem...I went to Dunellen Auto Glass, not only did he pop out my windshield and not smash it as everyone else claimed the reason they wouldnt do it, he re-sealed it and sent me on my way to Florida without taking a penny because he had no idea if he had 'fixed the problem'. I had a dry ride to Florida and a dry visit thanks to them. I came home and promptly paid them....a total bargain and over and above what anybody else would do or me. Made an appointment over the phone for a windshield replacement. Was told it would take about an hour. When I got there they were ready (wasn't waiting beyond my appointment time for them to get started). I was just getting comfortable with my book when they told me my car was ready. It had only taken about a half hour. Price was as quoted. Only complaint is that they kind of messed up my inspection sticker and the month can't be read. But hey, I'll worry about that once 2018 rolls around. read more

TL;DR - this business does not care about your time! I needed to replace the windshield on my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, so my dealer, Team Welsh referred me to Dunellen Auto Glass. I spoke to Lynn (or was it Liz?), and requested a MOPAR (OEM Chrysler part) windshield, along with rain sensor pads and molding. I setup the appointment 2 weeks in advance, for Wednesday (8-24-2016), to ensure that everything will be ready. She said that she had to purchase this windshield from NY but that 2 weeks was plenty of time to get it to her shop. Due to my scheduling conflict, I called them on 8-19 to move the appointment to following day, Thursday, 8-25-2016. To make it easier for Dunellen Auto Glass, I volunteered to drive 25 min. to their store location by 8am to get the work done. I go there today (8-25) at 8am, and a guy who works there cannot find the OEM windshield. After looking around, his best guess is that someone installed my OEM glass on another Grand Caravan. Instead of offering any kind of solutions (i.e. get another OEM glass and expedite the work, etc.), he simply shrugged and said sorry. I value other people's time as well as mine. I really hate when people and businesses waste my time. I left a voice message with Team Welsh to express how unsatisfied I was with their referral to this "business". Alternative solution? I was very happy with windshield replacement done for my other vehicle (Subaru Outback) last year by Novus Glass in Phillipsburg, NJ (owner Rich did the work on-site) so guess I will give him the business. After some enormous piece of debris flew into my windshield while driving down a random back road, the 4" diameter radiating crack made it clear that I needed a replacement. Dunellen contracts with a company that services my office, so I was put in touch with them that way. They gave me a (competitive) quote over the phone and we set up an appointment. Technicians arrived on site and had the new windshield in place in about half an hour while I continued my day. All was well until I got in the car to drive home that evening, and noticed a serious distortion in the glass that was right in my line of sight while driving. Since it was after hours by then, I could only reach voicemail, so I left a message explaining the problem. Commence sleepless night - how are they going to deal with this, will it cost me more money, etc. I heard back first thing the next morning while I was driving in (leaning to the left to keep the distortion from making my eyes cross), and they booked a time to come and install another windshield with a different brand of glass. No questions, no costs, just a commitment to solving my issue. The new, new windshield is happily in place now, and appears distortion-free. Five star service - I wish the first windshield hadn't had a distortion, but I should have checked to make sure everything was ok before they left. read more

I just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Dunellen Auto Glass. They did a great job replacing the windshield of my minivan, but unfortunately the tape they used damaged some of the paint on the vehicle. It definitely needed repair. It could have been an awkward situation but Bill, the owner, stepped right up and sent me to a nearby auto paint shop where they did a great job fixing the paint job - at no cost to me. Accidents sometimes occur when this type of work is taking place. I greatly appreciate a business that's willing to stand behind their work. That speaks volumes to me about the integrity of the owner and the business and makes me want to recommend them to everyone. read more

Excellent Service!!!! I called to make an appointment and the receptionist, Lynn, was friendly and professional and gave me an appointment within a reasonable number of days, considering they were coming to me. Appointment was within 2 hour time frame. Close to appointment time, the owner, Bill, called and said they would be there within the hour. They arrived within 45 minutes. Service gentlemen were professional and friendly. Said it would take 1/2 hour and just shy of, they were finished. And for $150 less than Safelite! Hopefully, I won't need any more glass repair/replacement but if I do, will absolutely use again and definitely recommend to others. read more

I'm a teacher in inner city Newark and when I got back to my car after certification classes just a few days ago, my driver's side front window had been smashed. It was of course pouring. The following day, I called probably up to 10 places looking for someone who could replace the window in the upcoming days. Dunellen Auto Glass was not only the most reasonably priced, they had the new glass in within four hours of that initial phone call. It was absolutely amazing. More than just that exceptional time frame and price, the people there were absolutely the friendliest and most professional group of people to work with. They expressed so much sympathy, took care of everything with such efficiency, and even vacuumed out my car to get all the glass that I had missed the night before. Within 20 hours of the incident, it looked as though it had never even happened and I could get back to my life. What a positive experience. read more

Horrible experience. This auto repair shop does not know how to take any responsibility for their mistakes. The receptionist/parts ordering person, Lynn, can certainly use some customer service training. Lynn knew we were driving to this shop from Montreal (a 6 hour drive) just to get this window fixed. The wrong part was ordered, there was no apology for any inconvenience. All she said was "got some bad news for ya." Then continued to defend herself, blaming the computer system saying "it's not my fault." The mechanic tore apart the professionally patched window that we had paid $50 to help us travel safely from Canada, without checking that he had the right part. So when we returned to pick up our unfixed window, it was sealed with a 1 min fix job of taping a piece of tape over it. The owner shrugged his shoulders and also did nothing to apologize or help. We drove away worse than we arrived. These people are a joke. Nothing clean nor professional about them. read more

The Best. The service, from the person on the phone to the installers, could not have been better. They made the process of having to get a rear window replaced simple. And since it isn't something most people deal with everyday, you don't know what to expect as far as price, or how long it takes, etc. I got an immediate price, was told they would check on the availability of the glass and call me back. They did, right away. I was able to have the glass installed the same afternoon - and they came to me! No having to make appointments or take off work when I was already spending money I hadn't planned on. The installers made sure there was no glass fragments left when they were done.
