Things started off great.  I filled out the online form requesting an estimate and got a phone call shortly afterwards to make an appointment.  One of the owners, Justin, came to my house looked at the duct work and dryer vent and gave me great information about the state of things and what would be needed.  He was very friendly.  So far all was fine. He sent me an estimate by email and I emailed him back to ask if they offered veteran's discounts.  I received no reply.  No worries, people get busy so I emailed him again.  Still no response.  Now I'm thinking that this is not great customer service at all.  Sadly, there are not many companies out there that provide this service, so I call their office leave a message again asking about veteran's discounts and a few other questions.  I NEVER got a call back.   I finally got them to call me by clicking the accept quote button on their invoice.  At that point the office manager called me almost immediately.  I didn't bother asking about the discount at that point as clearly the answer is no.  I scheduled my service. I took off work in order to get the service done.  The day my service was scheduled it had snowed a bit overnight.  This was not a surprise snow..  I'm at home waiting for them to arrive and 5 minutes before the scheduled time I get a call from the office manager saying that they wouldn't be coming.  I was befuddled.  The office manager, Jade, told me that they were not coming because it had snowed.  While I understand that safety is paramount, if you know that you don't work when it snows, and you know that it is going to snow, shouldn't the people you have scheduled also know that you don't work when it snows?  How much work would it have been to call me the day before and say, "Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.  If it snows, we will likely need to reschedule."?  I mention again that I took the day off from work and got a call 5 minutes before that they wouldn't be coming.  That was horrible planning and customer service.  I told Jade that I was not happy with the way events unfolded and explained why.  She got VERY snippy with me and told me that if I didn't stop yelling at her that she would hang up.  I was not yelling at her.  I was not happy and my tone reflected that, but I was certainly not yelling at her or even rude to her.  Her reaction was ridiculous.  After arranging to reschedule, she told me that she would have one of the owners call me.  I was not shocked when no one called me.  I don't know if it's because Jade didn't bother to tell them or if they just didn't care.   You may be asking yourself why in the world I was still on their books after all this.  Why didn't I cancel?  I tried to find another company to provide the service, but I wasn't able to find anyone and the work was truly necessary. On the date of my rescheduled service everything went well.  The 3 guys who came and did the service were very friendly and did a great job.  I have no issue with them at all.  It is only because of them that this review has 2 stars.   I will also add that this service was extremely expensive.  I was told repeatedly that this was a 4 hour job and would cost $869 dollars.  That seemed okay for 3 guys at 4 hours, but the work actually only took 2.5 hours. read more

From start to finish, our experience with DuctMedic was fantastic. There was ease of scheduling and a window was given. It ended up that they were running late due to a job running long; both the office and the technician called me to give me a heads up and a new ETA. That open line of communication was much appreciated. When they arrived, I had zero air flow coming thru the duct. There was a damaged part of the duct that they were able to repair it on a whim, and now, we're getting tremendous air flow. They recommended that for our duct situation, we get it cleaned every two years. Well, you can guarantee that two years from today, I'll be calling DuctMedic again. read more

I discovered this company when I needed to get the Dryer duct cleaned where we were renting. They were very professional and courteous. When I ended up buying a home, I also sought out their services. At our new home, the previous owners had installed A poorly configured dryer duct. I ended up removing the unit, and DuctMedic was able to quickly install a new duct for my dryer. I also attempted to get my HVAC ducts cleaned, however I was unable to because of the type of ducts that were used. They explain to me why they were unable to clean them and that it Could cause damage. I explained that the house smelled like smoke, and they offered me their deodorizing spray. When they came out to do my dryer duct, I informed them that it still smelled like smoke. And they attempted another deodorizing spray at no cost. Wonderful service! I dropped my ring down the air duct and Wes Ammons got it out! It was in a tricky place but he didn't give up and even went under the house to detach the duct to get it. Posting this for my mom. We are so tremendously grateful to Dustin for the extraordinary help he provided my folks and their new kitty. "Jackson, aka KettleCorn, came home with us last Sunday after a good samaritan had taken him to the CASPCA when he saw other street cats picking on him. He believed the cat had been left behind by a woman who moved. We thought his hard times were over when we moved him into his own room with excellent hideouts, food, toys and a plush new bed. But in the middle of the night he panicked, upturned a 4 x 10" heat vent cover and threw his 12 pounds into the furnace ductwork. Firemen came out and checked out the vents, but couldn't find the cat. CSPACA staff offered encouragement and tips. But it was Dustin Kerns, Foreman at DuctMedic who didn't quit til he'd saved our cat. He made precise, then larger and larger cuts in the ceiling for a total of about 8 hours over 3 days to ultimately locate and free a very scared 3 year old Maine Coon. Jackson is currently recovering in the small bathroom he ran right into when Dustin pulled him out by the tail from a small duct he couldn't turn around in. They cleaned ducts in first floor of our house and replaced flexible ducts that were damaged from previous owner's neglect.
