Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. I had the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake on Saturday night and have been dealing with digestive issues ever since--now on day three. The complimentary rolls didn't arrive until we asked for them, and only once our entrées were served. On a positive note, the calamari was tasty, though a bit too heavily breaded for my liking. The restaurant itself feels quite dated and could really use a remodel--it has a very early '90s vibe. Food was great. Service was not. Arrived 6:30 pm on Sunday 5/24 for birthday dinner for 12 year old. he requested this place. 5 people eating 2 adults 2 12 year olds and 7 year old. All drank water 4 endless shrimp and one mac and cheese kids meal. Took 15 min or longer for water not biscuits were ready (understandable). After waiting 2 other tables set in our section. We at this time had no drinks or biscuits. Both tables got drinks and biscuits before us. Food came out at this time we needed 2 water refills put cups at end of table. Mom ate her plate and finished still no water, or biscuits mom then turned plate side ways, dad finished pushed plate forward then both 12 year olds finished. Mom took all plates and stacked them no needing 4 waters refilled and shrimp refills and 7 year old almost done. Finally wait staff came got what refills were reminded we had no biscuits (dad wanted his biscuits:). And that we needed water. Waited more time food came out. Shortly needed more water which was never filled until dad and one 12 year old did one more round of shrimp. Requested the bday boy treat and she asked what he would like. As we had not been here since the location in our city closed thought they may have changed things. Brought out shrimp refills and informed us that the desert he ordered we would have to pay for but she could give him a scoop of ice cream ( which never came). I'm truly disappointed because I was really looking forward to this meal. I do think it matters what day you come.... We were here this February and everything was excellent, but it was 11:30 on a Wednesday. This time it was lunchtime on Saturday, and there was a marked difference. I 'created my own' feast, and had to send back my lobster tail because the meat itself was dark grey and almost black along the edges. I've never seen a lobster tail look like that, my waitress said she 'did not notice that' and was apologetic. The one she brought back didn't look much better but thankfully tasted good. You think if you've been to one chain you've been to the all. Well I stand corrected. My family and I went here unexpectedly for dinner the night I flew in. I haven't been to Red Lobster in well over a year and I was pleasantly surprised at the new menu changes. Of course some of the items are gone but they upgraded others. They have hand breaded tenders now and I was quite surprised to see that. Major upgrade from the frozen ones they used to have. Of course the cheddar bay biscuits were the star and I forgot to even get a picture because as soon as the bread hit the table it was gone lol. For dinner I opted for the coconut shrimp dinner with broccoli and baked potato. The shrimp was perfectly fried and crispy my sides were also good. The pina colada sauce that you get with the shrimp you must get extra because it is that good. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy to go along with the coconut battered shrimp. We were too full for dessert. Our sever Rhonda was the best. She kept the refills up and the order of shrimps coming as my father had endless shrimp. As soon as we walked in I noticed a smell. We used the restroom to wash our hands before being seated. The women's smelled like a diaper pail. Not of one dirty diaper, but many. We were seated quickly but no matter where we went there was a stench. To be honest it smelled like the place was cleaned with a mop bucket of dirty water that had sat for days. Unprofessional employees can ruin a business. With Red Lobster in financial trouble this is something that should really be examined. My husband and I have always been fans of Red Lobster, but after last night we will not be returning to its Davenport location, ever. We knew it would be busy as it was Valentine's Day, so we ordered online and did a curbside pickup which we have done many times in the past. We arrived on time and called the number on the sign to let staff know we had arrived. The first time we called no one answered. I called back and I told the employee that I was waiting for a curbside pickup and it was hung up on aggressively. I called back two more times with no answer. The third time the same person answered and when I told her I was waiting for a curbside order she stated, "It will be out shortly." she didn't ask for my name or parking space number. I told her my name and space number anyway, but she didn't seem to care. We waited another 20 minutes. No one came out so my husband went inside. He said that there were three people at the bar chatting with four bags of food in front of them. He asked if one of the bags were his and the waitress said, "Probably." Then turned her back to him and continued talking to her coworkers. He took his bag of food and left the other three sitting there. I am a reasonable person who understands that it was a busy night, but the behavior of the employees was improper and disrespectful. To top it all off, when we got home we realized the food was cold and tasteless. (I wish I would have taken pictures.) Terrible service! Party of 7. Called 2 hrs ahead (although they don't take reservations). Still waited over 30 minutes for our table. Had to ask for rolls after sitting over 30 minutes. I went to this Red Lobster twice in the past 2 weeks for Crabfest. Our first visit was very nice and of course the Garlic Butter Crab was excellent. So we decided to go again and this time I had the Le mon Pepper Crab, which was also very tasty. There was no issue with the food at all, everyone enjoyed it, and we all had the Crab. The problem was the server on our second visit. First off my grandson ordered a Watermelon Martini, instead she brought him a Watermelon Margarita. He said he would drink it anyway and she said she would give it to him for same price as the Martini. We placed our order. We asked for more biscuits and never received those, nor did we see the server again until she came over to do the little machine on the table so I could pay the bill. In reviewing the bill I noticed she did not reduce the price on the watermelon margarita. I reminded her of that and she did remove it from the bill. Then she asked how much of a tip are you leaving. I Saud what are the options. She said 20% and 25%. I knew she was lying because the week before on a paper there was three choices. I was flabbergasted, orcI would have thought quick enough to say the tip would be cash. But I didn't and just told her 20%. That by the way came out to 34.00 and change. I feel cheated because honestly she was not worthy of a tip at all. I do not have an issue with paying a nice tip, but these servers need to earn that 20 to 30 per cent. I think Red Lobster needs to retrain some of there servers. Therefore I am rating you at 2 stars. Very unhappy about this visit. There had to be added sugar. It was crazy. The lobster on the mashed potatoes was okay, but the potatoes themselves were lumpy and bland, and the portion size was tiny. My mom got the unlimited shrimp dinner ($18. For $18, I could cook her SO MUCH SHRIMP, and she only got like 1 extra plate of food. Highway robbery, I'm telling you) and she let me try her shrimp alfredo, which looked and tasted exactly like Elmer's glue. I found refuge in the warm cheddar biscuits, which came free and in unlimited quantities and were, without qualification, my favorite part of the meal. My dining partner got a linguine w/ lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, clams all in white wine and garlic sauce. He had it before during Lobster Fest and is still smitten. I did read the reviews before I went this time and was surprised to see how very poor reviews RED L. got. As soon as I walked in the door I started seeing just why these people were giving such a lousy reviews. I was seated quickly but the greeter was Stone Cold no personality and just took me to a booth and said here. The snow crab legs had zero taste - shockingly bland, even when I dipped it in butter. Live lobster was tough - I couldn't eat it and the claw meat I had to spit out - it tasted mealy. The Brussels sprouts were oily & over salted. The baked potato wasn't cooked all the way & the lobster sauce amount was pitiful & watery. This was supposed to be a birthday meal splurge. Additionally, the crab cakes were mostly breading and not good. I, not caring much for seafood, ordered the pork chop with apple compote. Unfortunately, the chef forgot the apple compote, so I was left with a dry, strangely spicy pork chop and some chokingly spicy broccoli on the side. Yum. The Hostess station was over crowed with waiters (at times I counted 7). The manager was less then useful to the team, since she just ran around the restaurant not doing much of anything. I had a collection of shrimp that was fairly tasty, but the shrimp scampi I found to be rather nasty - the oils used just weren't for me.
