DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had my tires installed by them back in November all was well until my back right tire started vibrating at high speeds and then got worse quickly from there. I checked my tire and two of the lugs were gone! when I replaced them myself this morning, all the others were loose as well. I brought the car in and asked them why my lugs were never checked and tightened during my oil changes in the past 7 months. They denied all responsibility and simply torqued the lugs while the car was still on the ground. The negligence demonstrated here could have gotten me or someone else killed since I drive back and forth from Hartford to Willimantic everyday. They will not see me here ever again and you should not get service here either. read more

I have all of my vehicles serviced by Dubois auto since they started their business in Andover. They have always been honest and the work they have been doing on my vehicles has been great. My last jeep lasted 15 years and 220,000 miles from the service I received. My second jeep is still running after 21 years with over 200,000 miles. read more

Typical auto shop. Roll you in get started and then bend you over. Dubois actually means bank robber in french. We brought our minivan in to have an oil change and the AC checked out. They call me and tell me we need some parts for the AC it will be 300 parts and labor. I agree. The next day they say oops sorry there is rust on the bracket it will now be 780 to fix. Then they ask me if I want to buy a fuel injector service for 99 dollars, also the transmission has a slight leak and should be fixed at 180, and there is only 20% left on your brakes and they can fix that for only 690 dollars. Hmmmm um NO THANKs. I asked what I owed so far and it was $50 for the oil change an tire rotation. I paid that and said. See you later! Go here only when you feel like you haven't been screwed by the rest of the world. They will take care of that feeling for you. They will leave you satisfied knowing that yes there are people who still like to stick it to you, and your parents were right in telling you that not everyone is honest and hardworking. read more

My truck broke down a few weeks ago and it was right down the road from dubios so i figured id get towed there. HUGE mistake. My truck would basically stall when you tried to start it and randomly while it was running. They diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump. They charged me $760 to replace it and I thought that was expensive, but I paid and was on my way. A few days later I'm on my way home and the truck dies when Im at a red light in traffic. It was terrible. I got a tow back to dubios (Which was about 20 mins away) and they put in a new EGR valve for $250 and sent me on my way. What kind of a business makes a mistake and replaces the wrong part without testing? I deserved a refund. I paid for their mistake. Never going back and I highly suggest you don't go there either. read more

I totally disagree with above post. I have had my two SUVs worked on multiple times at the shop and they have done an excellent job. The dealership I went to first wasted thousands of dollars and could not resolve the problem...when I took my car to Dubois..he fixed it THE FIRST TIME. His diagnostic skills are EXCELLENT. He finds out what is really wrong with your vehicle. He will give you the option of course to fix it or not...and try to work within your budget. You are under no obligation to fix things you don't want to! You can always drive your car to the ground or just pray for luck if you can't afford, don't want to fix certain issues..which I did on a former car I owned and that was fine. I would rather know the truth about what is wrong with my vehicle and make an educated decision on what to repair...even if it is a big fix. Because I want to be safe and I want my children to be safe. I want to take my car on vacations and not worry about breaking down in a snowstorm or on the back roads of the White Mountains. And Dubois enables me to do that by doing complete safety checks on my vehicles anytime I ask. They are extremely friendly and will bend over backwards to make sure you are satisfied. They will tell you the truth about what needs to get done. And who likes to spend money on your car? I know I don't. But if I have to, I would rather know it was well spent on things I decided to repair then throw thousands down the toilet because the mechanics at the dealership need to follow manufacturers protocols...NOT the mechanics fault of course..its just the way dealerships must run. I would recommend Dubois to ANYONE! Don't blast the mechanic because your car is aging and falling apart! Its just his job to diagnose it. YOU make the decision about what you repair or don't repair. And you always have the option for a second opinion somewhere else. No one can open your wallet but you. Thank you Dubois for all you do for my family and for keeping my family safe! Nothing but happy with my experiences with this shop. Unlike the previous reviewer I WANT to know about things wrong with my truck or my car that I wouldn't know about normally. I dont spend to much time under my car and dont have x-ray vision to see what my brakes look like so I appreciate them letting me know. Is it good for their business to point stuff out...sure...but it also makes me feel safer knowing that my brakes are good, my steering is tight etc etc.. I'll keep coming back!! read more

I was traveling into Coventry Ct. (from Dutchess County NY) to purchase a motorcycle when my truck broke down several miles from my destination. I attempted to "limp" my truck to where I needed to go in the hopes that I can deal with it there and not on the roadside. That clearly wasn't happening as it felt as if my wheel was close to coming off. I was unable to safely steer my vehicle at this point so I decided I need to stop immediately. As luck would have it, I was about to stop and across the street was the only auto repair shop I seen during my several mile drive on the shoulder. I went inside and was greeted by a really nice secretary who I explained my problem to. During my cry for help, a man came from the back of the office and quickly offered to take a look at my truck while advising me that he couldn't get my truck fixed that day because they were already booked up for the day. I was willing to take whatever help offered to me so I obliged. This man who I later identified as the shop owner and that I must add was well dressed with slacks and a button up shirt, got on his hands and knees and attempted to identify the problem. He then lifted my truck up with a floor jack and determined the exact issue of a bad hub/bearing assembly. Again, he advised me that he couldn't help me any further and I would have to leave the truck overnight. That wasn't an option for me and I was only one mile from the motorcycle I traveled all this way to buy. I thanked him for his time and told him I'll try to figure something else out. He kindly offered to let me remain in his parking lot to do so. After some time of getting nowhere with my insurance company's roadside assistance and without coming up with any other solution, I went back into the office to ask the secretary if she could recommend another reputable shop who can help me right away. Like the first time I went in, this same man came from the back as I was asking and offered to take my truck in right away once he received the parts. I'm not sure if he heard my desperation or frustration but this man pushed other already scheduled repairs to the side and also with a short staff that day. I am a complete stranger and from out of town. To me this was the most selfless act and sincerely compassionate towards my dilemma. I'm not even local so this wasn't a way to gain my business which is rare these days. So in my truck went! Now I'm trying to figure out how to still make this trip worth it and purchase this bike I came out here for. I was able to arrange for the person who was selling the bike to come drop it off at the repair shop and do the deal there which was another favor to ask of someone. The bike was dropped off to me while my truck was still on the lift being repaired. I now needed to figure out how to get it onto my truck. The owner of the shop even after all he's offered and done for me at this point, still continued to help me. Once my truck was finished, he and one of his techs came out with a motorcycle ramp and helped me load the bike up. This shop happened to have a motorcycle ramp! What are the odds?? I cannot express the gratitude I have for this business owner Tom Dubois, his wife and staff. They turned a bad situation into such a pleasant experience. I couldn't recommend them enough and I wish their shop was local to me. The people of that area are lucky to have a shop like this. I am in no way happy about breaking down. However, I am certainly happy I ended up at Dubois Automotive. I've dealt with many businesses and this is actually my first review i've ever written. I felt it necessary to share this story and give my opinion of this experience. I think this level of service will be hard to top. Many thanks again to Tom and his crew!
