Long Branch Park has preserved it rustic appearance...the big shady trees.. the inlet where ducks and goose hanging out... and the uneven paths.. BTW, if you look at all the houses and buildings... they do have their own little story.. they used to be cottages back in the early 1900s.. and some for them are hotels... yes this is the cottage area that the old Torontonians come to spent their hot summer weekends. While I was enjoying the breeze...and daydreaming owning one of those huge houses facing the Lake... My Yelp friend was thinking about what's for dinner! :)

The park is in Oakville that kind of 1 hr from Toronto. The traffic today was not too bad, we followed GPS to a resident area that saying not able to access the park from there, we parked the car across the street, and walked along the trails. However, we walked about 30 mins, we got to a parking lot again that stating this one is the Lions Valley Parking Lot. That means the one we entered from was part of the park. But not the main entrance. Since we don't have too much time today, we couldn't finish the whole park visiting. If we can have a better sign to show the park from the difference entrance, that would be much better.

It is connected to Water Works Park on the west side and Sixteen Mile Creek on the east side. There are limited parking spots on both Tannery park and Water Works park. I went here on a Friday night when the weather was very windy and there were big waves in the lake, so the path to the pier was closed. There are many benches on the waterfront trail that you can sit down and enjoy the view and park is well-maintained and clean. You also can see the Toronto skyline on a good weather condition. The monument on the Tannery Hill Beacon is nice to watch and you also can enjoy the view better from up in the hill.

Make sure to bring water, sunscreen and hat or umbrella. The trails were pretty well kept and had a mix of shade and unshaded areas. Most of the trails and picnic areas were pretty quiet and looked to be not very busy. I think there were some parts of the trails that were off leash dog areas. When we were there, the barn area wasn't really opened to the public (in terms of looking inside them).

Bronte Creek is one of the two provincial parks in the GTA. There is an entrance fee, so I would…read moresuggest getting the Ontario Parks pass from your local library to enter and to park for free. This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

The boardwalk has you covered as it loops around the lake itself. Want a longer hike through the woods? The multiple trails weave through the nearby woodlands and can extend your outing to hours. Want to take a break from walking and learn? The historical importance of the lake itself as well as the Iroquois village with tons of exhibits is right there as well! And the best part is it's all in the GTA's backyard - absolutely worth it!

I was in the area with family in August a couple of years back. We were hiking around the trails in…read morethe area. There's a small fee to enter and park ($11/vehicle, $4.40 walking in). It's not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. There's lots of parking nearby. Trails by Tews and Webster's Falls are pretty well maintained and quiet. They are pretty short so it's should good for anyone who doesn't like long hikes. Also, there are picnic benches if you are planning to bring food. I feel like they are somewhere you go in the spring or autumn. You would see the leaves being colors and more water flowing over the Falls.
