Had the full catfish dinner and it was good, went on a weeknight and the place was empty. Don't know if that's normal but it made the large bar seem even more quiet. Would try again in a weekend to see if that makes a difference. read more

We used to eat here at least 3 times a week....brought our friends and employees......most locals quit coming too. The cook is no good now. Menu is same but everything is over cooked until it's charred and dry, Sometimes inedible. I finally complained the other day and he shrugged his shoulders. Didn't offer to do anything. I called at 6:30 to place a to-go order. I was put on hold for 5 minutes. When I finally got ahold of someone she kept cutting me off in order to talk to other people. It took her 6 minutes to take my order. We were told 20-25 minutes. So we arrived at 7:10, when we were once again told it would be another 10-15 minutes. 10 minutes into our delayed wait the bartenders and cooks started arguing about someone stealing tips, in front of the customers! I was still waiting on my food and the cook was too busy arguing to work on our food. We stood up at 7:30 and the cook came out rushing with our food. Food was good and decently priced. Service was the worst absolute thing you can ever imagine in the history of anything. Oh, wait...I was the server (see the other reviews on this page). You don't know you are supposed to walk to a counter, so you just sit there forever without being greeted. You also get your own drinks and refills, napkins, etc throughout theb course of the meal. No problem. They still expect a tip, so they got a good one. Before the food. No problem. That's the new thing, it's expected. Besides, you might want to come back, so don't shoot yourself in the foot, right? Wrong. We didn't know if we were supposed to take our dishes up to the counter, because we don't want to leave a mess. Nothing like watching four young ladies stand together at the counter doing nothing. We stopped on our way to shop at Hillside nursery and were puzzle surprised with a very clean bar and a menu that was really diverse. my husband chose Carne Asada tacos, which were stuffed full of meat and very tasty. I chose a spinach, watermelon salad and added roast chicken and it was delicious. Service was pleasant and fast. We would definitely stop again if we were back in the woods! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews for any small businesses- I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I've gone here a few times for drinks and that has always been a good experience. However, since opening back up after COVID- service & food has been subpar. They were out of chicken, pulled pork, steak, pizza, etc. We got the pulled pork nachos & asked to substitute ground beef. They told us that was a-okay. After waiting an hour for our food (no shade here, they were busy as hell) we got the nachos with no meat. Then the same gal who rang us up proceeded to say they can't substitute the meat on the nachos... but y'all said... we could when we checked out.. It is what it is. But then my burger was burnt. It wasn't horrible, still ate the whole thing but she was crisp. All in all I think Ducky's is a good place for people with boats who want to enjoy a nice beer & view. But definitely haven't tried any food here that has tickled my fancy. Hope they are recovering from being closed due to COVID! read more

I've only eaten here once, but I kinda love this place. I had a steak sandwich, fries and coleslaw, all of which were on the good side of the Bell Curve. The first room is a spacious restaurant/bar area. The second room is a large screened porch area. And then there's seating outside with a small playground for kids, a sand-filled volleyball court, another bar outside, and a great river view. Plenty of televisions, festive decor, and a video jukebox. We'll definitely be returning! read more

Used to eat here quite a bit but it has gone downhill quite a bit. Service is bad. Really bad. If they are even a little busy and you try to call in an order, they put you on hold and forget about you. And if you do get lucky and actually get to place your order, chances are very good that: (a) they will be out of whatever you order; or (b) when you actually get your order, it will be wrong; or (c) your food will be both overcooked and ice cold by the time you get it. Food was great, service not so much. Went in and sat down for at least five minutes. Not one server come by to see we needed drinks, bring us menus or even tell us how things worked. Three waitresses were eating lunch at a table and two were behind the counter. There would have been a higher score if the place was cleaner (floors, tables, chairs, condiments). Worst dinner ever. No one said it was a self service restaurant. We sat down, expecting for a waitress to take our order as usual. Then after about 5 minutes, I saw a sign that said place order. Placed our order, paid,had to go to another place to get an iced tea. Then we waited over 30 minutes for our food. When they finally called our number, our tenderloins were terribly overcooked and bubbling with grease. Side dishes were about 2 tablespoons in a plastic cup! Horrible service. The kitchen had one big order and it backed everything up. Over a hour wait for a burger, pork chop sandwich and a rib eye sandwich. Would have been better off going to HyVee. We would do Hardee's over this place. To make it even better they messed up on the salad dressing and put the cottage cheese butt up against the hot burger. We threw in out because it was SO warm. A great place to hang out! Plenty of outdoor seating as well as seating on their screened in deck. The view of the river is great and creates a very chill, laid back vibe. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Sweet corn nuggets or hog wild wings are our usual starter, both are delicious. The grilled tenderloin is my usual go to but they have specials every day during the week which are all very good choices as well. Beer is cold and service is usually very friendly. When I looked at all of the other reviews I was surprised to see the amount of negative reviews! This is a nice family bar and grill great for breakfast lunch and dinner! You can come by boat or car. In a sheer act of spontaneity, my friend and I decided to travel from downtown Davenport to Taylor Ridge just to visit Ducky's Lagoon. A co-worker raved about the food and we were in the mood for some meat. The exterior is somewhat off-putting with a run-down appearance and blaring music. Thankfully the interior is an improvement. Once inside, making our way past the bar, we found a no-nonsense but clean dining area. The music was much more subdued allowing us to have pleasant conversation. The staff was very friendly and informative, educating us on the quality of the burgers and tenderloins. I was impressed with the freshness of the burger. The 100% chuck was as advertised: nothing gourmet, but very satisfying. The crisp fries and flavorful baked beans were also pleasant surprises. My friend ordered the over-sized tenderloin and took most of it home. Prices are reasonable for the quantity of food. If you're looking for a gourmet burger with exotic toppings, this is not the place. But if you're looking for fresh beef and a pleasant experience, then you will enjoy Ducky's Lagoon. read more

Very disappointed for the first time in over a decade. If you're boating don't come to Ducky's to eat. They just told us we had to sit outside of the restaurant because we don't have pants on. Our group spent over $250 on just food not including drinks. The sign says no shirt, no shoes, no service. We all have swimsuit cover ups & shoes on. They also got most of our order wrong. read more

Friends of mine moved to Taylor Ridge about a year ago. We've gone to the restaurant when I've visited and I think the place is fantastic. We sat out in the screened patio and really enjoyed ourselves. The food is good and the drinks are reasonable. Service is good and very casual. read more
