It really is a quaint and charming space. Starting with the room: (we were in Quissett) we had a super comfy and plush king size bed with a bathroom on the small side. I'd say the one caveat/warning I have is for light sleepers - since you are a throwing rock's distance away from the ferry, you will likely hear the ferry fog horn each time it leaves the port. The remainder of the building was so cute and quaint with beautiful floors, and the best breakfast. You cannot miss their homemade granola which pairs perfectly with the yogurt. They had different main dishes everyday including quiches, scrambled eggs, and egg bakes, as well as desserts (the cranberry bread was our favorite) and fresh fruit. It was all amazing, and the coffee was solid! Parking was literally right behind the building. You are right in Woods Hole walking distance from several eateries. We didn't get any bikes to explore further but I would recommend looking into this! Above all, I cannot speak highly enough of how kind and helpful all the staff were. It like the main building were very well decorated and furnished. While the main building was built in the late 1800s and therefore more solid of a structure the Roxanne is a newer addition. The only issue my wife and I had staying in the Roxanne is that we could hear guests above us from time to time and when guests went up and down stairs. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. We were given great suggestions for things to do as well which we took advantage of on our last day and we're so glad we did. On our last morning we let them know we were leaving early for the airport and they dropped off homemade strawberry scones which were the perfect on the go breakfast for our ferry ride back to Woods Hole. We also had a room on the Main Street and there is a loud bar outside our window that closed at 2:00 am. On Saturday night you can hear the people in line and music. Sunday morning they have early morning garbage trucks. I would stay here again due to location and views but perhaps stay on other side of hotel.

And the decor is lovely: fresh flowers, glass ware, plates. The food was hit and miss. First, I really loved my lavender lemonade. It was one of the best mocktails I've ever had. And I like the prefix menu concept. The meal started with a cold soup, which was delicious. Then there was a mushroom gnocchi; the sauce/flavor was delicious though the gnocchi were a little chewy. The bread they bought to the table was terrible. There were two different kinds and both were tough and flavorless. For my first course, I had a salad, which was fine though unremarkable. My main course was the fluke. It was described as golden crusted fluke, and I was disappointed when it arrived fried. It was served on top of some vegetables, including some very vinegar potatoes. There was a lingonberry sauce on top, which was excellent, but everything else was not very good. I was pretty disappointed. My fish was dry and a tad fishy tasting. I also tasted the pork belly, which was good and the wagyu which I thought was just OK. I got to taste all of the desserts. There were some interesting flavors such as the strawberry rhubarb, but some really odd textures like the cake in that dessert. The chocolate dessert was OK. Would I go back? Sure.
