It didn't appear to be decorated for the specific event we were there for however, except for maybe a colour theme, you definitely won't need additional decorations. Absolutely calming even while everyone was booging to the sounds of DJ *The Nubian Experience* downstairs. There was also a wonderful live band. I went to this venue in late September to see one of my favorite music artists, Elbow. For those unaware, they are a British band from Manchester that's been around since the late 90s, and they're unfortunately more popular in Europe. The songs range from simple ballads and sadder tracks to louder ones, with many featuring a strong orchestral mix, all backed by Guy Garvey's lyrics, which range from soft to booming. In other words, take the old Coldplay (Rush of Blood to the Head period or so) music, make the vocals less falsetto, and add a few more classical instruments, and you have these guys. The opening act that night was Why Bonnie, a soft-spoken artist with a pretty voice who was doing songs entirely on a single guitar, apparently because the rest of the members were sick or something. This led to many of the songs sounding somewhat similar, though I did like a bunch of them. Anyway, outside of the artists, the venue was a bit dark but nice. The main thing to always worry about at venues is the acoustics, and they were fantastic here. There was plenty of room (or, I guess, you could say Elbow room in this case) with good views from the main area and some space above the stage. The drinks were overpriced, but hey, it's an NYC venue in Williamsburg to boot. The staff were friendly, and it was easy enough to get inside. It's not my favorite venue I've been to, but it worked perfectly for an artist like this. I would recommend them.

While most buildings in NYC are old, the Green Building represented a big part of Brooklyn's…read morehistory. It dates all the back to the 1800s, where it was the home to a number of industrial companies specializing in everything from water pipes to cement. The fact it's adjacent to the Gowanus Canal's waterway made it an attractive spot for businesses. After being the home of a brass foundry for nearly 60 years, it had undergone an extensive renovation in 2008 to become a special events venue that many know and love today. They managed to do all of this while still maintaining its iconic green exterior. Between then and now, it was a destination for Brooklyn weddings, corporate outings, and lots of fun special events. I enjoyed several visits here and was constantly impressed how the team here was able to make every different look so different from each other. Plus the venue staff that worked did a good job in making sure every gathering was a success. Fast forward to current times, the block and as well the surrounding buildings have been purchased by an investment group looking to create more residential spaces. Demolition has already began and is going as of the time of this review. While I can't fault a company for wanting to make some money, I am sad to see more history go by the wayside.

Angelica was wonderful to work with and filled in the gaps and answered questions we may have had. Our wedding coordinator and Angelica handled everything to make our day absolutely perfect.
