Fantastic breakfast spot in Orange Beach. I had the French Toast with a side of bologna. French toast was huge, three thick pieces with great, subtle flavor. Bologna was a fairly good sized piece. On our vacation we went to duck's for lunch. It had a good crowd and was still offering breakfast but we opted for the recommended salads. The salads were average at best and overpriced for iceberg lettuce. Service was good and I hear the breakfast is good. read more

This place was recommended by a local. We waited over an hour and waited another 35 minutes on our breakfast once we sat down. I had the breakfast burrito and my parents had omlets. My burrito was good but their food was cold. I will never eat here again. read more

Our party of 8 enjoyed everything about this place. We had omelets, biscuits, oatmeal, and a bunch of other things off the menu. Everything was delicious. Meh, not great but not terrible. Biscuits looked pretty good, gravy was standard. I ordered a BLT that had 2 paper thin pieces of bacon on it. I ordered more and was charged $3.25. Kid friendly diner. The waitress was nice and professional. She tried to be helpful about kid friendly places to go in town. It's right off the golf resort so most of the customers are very conservative and were talking loudly about politics. If trump isn't your go to dude you might want to steer clear of this local as your ears will burn right off your head. My daughter had a bagel and fresh fruit which she loved. I had the banana pecan pancakes. They were okay but the bananas and pecans had been blended before being added to the pancakes and I wasn't a big fan of that. It's just cane sugar syrup and margarine a typical diner place but it wasn't bad at all and I'd eat there again if in a pinch. The coffee here is pretty good as well. read more

A good place for breakfast. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. My only issue was that I wanted biscuits and gravy but they only serve gravy made with meat in it. I wish they'd had plain white country gravy. I had to settle for a plain biscuit and pancake. I left disappointed. read more

We came to this place a couple of yeats ago and were wowed by the crab and swiss cheese omelete, were disappointed to find its no longer on the menu. They do have good breakfasts at a an average price with average service, though. Eggs were properly prepared. Probably the best thing was the bisquits. read more

I can't say enough about the service and quality food we enjoyed on our visit to Duck's. So many things on the menu we wanted to try, but chose the country fried steak and gravy with hash browns, grits and eggs, and pecan chocolate chip pancake. We also enjoyed breakfast margaritas. Wow! I can't decide if my favorite part was the breakfast margarita, which is like a mixture of a mimosa and a margarita, the waffle or the country fried steak. It was all so tasty. Arrived quickly and eggs were cooked perfectly. Our server, Bennie, was very attentive and answered all of our questions as well as made drink suggestions, ensuring we were happy with each drink he prepared us. Over all a great experience. Ducks will now be a regular stop on our beach visits. read more

We use to love Ducks Diner, but over the last couple years they have gotten more rude. They shy down on kids and make them feel like they are a nuisance. We however today gave them another chance and when we walked in the door they were once again RUDE! There overall waitress attitude continues to fail us. read more

Overall the experience was good. It took a few minutes to even get seated Bc no one was at the hostess stand when we arrived, and then once seated, it was still more waiting for our server. But once she got our drinks and got the order going, she was more attentive. We went just before 12, and there was no wait at all. The food was terrific. Their sweet potato casserole was some of the best I'd ever had! My husband's chicken fried chicken was cooked perfectly. The price is just right too! Great local play to stop in and try! read more

Iced tea had NO ICE....... then someone came out of the kitchen with our food and said 'I wasn't sure what you meant about a toasted biscuit but we can't do it.....' if you don't understand ask the customer. Each time we are in the Gulf Shores area we try to eat breakfast at Duck's. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is consistently good.

Great food and service. Although breakfast is their "thing", the non-breakfast offerings are great too. It is somewhat off the beaten path, but enough people find it to keep it crowded right up to closing time at 2pm. They make homemade corned beef hash which was really good. The omelets looked really good too with lots of ingredients. Homemade biscuits but they were out of bacon jam which was the reason I got a biscuit. I give them a 3.5 for being out of bacon jam and Server forgot the jam and said they were heating it up but much later came back to say they were out. I think that should have been told to us prior to the order coming out. read more

We were a little afraid of what this would be like after reading the reviews about service but our service was excellent. The food however was not, pancakes must have been microwaved because they were rubbery, the biscuit was typical food service frozen/heat and serve type and my omelet left much to be desired. Very disappointing considering everything we read about how good the food was. To top it off, 15 minutes after eating I was sick. Not a good experience. read more

We have been to duck's many times before and always loved it. Our first trip to the area in 2013, we ended up going pretty much every day for breakfast which we got to know the family (and chatty Justin, haha) who owned the place at the time and it gave us more of a reason to go again summer 2014. The food and service was always beyond our exceptions and felt like we were treated like family every time we came. We decided against staying in Orange Beach this year and drove all the way over from Pensacola just have Ducks... Much to our disappointment after making the drive the restaurant is under new ownership and the atmosphere has completely changed. Do not get me wrong when I say the food is still good and worthwhile if you want a decent breakfast but the incentive us to go to Ducks anymore is no longer there. read more

We ate lunch there on a Friday. I would not say it was much beyond ordinary. The service was fine and the place was clean. The food was very average. I left wondering if we should not have had breakfast there instead of lunch. Breakfast might have been better from some of the reviews I have read. I would go back, but would probably try someplace else first. read more

My wife and I stopped for lunch after 9 holes of golf. What a great little place. It has a cute decor and feels like a homemade food establishment. Beer and drinks are available if you choose. The food and service was great. The hash browns were done nice and crispy. This may sound strange, but the tater tots were the best I've ever had. We will be returning. read more

Went to Ducks several times during a week-long visit and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch (they are not open for dinner.) Big menu! At lunch enjoyed a delicious special order Reuben sandwich--made with turkey instead of corned beef. Great turkey and beef burgers, other sandwiches and blue plates, too. For breakfast I enjoyed eggs, bacon, grits and biscuit - good basic breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, family-run, and prices are reasonable. Check them out. read more
