    We visited Dumpling King for some dinner and the service here was fast once we walked in we receded. The ambience in here is very spacious with lots of seating. We ordered five dishes and left with some leftovers my favorite dish from this place was the salt and pepper fish fillets and my least favorite was the cucumber salad. Overall, I would visit them again.

    My friend and I stopped by for an early dinner because she heard about this place. We had both never been here. It wasn't too busy. Garlic string beans (2/5): These weren't my favorite. Usually I love a stir-fried garlic string bean but these weren't blistered enough for my liking. Could've been cooked longer. Juicy pan fried bao (3/5): This was 6 pieces of pan-fried buns filled with kurobuta pork. The dough seemed very thick. The meat was flavorful though. Chive & pork dumplings (4/5): A standard boiled dumpling. I enjoyed it. ChongQing Style Noodles (1/5): I don't think I've ever had these noodles before. I wasn't expecting it to be served in such a thick gravy? There was so much of it, a bit overwhelming. I thought it would be a bit more of a noodle with a light sauce or broth. Flavor was okay. Wasn't much spice. Everything felt mushy. Overall, not my favorite. I've been to other dumpling restaurants that I enjoyed more. Service was fine.

    We visited Dumpling King on 2/17 to celebrate the Lunar New Year and were honestly just grateful they were open. The place was absolutely slammed. The energy felt festive, but be warned: it was very cold inside despite the packed dining room. A few staff members were even wearing parkas, so definitely bring a jacket if you're dining in during the winter. I went with three friends who took the lead on ordering. They give you a laminated menu, and you use a dry-erase pen to make your selections. Overall, the food was fine. We shared BBQ pork bao and several varieties of dumplings, which hit the spot for a celebratory meal. The cucumber salad turned out unexpectedly sweet, but we repurposed the sauce as a dip for our dumplings, which actually worked surprisingly well. The standout for me was the *Wor Wonton Soup*: comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a chilly night. The biggest downside was the pacing. There were long gaps between dishes, and our final three dumpling plates arrived at the same time as the check. With so many "dumpling"-named spots across San Francisco (thanks to that viral article making the rounds), expectations are high. And while this Clement Street location is convenient and lively, I wouldn't call it the best dumpling destination in the city. Still, for a festive night out during Lunar New Year, it got the job done.

    Decent Chinese food with no frills. Service is always friendly and quick and there's typically a seat available even during the busy weekends. Menu is extensive and you just mark the items you want and hand the menu back to the wait staff. My favorite item of the night was the zhajiang mian. The noodles tasted as if they were freshly pulled and the noodles had the perfect bite. The sauce was flavorful and perfectly balanced with the freshness of the cucumbers. I personally felt the custard bun and sesame swirl bao tasted like frozen baos. The flavors were kind of bland. My fiancee and his mom really liked the hot and sour soup. My true rating for this restaurant is 3.6/5

    What an amazing experience in New Chinatown on Clement! Unique dim sum and bao--a must see and try. You mark your selections with an erasable marker on the extensive menu--fun! We ordered: - Crab roe and pork dumplings - Goldfish dumplings of shrimp and chives - Chicken, kale, and corn dumplings - Juicy pan-fried Korobuta pork bao - Sesame balls - Roasted rice tea All for $60 with tax before tip. Very reasonable. We visited on Super Bowl Sunday and the restaurant was playing the Olympics on their big screen TV, which didn't distract from the lovely "moving" waterfall murals and beautiful decor. The service was appropriately attentive, warm, welcoming, and friendly. We were served promptly.

    We went here for a quick date after my husband and I visited his grandma. I was craving for dumplings and the other place I wanted to go to is closed. We came across this place and we had great food! We were seated right away as it was not busy. We ordered potstickers, bbq baos, sesame balls, custard baos, pork and shrimp dumplings, Shanghai(?) soup dumplings and ordered garlic noodles and sesame chicken to go. Everything was tasty and warm and cozy! I loooved their custard baos! It was my first time trying it and it was like eating a cloud! Plus, they have the cuuutest panda design! It was definitely heavenly! I also loved the sesame balls. Very light and crunchy that we ended up ordering one more order to go. The place has a good vibe. There is a monitor with water falls streaming down that calms the eyes. They also serve hot tea on the house! No need to order for additional charge! Will definitely come back!

    A true hidden gem on Clement! This modern, cozy dumpling spot serves absolutely outstanding food. The menu has a great variety, including plenty of delicious vegetarian options. Their vegetarian xiao long bao is hands-down the best I've ever had--hot, soupy, flavorful, and made completely in-house. Do not leave without trying the dry-fried chicken wings. They're incredibly tender, perfectly crispy, and the sweet-spicy flavor is addictive. The owner is warm, welcoming, and clearly cares about the food and the experience. Everything we tried was fantastic. Highly recommend--come hungry and try a bit of everything. You won't be disappointed!

    It was a freezing night so choose not to venture to far from home and landed here with luck . Super busy probably because of beginning of the new lunar year of the horse . Waited not too long and the workers maybe owners had it down to clearing tables and seating guests quickly. So starving ordered the 4 dumpling with a kale w/chicken and corn , shrimp and scallop , goldfish and shrimp . The mu shu vegetable which came with some thin pancakes and a deliciously thick plum sauce. Peking ribs really saucy and nice and a good portion for take home plus a chicken soup with lamb pieces. The servers were eager and quick and quite professional. My first time here I remember being here but with a restaurant with a different name . Definitely

    Came in for lunch on a Sunday and pretty happy with the food here! The garlic noodles were delicious, especially when paired with the chili oil. They were buttery and very garlicky! General Tso's chicken was to die for... sweet and spicy, juicy tender chicken and a good portion size. We also ordered the vegetable soup dumplings and kung pao chicken dumplings, but these dishes were just okay. Both were quite bland and the kung pao had way too much oil. Service was quick and attentive. They had a pretty large menu which was cool too!

    We tried Dumpling King as it is one of the restaurants open later on Clement St, and were not disappointed. We were with my nieces, who can be quite picky and difficult to please. We ordered the salmon avocado fried rice, shanghai soup dumpling, kimchi & pork soup dumpling, shrimp & scallop dumpling, pan fried chicken pot sticker, and zhajiang mian. We all really loved the dumplings. My nieces especially loved the shanghai soup dumpling, but my partner and I preferred the kimchi & pork soup dumpling since it was slightly spicy. We also loved the shrimp & scallop dumpling, and wished we got another order since it only came with three dumplings. The pan fried chicken pot stickers were also very good, with the filling having a nice meaty and chivey flavor. I thought the zhajiang mian was pretty tasty, although my partner (half Korean) said the flavor was a bit different from a traditional zhajiang mian. The salmon avocado fried rice was the least memorable. It wasn't bad, but we probably would another something else next time. Overall, we really enjoyed Dumpling King and would come back again!

    I'd do a 4.5 if I could! The place is light and bright, if a little clinical. The service was good and so was the food. It's slightly on the pricier end of casual SF dining, but not too bad. You make your choices with a marker on their extensive menu sheets. Goldfish Dumpling (Shrimp and Chive): Tender and delicious. I really like the filling on these ones. Dried Fried Chicken Wings: It's hard to top San Tung, but these are great. Big, meaty, and extremely crunchy batter. The sauce is really sticky and gooey. A bit of a splurge for 8 at $19, but good stuff. Beef Chow Fun: Solid classic! No complaints. Cumin Lamb: This was really good. Tender meat and a whole lot of onions.

The bar makes it easy to converse with your partner and to peer over as the fire from the range springs up from the kitchen. We ordered a full bottle of Negori sake. Note: if you do not finish the sake bottle, they cannot pack it to go for you, so drink up! Obviously, we couldn't order everything on the menu. For our first visit, we definitely wanted their special dish, Fried Squab. It was delicious! The meat was moist and the dipping salt with Sichuan peppercorn paired perfectly! Just don't focus too much on the visual... the head and claws. Hot Mustard Jellyfish Salad ~ I loved the "crunch" of the jellyfish and the hot mustard marinade was just spicy enough to start a slow burn up the nose. The mixture of proteins was also tasteful. Now for the pork dumplings, the presentation was nice and also tasted great with nice hints of shrimp. We noticed the place became very busy but the service was still attentive. I recommend getting a reservation for larger parties or if you visit during peak hours. We aren't local or else this would be a regular place for us.

There is a parking structure next to the tea house but it gets challenging during the weekend. I would rather take ferry and grab a Lyft next time. Will I be coming back? Maybe but it will not be my top choice while I'm in SF. Will I recommend? Yes! You should absolutely try it for yourself!

There will be a little bit of a wait if you come at lunchtime, but the changing of tables is so quick, it's worth the wait. My table got many items to try out, including a number of dumplings and main dishes. We have no complaints! The servers were on top of their game, and every time a menu item was brought out, they would cross it out at the table, to ensure all our food was brought out. Each dish came out piping hot (especially the dumpling and wontons), and my favorite main dish was definitely the Braised Seafood + Tofu in Clay Pot. Pair that with some rice and your set. This place was such a vibe! Totally recommend; all our food came out quick --- everything was made-to-order, and they got nothing wrong. 10 out of 10!

Shops were starting to open up and we stumbled upon Hon's Wun-Tun House. We originally wanted to go to a different dumpling house but that one was closed at the time. As we peered into Hon's storefront window, we saw employees already busy making dumplings around 9am. We decided to give it a try and we were so happy we did! The servers were quick to seat us, give us water and take our orders using their tablets. We ordered the pan fried dumplings and the scallion pancakes. Everything was delicious! The dumplings had a good amount of filling and were hot and fresh. The scallion pancakes had plenty of scallions which I appreciated. I mean it wouldn't be scallion pancakes without the ample amount of scallions, right?! Lots of customers were having breakfast and I noticed many people ordered congee, so it must be one of their best sellers. Our bellies were satisfied and we were out of there in under 30 minutes. Bill came out to be about $23 after taxes and before tip. This place is great for a group of friends or families to sit down and have a meal while visiting Chinatown. The front of the restaurant has a kiosk to place orders as well (not sure if it's only for take-out orders). It's definitely a restaurant I would go back to when we are in the area again.

I checked in and said im walking in here for happy hour. the host said ok happy hour and asked me do I want to sit inside at a table or at the bar? I'm thinking "o, I thought for happy hour I must be seated only at the bar, ok lets get a table instead then, maybe more comfortable."
