My friend ended up inviting me to this place when I was in Miami for work. It was so good. I definitely need to visit this place again. We got a section and my friend order food for the group. They order the jerk chicken and I got the oxtails. All the food was good. I ordered an old fashioned and it wasn't good at all. All in all this was a good experience. read more

Dukunoo - Oxtails and Rice and Peas - Caribbean Near Me - Miami, Florida

Great atmosphere and music, but the food and service were a major letdown The atmosphere at Dukunoo is definitely the best part. The music was great, the vibe was lively, and they had the NFL season opener playing on multiple screens, which made for a fun environment. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once the food arrived. We ordered the Lik Yuh Fingas Oxtail, which came served in a small Dutch pot. The presentation was really nice, but unfortunately, that was probably the best part of the dish. The oxtail was mostly bones and fat, with very little actual meat. The rice and peas were cold and undercooked, which was especially disappointing. We also ordered the Yard Style Fried Chicken. I was expecting crispy, flavorful fried chicken, but it was the complete opposite. The chicken was soggy, not crispy at all, and basically tasteless. I ate one piece and did not even bother with the rest. The gravy was honestly the highlight of the entire meal. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Ackee Rolls and Pressed Plantain Bites. They were okay, but once again, both tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The service was another major issue. Our waitress took our order and then disappeared. She never came back to check on us, never asked if we needed anything, and did not even ask if we wanted water. At these prices, basic attentive service should be expected. And that is the biggest problem. The prices are outrageous for the quality of food being served. You are paying premium prices for what is ultimately pretty standard Jamaican food, and the execution just was not there. Dukunoo has a lot going for it. The music, atmosphere, decor, and overall vibe are great. But the food quality, freshness, service, and pricing need significant improvement. Right now, you are paying more for the atmosphere than the actual dining experience. read more

Dukunoo 20/20 OMG! What is there NOT to say about this place?! We arrived a few minutes before they opened and quickly learned why making a reservation, especially on a Saturday...is the smart thing to do. By the time the doors opened, there was already a line forming behind us. THIS PLACE IS LITTT! The vibe is definitely part restaurant, part party. Once the DJ gets going, just know you're not coming here for a quiet little brunch. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but if you sit outside, be prepared for that Miami heat AND to be a little closer to all the music and action. I was celebrating my birthday and our waitress, Charley, was an absolute DREAM! She took such good care of us and made sure the shots kept coming. And coming. I ordered the Smoked BBQ Beef Rib Platter, and the portion was HUGE. Everything was super tasty, especially the sides. My only critique was that I wish the beef rib had been just a tad more tender. I also ordered the Malibu Mojito, which was sooo good. I think I had about 12. Okay, maybe not 12, but clearly I enjoyed them! Service did slow down a little once things got really busy, and one of our dishes came out a little cold, but neither was enough to ruin the experience. Overall, Dukunoo is a MUST for me whenever I'm in Miami. Good food, GOOD drinks, music, energy and a whole vibe. If you want somewhere you can eat and turn up without having to go anywhere else afterward, this is it! My ratings: Food: 9/10 Drinks: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Birthday behavior: 20/10 read more

I honestly don't have much to say other than I went in for the vibes and decided to get some food. The vibes were good as was the service. Until I ordered oxtails and was brought out a plate of what looks to be beef neck bones. I didn't make a fuss, because apparently this has been trending lately with some establishments swapping out other things to cut ox tail cost. I quietly left and wouldn't buy food here again. read more

Dukunoo in Wynwood is definitely the place to be on a Sunday! I went with some family and friends and we had such a great time. The outdoor vibe was everything and the DJ was playing reggae and dancehall, which really set the tone and kept the energy going all day. We started with the Crispy Ackee Rolls with Coconut Scotchie Dip and the jerk wings -- both were so flavorful and absolutely delicious. To drink, I had the One Love and the Wild Side Rum Punch, and both were so good! The atmosphere, food, drinks, and music made for such a fun experience. Definitely a great spot to hang out with family and friends, enjoy amazing vibes, and have great food and cocktails. My only tip: come early when they open! By the time we were leaving, there was already a line forming, so this spot definitely gets busy for a reason. Will absolutely be back again soon! read more

We came here for dinner our first night in Miami. We had a reservation, but even when we showed up the line was out the door with reservations. After about an hour, we were able to get in. We received our drinks fairly quickly and the food wasn't far behind. The rasta pasta was an 8/10. The flavor was there, but I prefer a bit more sauce. The plantains were absolutely delicious! My sister enjoyed the oxtails and said they were full of flavor and so tender. The fish was cooked perfectly! The atmosphere is a night life vibe. The waiters are friendly and helpful with suggestions. The music is also great selection. read more

Dukunoo absolutely lived up to the hype. I came here for dinner and ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and a side of festival. Everything was incredible. The oxtail was tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone. It was so good that I couldn't wait until I got home to finish my leftovers. I ended up eating them in the car. The restaurant itself is spacious, with plenty of seating both inside and outside. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, and the place was packed when I visited. Be prepared to wait, but trust me, it's worth it. The drinks were another highlight. They were sweet, strong, and complemented the meal perfectly. DJ Bre kept the vibe going all night with a great mix of music that added to the overall experience without overpowering the conversation. Great food, great drinks, and great energy. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm craving Jamaican food in Miami. read more

Couple's Date Night was a birthday dinner for the bestie at Dukunoo. Really cute trendy spot...a whole vibe. Definitely a youthful, party type atmosphere which I happen to love. If you're over 45 it may be a bit much. All the jerk is amazing. The Mac and cheese was really good. The drinks slap. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I'm already planning on going back. read more

We visited during Art Basel, and the energy was electric. I ordered the oxtail eggs Benedict along with a hibiscus mocktail. Both beautifully presented. The table next to us even sent over a round of shots, which added to the fun, lively vibe of the evening. Our food took about 40 minutes, a bit on the longer side, but considering the packed crowd and the fact that everything was made to order, it was worth the wait. The oxtail had a subtle touch of sweetness that complemented the dish nicely, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The small side of sweet plantains tied it all together for a well-balanced, flavorful dining experience. read more

I have been here 3 times this month already. The drinks are pretty good. I have tried so many items on the menu but the jerk chicken pasta is my favorite. Dukunoo was a top tier experience during my visit to Miami! I was looking for a unique brunch experience while I was in town from Houston. I told my cousin I wanted to prioritize the food over the vibe, and she delivered with this restaurant. The food was spectacular!!! I was surprised to learn that weekend brunch included a buffet option. Not too many places do brunch buffets after COVID. My favorite items on the buffet were the fried chicken, sweet potatoes mini pies, and brown butter waffle. To top it off, my party also did the bottomless mimosas and tried 3/4 of the flavors. Service was GREAT! I wish I remembered the gentleman's name, he was a really good server. read more

Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen is a VIBE. The energy and crowd is so lively and contiguous. I strongly recommend with you want authentic Jamaican cousins and a dope experience with music. Food: We had the oxtail with white rice and the fried chicken with side with veggies. My goodness the oxtail comes in a small steal pot and falling off the bone. The fried chicken was well season and the rice and peas is so flavorful and tasty! The drinks especially the rum punch is fruit but very strong and will get you drunk lol. Service: our waitress was so amazing! She's very attentive, provides recommendation for various food options. Our waitress was such a vibe she was dancing along with us and provided a safe space to be ourselves! Ambiance: is so lively, open seating for small or large groups. There's inside and outside seating. The scenery is designed to feel in a party mode. Let's not forget the have a live DJ spinning the latest R&B, hip hop, and banging dancehall. THE HOME FRIES GO CRAZY! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a good time. Shoutout to the staff for being so accommodating, we had a big group and they seemed to be fine with it and not annoyed, like other places probably would be! It was a balmy midday Friday in Miami, and in the epicenter of Wynwood's action with hustle and bustle everywhere. For my coworker's birthday, we hit up Dukanoo, a spot I'd had bookmarked and was itching to try--perfect timing for lunch when it wasn't crazy packed. Inside, the heat had us sitting nice and cool, so we got started right away with their Natural Island Juice and Passion Fruit Lemonade mocktails --delicious and light, perfect for this weather. However, let me tell you the star for me was ordering their Escovitch Fried Fish Sandwich--hands down the best fish sandwich I've had in a while. Rich, flaky filet with that thick, lovely texture--every bite m, including their sweet potato fries, was a real win for me. My colleagues were chowing down on their wings, bang bang shrimp and 'festivals', which is a version of what I know as Sint Maarten's version to 'Johnny cakes', a fried dough perfection that's a staple side on islanders plates. No complaints or even much words from my colleagues as they were quietly enjoying their dishes, all positive signs for me. If you're in the mood to switch things up to party mode, swing back later for happy hour that rolls into an island vibe that only my Caribbean posse with understand. They've got a weekend brunch only menu that's now a MUST for me to check out cause if it's anything like that fish sandwich then I know it will be just as fire, if not better. read more

We had the most amazing time while dining at Dukunoo! Perfect location for my crew - right around the corner from the Wynwood Walls. The music was bumpin. The service was excellent. The art on the walls was a whole vibe in itself. And the food and drinks were delicious. What more could you ask for? Umm...perhaps a shorter wait for a table?!? Yes, but without a reservation, we weren't complaining! We popped in during Saturday brunch so the menu was limited but there were great choices. I had the jerk chicken...scrumptious! My hubby had the chicken and waffles...OMG, delicious! My bro had the Ackee...too small of a portion for his liking, and sis had the chicken and waffles too, again - delish. We will DEFINITELY return when traveling to/through Miami again!!!! read more

My Wife and I enjoyed a date night out. I have been wanting to try this place for the longest. I'm completely shocked by the low star rating. We had a great time, great service, and great music. The service was amazing and I wish I can remember our servers name but he made sure we were well taken care of. He gave us recommendations for drinks. And there were no disappointment in the drinks or food. The DJ kept us rocking in our seats as we ate. I loved the dine in so this review is not about that however , I need to call today to discuss their deceptive prices. My mom and I dined in we had 1 market price fish, 1 curry shrimp , side of plantains , salt fish fritters and ackee egg rolls and 2 drinks , 2 alkaline water. The bill was 232.00 with gratuity included. Fine, young lady text me my bill great service. Be careful at the BAR! Drinks are severely over priced and I am a frequent and will NEVER go back again. $92.00for 1 shot of Clase A Azule and 1 house margarita? How ? 66 for the shot alone When all the food we ate was nearly half that. The margarita is 18.90 so the shot is 66 bucks??? For 1 shot! , and I tipped so the bill will be 108. Outrageous Something is a miss. They never give you an itemized at the bar but charge outrageous prices. I did not even get a receipt the bar was so busy. Be careful spending here and ask for an itemized receipt every-time. read more
