Condense Milk Frappe

Each time we visit our aunt and cousins in Hesperia Dulce Canella is a go to stop for a quick sugar rush of churros. Their churros are always made fresh to order and oh so yummy. Service is always spot on as the staff is always nice and are helpful on what to get. The store is very welcoming and inviting with good vibes and music playing in the background. This is always a treat. This is a for sure go to spot for some delicious fresh churros.

Came on a Friday night. They close at 10 but they were already closing up at 9:20 We came in and as soon as we got in the store, the guy ran to the front and locked the doors. They didn't greet us. But just looked at us and waited till we ordered. We ordered the regular churros. They were honestly the best churros I've had up the hill. They were freshly made and not too sweet. Clean and well decorated Would definitely come back. But just didn't like What happened when we got in the store.

My go to place for an oreo milk shake and churros! Quick service and very friendly staff!

Churros topped with strawberries, condensed milk, and a milky caramel sauce

I was craving something. SOMETHING. It was a disappointing day at work, and it was my birthday week, but I wanted something. And so I headed to Dulce Canella to fulfill my woes with sweetness. No regrets! I mean, my blood sugar tripled, but I will handle that later, and this was expected. Exit Main Street and make a right from the 15 North (or left on the 15 South) and drive down until you it in between Del Taco and Wing Stop, right next to Jersey Mike's. This little sweet gem is such a good find. I have had carnival churros, restaurant churros, fast food churros, churros bent to arch over ice cream, and churros sticking out of a cup of ice cream. They were all the same type, and that was all the churros I know, but at Dulce Canella, I discovered something different. The cashier kindly showed me an Expo Marker to give me an idea of their churro size and thickness. This was, in fact, my first time here, so the imagery sorta helped. I placed my order, and she invited me to sample their hot drinks: champurrado, Cafe de oja, and atole de Coco. Atole de coco? I never heard of it, so you know what that meant: "Sure! Let me try that!" And the next thing you know, I ordered a large cup. It's a sweet, creamy, and wonderfully hot coconut drink. This complimented what I can only refer to as my birthday churros. It was such a treat! The hot caramel and condensed milk over the warm churros was a wonderful and recommended flavor profile. Topped with fresh, cold strawberries just added a wonderful flavor to the texture. Back to the churros, they definitely tasted like they were freshly made. I don't know, the churros I know seemed almost the same, just different toppings, but here it seemed darker, more generous with the sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon. The internal texture wasn't doughy, just a good bite at every bite. I don't think we have anything else like this in the desert, and it is a bit of drive because it is located close to the freeway, but it is worth it. They also have deep-fried oreos and deep fried twinkies on the menu. There is a drink menu too, like horchata. I will try all that some other time. The service is fantastic. The wait time is fair, assuming and depending on the wait. Get that sweet tooth ready.

Yum! Can't beat their fresh churros! Then great ice cream and lechera on top! With a friendly staff!

This is a local must have! The customer service is A1. You're greeted right away, the place looks great and everything is very clean. It was my first time & I was explained the menu thoroughly. I knew I wanted coffee and churros with some ice cream from the get-go. I ordered a large hazelnut iced coffee and churros with ice cream, strawberries and strawberry jam. It was a 10 minute wait because everything is made fresh. I also bought two Salvadorian quesadillas for my suegros. I think in total I spent around $30? Everything was tremendously delicious. I hope to return when I'm in the area again. I highly recommend it if you're in the area or willing to make the trip.

Craving a churro? Dulce Canella does not disappoint. The churros are hot and crunchy with a soft inside. The ice cream is top tier too. If you're trying to lose weight this spot is dangerous because it's hard to have self control at this spot. The drinks are pretty good too but the star is the churros and ice cream. Your choice of toppings. Staff is always super nice! Great place for a quick sweets date or to take the kids for a treat.

Fried "garbage" Twinkies

Customer service is good, but....my experience, not so much. Walked in, was greeted by the staff and was offered a sample of the iced coffee. Before placing my order, I let the cashier know I had a "check in offer" on Yelp for 3 free churros and asked if I could use it. She said "Yes!" I showed it to her, and she had me press "Use Now", to redeem it. I also let her know I'd be adding a side of caramel dip. I proceeded to place the remainder of my order, which included a Caramel shake, Caramel iced coffee and fried Twinkies. My coworker noticed we were being charged for a 24 oz instead of a 20 oz. He let her know that we just wanted the 20oz and the cashier, told us they are out of the 20 oz cups. Ok that's fine, but let your customer know that, before thinking it's ok to charge more, without informing us of that. I hadnt noticed cause I wasn't looking at the screen, but he was. After paying, she said it would take mins. We got our order and left. When we got back to work, I realized my churros aren't in the bag, neither is the side of dip. Like how do you forget that?!?! Its the first thing I mentioned and it's not they were busy....we were the only ones in that at that time. The twinkies tasted cheap and the cake texture tasted nothing like a twinkie. It tasted like a over baked cake. I shared one with my coworker, and threw the rest in the trash, right where they belonged.

I wanted to try out Flame Broiler in Hesperia. It's been around for many years, but I never got around to checking them out. Well, I'm not going to get a chance to check them out now because they closed this location unfortunately. Bummer! However, a new dessert place took over its place... Dulce Canella (DC) which means sweet cinnamon in Spanish. Well, since we were here, we might as well try them out. My youngest daughter loves churros and so do I. We ended up ordering 1 Churros Sundae, 1 Fried Platanos, 1 Champurrado to eat/drink here and 1 order of 8 Churros to-go. As for the Churros Sundae, the churros were very fresh and had a good crunch with the right amount of cinnamon sugar... better than Costco IMHO. Costco churros used to be very good, but they changed their recipe and now it's not that great. Anyway, DC churros are a little short and thin for the price though. It could be longer and fatter LOL. Vanilla ice cream was a nice compliment to the churros. We got maple syrup and crushed oreos as our 2 toppings... perfect for the sundae! As for the Fried Platanos, it was okay. I wished the bananas were a bit sweeter. Perhaps they can add a sweet crispy batter to sweetened it up. It did come with 2 toppings... we chose caramel and condensed milk... but it didn't help with the taste... maybe it's just the bananas. As for the Champurrado (hot chocolate drink), it was the best drink out of the 3 hot drinks we tried. It had a very nutty taste.... not that sweet though. It was okay... not a keeper for me. As for the 8 churros to-go, they were a winner! But then again, they could be longer and fatter for $8.00. You'll know what I mean when you see the pictures LOL. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Thank you Leah for the exceptional service! We appreciate you. Shop has a very open space. Love its simplicity! They do have inside dining. They serve other food items besides churros. We'll definitely be back for their delicious churros and look forward to their chicken food items. We'll see you here next time. Feliz Dulce Canella'ing!

All of the Oreos in my order (I got 3 orders) all had uncooked batter inside called and always went quiet

That said, the prices are extremely high for what's offered, especially if you're coming in with family. If you're looking for a romantic, local place to try once, especially for a date night, I'd still recommend stopping by. We came for dinner, and the lighting was very dim, making it hard to read the menu (they also use QR codes, but I prefer a physical menu). Unfortunately, the entrées didn't impress. The Camarones de Don Lupe were chewy and tasted previously frozen, however the salsa they came with was very tasty and the carne en su jugo was just okay. Overall, great vibe but overpriced for the food quality. I might return for brunch since I've heard they have live mariachi.

The interior has a true, old school, country diner vibe that instantly is relaxing and welcoming. The waitresses are easy going, friendly, and very on top of checking on diners & keeping our drinks full. On our very first visit, our waitress recommended the freshly made potato chips that come with house made bleu cheese and/or ranch and they are AMAZING!! It's the first thing we order and it's something we crave. Breakfast is served all day. At our latest visit, we had a feast. We started with the chips we'd been craving, had the Grilled BLT burger, Classic Eggs Benedict, and finished it all with coconut cream pie and apple pie à la mode. SO GOOD!! Considering the generous entree portions AND our scrumptious desserts, we took half of the chips and dressing home. (And they reheated beautifully in the air fryer!)
