While the tacos were good, they're not something I would crave. To be fair to Miggy's, I'm not a huge fan of Tex Mex. I'm a recent transplant to TX and just don't get Tex Mex. I lived in Southern California & Arizona for a long time and prefer CA/AZ style tacos (corn tortillas, no cheese & full salsa bar) over Tex Mex tacos. Culinaria puts on some pretty stellar events that help raise funds for some great causes. This particular event highlights some great local food trucks that many San Antonians are fond of. Keep in mind you do have to pay for your food at the food trucks. But with the amount of free alcohol your drinking for ten bucks it's totally fine in my books to pay for my food! This year featured Lick, Duk Truck, Sirwacha, and many many more. It was pretty awesome how they even had Church's Chicken for those who aren't so adventurous. A particular hit amongst the kids from what I saw. Which leads me to my next fave thing about this event- it's kid and family friendly! As the adults are getting their wine-on, the kiddos are able to get their face painted, enjoy some photo booths, munch on popcorn and cotton candy, and even enjoy some carnival style games. I have to tell you these buns are NO JOKE. The buns were super soft, the meat was melt in your mouth tender mixed with unexpected greens and other ingredients. It was heavenly! The salad was not your everyday salad. It was high class, very well made with goat cheese, pear, etc. I can't say enough good things about the DUK Truck. For the Asian steamed buns alone, it is a five star food truck hands down! I might have to start stalking them to satisfy my cravings. I know they also visit some of the bigger condo developments like The Flats in Southtown. The two women who run it are great at what they do! Friendly and attentive. Sure enough, last weekend I visited them again with the intentions of buying my food, but she had remembered and gave me my order on the house without me asking at all. Now the food. I've got to say, the poutine fries and curds are awesome. The fries themselves are a little limp and not my favorite, but the cheese curds are spicy and to die for. Works well with the poutine. I wish you could order just the cheese curds with poutine and leave off the fries. They have a good variety of burgers and hot dogs including Bacon Mac 'n' Cheese, Guacamole, Mushroom Swiss, chili, Poblano, queso jalapeño burgers.
