Stopped by here on the way back from Marysville. Hubby was wanting some breakfast and yelped this place. I sure am glad we did! It is in a little town and looks just like you think a small diner in a small town would look like. As we entered, you could tell that it was a spot for the locals to eat breakfast and lunch. I ordered the chicken fried steak and I can't rave enough about how good it was! The crust on the outside of the steak was so crunchy that you could hear when I stabbed my fork through it! Awesome! The gravy is one of the best that I have had! My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, a cup of chili, and we shared an order of french toast. He really liked the biscuits and gravy, me not so much. I'm not really a biscuit kind of girl, but I could tell that the biscuits were soft and fluffy! The chili was really good and had some heat in it, but not too much. You could definitely still taste the flavors that were in the chili. Hubby poured some over his biscuits and gravy (there was a special on the menu that had this combo) and he seemed to like it. The only down point was the french toast, it was soft and fluffy, but it was lacking in the flavor department. Not bland, but just not enough flavor for me. It didn't make the whole meal fail, but it is the only thing that didn't meet our expectations. All the dishes were affordable and pretty cheap :) (that's why we got so many dishes). If we were heading this way again, we would make this one of our stops along the way! read more

By far the best breakfast in the Yuba/ Marysville area, the gravy and the chili are hand made by the owner every morning using her fathers recipes. Great service, great food, ALWAYS BUSY. You can expect at least a 1/2 hour wait when they are at their peak times, but the wait is always worth it. read more

I love the Mary Jane Special! The best biscuits and gravy with chili on top I have ever tried. I have also tried their strawberry crepes and those were scrumptious as well. The location isn't the greatest but the food is the best. read more

We had a wonderful family Sunday breakfast this morning at Dukes Diner. It was clean, the staff was friendly, food came out promptly and was warm and delicious. not to mention the price was very reasonable. We will defiantly be dinning her more frequently. read more

Wife and I were scouting out eateries in the Olivehurst area for the motorcycle club I belong to..We'd heard about Duke's Diner from "Good Morning,Sacramento".Once you step inside you travel back at least 30 years in time.The ambiance and service are both efficient and very friendly.It's the food,though,that really catches one's attention. Breakfast is amazing here!! Lunch is food as well. My only complaint is I went in to pick up my food and the young lady behind the counter was complaining the whole time about wanting her shift to be over. While I understand the feeling, its not the best look to be the one behind the counter complaining while customers are waiting. read more

This place was amazing. I was here for the weekend and was craving a sweet breakfast. I NEEDED waffles. After looking around Yelp, I found this place and did not regret my decision. Sorry but the only thing I can say is nice waitress... ordered a club sandwich it was horrible... brown lettuce, and the sandwich was weird... it was all broken, large thick pieces of turkey on one part no bacon on others, unfortunately came home and got sick... think turkey was bad. I visited Duke's Diner on 11/25/2017. I am new to the area and went there on recommendations from other family whom have lived here most of their lives, I took my disabled Mother, my Daughter, her husband and child, and myself. We entered and they were very busy. The waitress then selected a table for us and began clearing it for us to be seated. Before she finished the owner walked up and took that table from us to accommodate another party whom entered after us. She then tried to seat us at another table which required my disabled Mother to slide herself into a very cramped seating area. I complained about the situation and was told by the owner that I could wait for another table to open if I wanted. I stated that we were here before the other party to which she replied that she did not care. She was very snide in her tone. I then stated that I was going to write a review of this situation on the internet, to which she again replied that she did not care. My Mother uses a walker to get around, it was very obvious that she was disabled, I'm wearing a Military Veteran Hat, its obvious that I'm a vet too. Apparently this is the way that the owner of Duke's Diner treats their disabled and Veteran customers. Totally unacceptable. As we left we could see her in the kitchen laughing and looking at us. It was obvious to me that the party who entered after us was her friends. We went to IHOP and had a wonderful breakfast. They too were very busy but they treated us with great respect. I wonder how the original owner and founder of Duke's Diner would have treated us in the same situation? From what I hear about him, it would have been a much different experience. The current owner has no idea, I take me family out for breakfast quite often, she just lost a potential customer through her horrible attitude. Dukes bakes the absolute best biscuits in this area. Bar none. They are only open until 3 (I think) and I work for a living, so I only eat there for an occasional weekend breakfast. I don't know about their lunches. Breakfasts all have name of daughters and granddaughters, and the whole place has a 'homey' atmosphere. The biscuits and gravy plate comes with or without chili. Either way, you can't go wrong. read more

We are on our way to look at some puppies in Oroville. We stopped for some breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised . We haven't had a good breakfast from a diner in a long time . 3 of us ordered the breakfast special and one omelet. Everything was very good . I'm torn because the food is great and normally the service is great. There is one waitress I try to stay away from, she always seems unhappy and once spilled water on my husband and his sandwich and all she did was bring him new bread for it (15 minutes later).
