What a pleasant surprise. Me and my husband live in the Fall River area for now close to five years and we wanted something a little different for breakfast date so when I found Dukes on yelp, I thought lets try-this spot out. It's a bakery, but who knows the breakfast could be great. So happy I was right I usually do not go for chicken and waffles. I don't trust that it can be done well but these gluten-free waffles and this wonderfully cooked chicken and the candied Bacon were phenomenal, the flaxseed toast that my husband had was a game changer. The cooks and bakers at Dukes have been making gluten-free dairy free items for years and you can tell that they have mastered the craft. I loved that when I left the place I did not feel bloated. It was a wonderful change of pace. The service was lovely. Our young server was so helpful on helping us choose what to pack and give us recommendations. I will be coming back with some of my girlfriends to try the rest of menu. Loved our experience. read more

Went to Duke's Bakery for breakfast with my husband this morning. It was our first time here. We will FOR SURE be back. The atmosphere was great, the food was DELICIOUS, and our server was friendly and informative. I have Celiac Disease and I felt very safe eating here. I ordered the Belgian waffle with strawberry sauce, which was perfect. Just the right amount of Sweet and I didn't even need the syrup. My non gluten free husband ordered a breakfast bowl and said multiple times that it was delicious. We also got a few goodies to take home to enjoy later. If you're gluten free you must go to Dukes!! Had an unbelievable bacon, egg & cheese sandwich and a yummy breakfast bowl. The bowl was huge and I couldn't finish it in one sitting. They also offer a ton of different dessert and pastry items. We tried a couple muffins which were great! We had the regular iced coffee which was strong and delicious. Hear amazing things about the lunch , loved the backed good and for a family who is dairy free and gluten free we love the options they have. So we stopped by for a late lunch today. Only us and one other couple. My wife and I ordered hamburgers. Took almost 30 min for them to come out after ordering. If you are gluten-free, vegan, or dairy free; you should definitely head to Duke's in Fall River. The food is delicious with good portion sizes. Beautiful spot. Super clean. Everything was so so good. Like not gluten free food but good by anyone's standards. We live three hours away but we will definitely be coming up and visiting again and taking some stuff home to freeze. I was so excited to come to Dukes haven't been their since they were on Columbia st but I was very disappointed I got calzones which hardly had any filling and the dough wasn't great at all ended up throwing them all out I didn't mind paying the price I paid if they were good but sadly they were not good my coffee was good that was it and the owner well she wasn't very pleasant at all lesson learned never will go their again felt so uncomfortable in their sorry for the bad review.. read more

I have never had a dining experience like what just happened. We tried to order at the counter and were told to take a table and some one would be over to take our order. We waited 10 minutes and we're told "I will be right over" only to watch her do all sorts of random tasks before finally coming over to take our order. Then we began to wait. And wait. And wait longer. All this time we watch others come in and place orders at the counter and walk away with their food while we continue to wait. Finally someone comes over and asks to take our order when we share that we've already placed our order she went to the kitchen she came back to tell us that the order hadn't been sent back to the kitchen. At this point we had been there for 45 minutes total. It wasn't even super busy so I have no idea why the service was so terrible. And why were they so insistent that we take a table when everyone else was ordering at the counter. I understand that mistakes happen but this was multiple points of bad/no service. And to add insult to it all the staff weren't even apologetic about the mistakes. This makes my first one star review because we were so very disappointed by the entire situation. read more

I got a breakfast bowl and it was pretty good, but it was also $12.50. The board says $8.50 for build your own bowl but a lot of the toppings can jack up the price. I got home fries, egg, turkey sausage, spinach ($), avocado ($) and cheese. I would expect the avocado to be an extra cost but the spinach?? I think if they regrouped how a person builds their breakfast bowls it would be more cost effective. It's also confusing because you're grouping in protein with toppings so bacon is the same as mushrooms as extras? I liked the food very much but I found the pricing for this particular items to be ridiculously high. read more

My husband and I had been recommended to this place because of his celiacs. We finally decided to try it today for breakfast and WOW, we were both blown away! The coffee and cocoa were phenomenal, I got the special of biscuits with gravy and 1. You could not tell in the slightest the gravy was not made with GF flour and 2. As a Texan, the sausage gravy tasted as amazing as it does down south. My husband was so excited for chicken and waffles, which were, you guessed it..amazing! The chicken's breading was well spiced and the candied bacon was a great touch. We also got the breakfast taters which it is always so exciting to find places with dedicated fryers. They were delicious but our meals were so large we barely touched them. We both agreed we cannot wait to go back and both really want to try the lunch. The baked goods looked to die for but we were both stuffed and decided to wait on trying any. The only gluten free, vegan and paleo bakery around! It's our favorite and was happy to find this bakery years ago. We live an extremely healthy lifestyle and so glad we can always stop in to have a favorite healthy treat! They also have breakfast and lunch items and we also order our paleo birthday cakes here! In the nine years I've been eating gluten free this is the best gluten free bakery I've ever been to. There's a wide variety of pastries, breads and desserts and everything really is great. i visited this place for breakfast earlier in the week, and all i'm going to say is i will not be returning. my family and i had chosen our table, and we were seated for at least 20 minutes before someone finally came over to take our drink order. when the waitress came over, her demeanor was extremely annoyed. we didn't get a "welcome in, how are you" or anything or the sort. i find it extremely rude and unprofessional. then as we ordered, we couldn't get a word out before the lady kept trying to finish our sentences. i'm not sure what she thought she was doing, because it wasn't helpful and we felt very rushed. the waitress put our order in and we waited 30 minutes before our food came out. we ordered pancakes, and eggs, they take 10 minutes tops to cook. while waiting for our food to come out, not once did someone come over to check on us, or ask us if we needed anything. customer service, where is it??? as our food was brought to our table, the waiter quickly placed our food down and left, he never asked us if we needed anything or told us to enjoy our meal. rude, rude, rude. as i began to take my first bite of food, i look down and there was a hair. i then looked to my family and another person in my party held up their fork and showed the hair in their food. we waited another 10 minutes for someone to not even come to our table, but to walk past us before we told him what happened. he inspected the plates for a good 15 seconds before he finally took the two and brought them into the kitchen. no "i'm so sorry, i'll fix this right away" or anything of the sort. let me also add that we were still charged for the hair filled food. absolutely appalling. then as we were finished with our lukewarm meal, we had to get up and find someone to get our check. not once did someone come over to our table. we were the ones going up to them. one hell of a business! as the check was finally brought to us, the lady kept beating around the bush for a tip. did they deserve a tip? absolutely not. but as the kind hearted people we are, we left a tip. i'm not sure if the employees are paid to stand around doing nothing, or if they were never trained, but a big change needs to happen. this was truly an eye opening experience that showed us what businesses should not look like. this was a complete nightmare, and i'm truly embarrassed for this place. read more
