I was contacted a short time later that someone would be out between noon and 4. Relieved, I got back to work. It was close to 3 when the nice young man arrived. I let him in and ge went right to work. Less than 30 minutes later, he'd cleaned out and tightened everything that caused the issue. The cost was $120. They answered all my questions, cleaned up after themselves (basement floor was cleaner when they left than it was before they started the project). They had to drill holes in my joists for the line set, that ran from the furnace to the outside of my home. After install was complete, Angel took the time to teach me how to use the humidifier, the new thermostat, and answered all my questions. The city inspector was very impressed on how the whole system was installed, and stated the taping was one of the best he has seen in a long time, the line sets were straight, and the furnace install was perfect. The AC set outdoors was level and was perfectly positioned from the house. My estimate was straight forward, options for the type of furnace and AC were given to me in layman terms so I could understand the options. The benefits of a humidifier were also explained. The male driver was visibly speeding down the road and was upset that someone changed lanes. The driver then tailgated me going down the road. During the time he was waving his arms, shaking his head, and gave me the finger. Clearly he was manic state and should not have been driving. He walked through our house with us to talk options, was very honest and told us what he thought we did (and didn't) need. Also, he scheduled the AC install just one day before a huge heat wave. ("Let me see if I can pull some strings to get this installed before it's too hot.") During install the electrician found that our furnace's transformer had blown. Jordan arranged for their "furnace whisperer" to come out that same afternoon to take a look, free of charge. It was fixed within 30 minutes. When we brought up our concerns directly to the sales rep, particularly the way he was treated him as a person of color. I explained the situation and how we have some allergies, and they took the time to listen and go over all the details. They then recommended Steve who is the go-to guy when it comes to allergies as well as other things related. We set up an appointment with Steve, and Steve arrived early. He set up his equipment and was very mindful about making a mess as well as getting things dirty and wet. He took his time to explain as well as show me what was going on and answer all my questions. Because of allergies Steve took his time and made sure each vent was cleaned as best as possible. The things I saw in the ductwork were scary, which had built up over the years of this property. After he was done, we swapped the air filter and within 20 minutes of running, I could smell the difference in the air. The air felt lighter and did not have a heavy feel. Also, my air purifiers were not reading off the charts anymore. Steve did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him as well as Twin Cities Furnace Cleaning. My claim was declined. The insurance company required unrealistic things like a photo of the space prior to incident showing the hose in place. Who takes pictures of their furnace? This resulted in a costly last-minute repair to my ceiling. Essentially this means that you are at the mercy of a potential crappy insurance policy carried by the contractor and that the owner takes no personal responsibility for potential damage.
