One of the cutest coffee shops in Frederick! Their coffee is like no other and is always really strong, making it the perfect pick-me-up and located in a convenient location. I've never had a latte that was too sweet-- which happens at a lot of other establishments. Though one thing I have noticed is that sometimes flavored lattes just taste like hot coffee and steamed milk. The liking all depends on the consumer. :) Service has always been kind and courteous! There are many tables to sit at. During busy hours it can be quite hectic, although early mornings are fairly peaceful. They have many flavors to choose from! The decor inside is beautiful. Parking can be tough but is available out front. I recommend this place to everyone looking for a good coffee. :) read more

This is one of my fav coffee shops in the local area. The prices are great and the coffee is delish. The ambiance is nice for working or honestly just taking a nap. Serena the owner is so hospitable. The shop closes at 3 but she let me stay well until after 4:00 pm. They also have food items including vegan sandwiches, which I highly recommend. Parking is ample along with a tented outdoor seating area. read more

I love this place, am a regular, and would normally give it a GREAT review. The staff has always been fantastic, welcoming, provides awesome customer service, and well brewed coffee/espresso drinks/lattes... HOWEVER, something has changed recently in the quality of service provided, and for the past full month every time I order from here, my order is messed up and is either missing the extra shot or something else. Not sure what's going on, but I hope the quality of the service/product returns to its usual awesomeness soon. The new team just seems to not take pride in their work, which has never been the Dublin staff's vibe. Dublin is one of my and my wife's favorite spots in Frederick. My experience at this cafe almost makes me wish I lived in Frederick, MD. From the quirky-but-well-appointed layout, to the spectacular baked goods, to the funky nicknacks available for sale, to the awesome barista -- this was one of the most pleasant coffee shop experiences I've ever had. Try the almond bars, they're like a less strange halvah-blondie-fudge hybrid of magical deliciousness. My chai latte with almond milk was the best chai latte I've ever had. My friend also enjoyed her black coffee. Upon overhearing that it was my friend's birthday the day before, the barista brought her several cake balls to go, on the house. I imagine this place would be a great place to get work done, as it is spacious and the seating is plentiful and spaced-out. I look forward to stopping here again as a rest-stop on one of my long roadtrips back up to NY. Check this place out! =) read more

This place is my home away from home, and it feels that way when you step through the front door! It's cozy and they always have something new from a local artisan to look at while you wait for a drink. The staff is amazingly friendly and will help you with any questions you might have. And man do they know their coffee! First of all you can sample the roasts, secondly the prices are super affordable!! I have to say, I have never had better coffee anywhere. Ever! I personally like the lighter roasts, they have amazing flavor profiles depending on where they are from, and you can TASTE the difference!! Seriously amazing. Tried this out last Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that it's an old school coffee house. Eclectic, homey, a little worn, you want to stay here forever. I had a drink called the dirty hippy which was sweet and strong and delicious. My daughter had hot chocolate that was also lovely! It was a bit crowded, and service at the register was casual- not fast ;). But very friendly. We also got pastries from the case- I got a cinnamon roll and my daughter got a cookie. Neither was fresh and we ended up not eating them. That was the only negative. We will return! read more

Can't say enough positives about this place. It was my first time bringing the whole fam damily. My middle is getting into coffee and liked the vibe. There were some ladies there with a couple of whippet hounds and they had just enjoyed a couple of puppicinos. We ordered some grub and my wife told me the gluten free bagel actually tasted like a bagel as opposed to a Persian rug on a camels back. I enjoyed a great egg sandwich with turkey sausage. I never eat non pork sausage but I make an exception here. It's a great gathering spot. I saw some kids working on homework with their grandparents. People just gathering and enjoying the morning. The Foxy Loxy is phenomenal: herb cream cheese on everything bagel with lemon, smoked salmon, and sometimes a sprig of fresh dill. YUM! The food and coffee were average but the very short woman behind the counter was SO RUDE. She was nasty and short to her co workers as well as my friend and I when we were trying to order . I have been to this place three times in the last two weeks. I actually live in Montgomery County and this location is a 30 minutes drive but somehow I like it as a weekend entertainment. Every sunday, there is live music and often times there are extra performances on other days. Regular and flavored Coffee is very very delicious. Better than the wake up coffee I drink in chain coffee shops. They give you a mug for $3 and you can refill it as many times as you wish so I could try all different tastes. They are all organic and flavored ones are their own recipe with natural ingredients. Other than coffee, this place has a very interesting layout with many rooms that one can book in advance and use for small (up to 5-10 people at max) gatherings. I did not use that yet. They have some pastries and deserts and they are OK but not as great as the coffee. Based on my experience I recommend this place which I saw as a friendly environment with respectful locals. read more

Dublin Roasters is an adorable coffee shop just outside of downtown Frederick. They have a variety of delicious and unique coffee options and a menu that has breakfast and lunch. I had a breakfast sandwich and I will admit it was just okay, nothing to write home about but it was still good! The service here is really what put this coffee shop over the top for me. The people are very friendly and it is a great little place to hang out on a Sunday morning. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. They also regularly have little yard sales and things available to buy set up in their outdoor area which I love to browse through. A little hipster joint in the middle of nowhere. The employees are so laid back but still aware enough to help customers. The woman at the counter knew all about the ingredients and allergens. Good: coffee is all organic and fair trade, gluten-free bagels and bread, vegan and gluten-free homemade baked goods (a little sweet), spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Been here several times on my way to work, no the way home, for girl's coffee moment with my seester. They roast coffee in house, what more can I say? they have a nice selection of coffee's from around the world. They also offer local culture for view or for sale through the store - love the paintings and decor around the place. Also love the stereotypical relaxing coffee house feel that's really in a re-purposed commercial/industrial garage with an outdoor patio area under an awning. (I'm in love!!!) Not to mention the prices are affordable (only $2 and change for coffee if you bring your own cup) and a nice assortment of coffee drinks and creamers ( for the dairy and non-dairy loving type.) They also offer teas, honey sticks and lovely little accouterments to go with your beverage or sammich from their deli case. It looks like a hole in the wall, but it's surprisingly decorative on the inside. The space is huge, and as someone said the layout is a bit awkward as though they didn't know how to fill it. They sell coffee and tea and whatever, and you can even buy local artwork off the walls which is kinda cool. There's a stage where I guess they have local performances sometime. And the latte I got was alright. But this place isn't really my cup of tea (hah, see what I did there). It's very like holistic and hipster. When I stopped in, there was a woman stationed towards the front doing tarot card readings and swinging around a healing crystal. And from some of the local flyers, it seems like that's the kind of crowd this place attracts. As a coffee lover who has lived 23 years in the quaint neighborhood of western New Market, you may be able to imagine my surprise when I discovered that a true, bona fide coffee roaster would be coming to town. I first got a taste of Dublin Roasters Coffee after picking up a bag of "Highlander Grogg" in whole bean form at Frederick's organic co-op supermarket, Common Market. A few months later, I learned that the roaster of said coffee would be uprooting itself to downtown New Market. Dublin Roasters is no Starbucks. As you walk through New Market, the unique waft of fresh roasting coffee beans draws you over to a humble side-street with a tiny building where you will be greeted by Serina Roy; owner and master roaster of Dublin Roasters Coffee. To your left as you enter the cozy cottage that this shop is located in, you can watch as coffee beans are being freshly roasted. There's always a "roast of the day" available for you to try for free, in a paper to-go cup or a ceramic tea cup. (The coffee isn't terribly hot if you go late in the day, so go early or see if you can have it heated up!) Serina is always overjoyed to have customers and to answer any questions you may have about her business. Sit down at the counter and have a chat, or go upstairs and relax in the new lounge area she's been working on. The aforementioned Highlander Grogg is Dublin Roasters' most popular flavored coffee, and for good reason. It is a delicious mix of buttery rum and caramel and it makes a great dessert coffee. Serina also has created a special blend for Frederick's famous Volt restaurant, appropriately named the "Volt Blend". There's a variety of common coffee flavors, along with a few more adventurous ones like orange, and of course, the regular coffee blends like Colombian and French Roast. Nothing quite compares to buying freshly roasted coffee beans (you may even get a bag of beans that are still warm from roasting!) and making a cup of coffee out of them on the same day. Popped into Dublin Roasters for a mom group meet up. I just had a latte and my little one has some sort of cranberry nut bread. I find that, as time goes on, those sugary coffee wannabe drinks are not appealing to me so it's nice to go somewhere where the coffee is center stage but they still offer a couple other options if you feel like it. The bread thing was really good, too. Everything in the case was homemade and looked a lot like stuff my Grammy used to make. I also love that they have lots of art work around which adds to the nice overall feel of the place. I understand it's not a kid's place but I'd be more inclined to pop in if they had at least some tasty drink option for the kiddo. read more

Best coffee hangout in frederick. Great coffee. Organic and fair trade. Flavored coffee is my fav. (Highlander Grogg, Bunny Wabbit Blend, & at Halloween there is a Screaming Zombie blend). Great friendly staff, real comfy couches and chairs. It's just like going to a friend's house to visit and having coffee. Sometimes we are so comfortable there, they have to kick us out! They have a Sunday farmers market in the summer. Some very nice, unique entertainment at various times. Please note, the Dublin Roasters I am reviewing is at 1780 North Market St in Frederick, not New Market.... I work right next door to their Frederick location. I am at the point where I get at least one cup per day, quite often two or three. They always have about 5 or 6 choices of coffees to choose from, and probably a few dozen varieties to choose from if you want to grab a some ground or whole bean coffee to bring home to brew at your own place. I now exclusively brew Dublin Roasters coffee at home. Lately I've been getting their Cookies n Creme blend. The smell of the coffee being roasted is amazing. I never would have guessed it could smell that nice. My experience with smelling coffee had always been the smell of it BREWING, but the smell of it ROASTING is amazing. I go for the Bunny Wabbit blend, the Highlander Grogg, the Rainforest crunch, the Volt blend, and a few other real good blends. The Tanzania peaberry is nice and strong. I love all the flavors. It's al organic, all fair-trade, and all good. Small cup is $1, large cup is $2. They have other drinks, too, like lattes and all that stuff. Some great natural sodas in the cooler. Local jellies and honey and other stuff, as well as local art on the walls. The store is set up to welcome you in and encourage you to sit in a comfortable chair and relax. Free wifi is available. There are books and magazines to take (to even take home if you want - they encourage borrowing and trading). read more

This place is just perfection. My favorites are Highlander Grogg and the Italian blend. Volt blend is also pretty delicious. Everything is fresh and the aroma is almost overwhelming. They are so kind, Serina Roy is just the nicest. She always responds to any problems we have and is always helpful when we see her. It's a great store with all sorts of great knick knacks and places to hang around. I've never had a bad experience. My husband had trouble getting an order online once but it was due to a change in their system and it was immediately addressed when he brought it up. Definitely give this coffee a try. My whole family is hooked and any friends I introduce to it are equally impressed. It's a great company and a great product. Get some Highlander Grogg in your life! read more

I wasn't expecting much based on the exterior but looks can be deceiving. The atmosphere is ok; I wish it was a bit more homey and warm. The space is pretty big and it looks like they weren't able to fully figure out how to utilize it properly, but again, not bad just a bit cold feeling. There are soups and sandwiches on the menu and we got the BLT, grilled cheese and tomato soup along with drip coffee and a latte. The coffee was really good, I would definitely come back for it. I had visited Dublin Roasters in New Market once and liked it. Now that they are located on N. Market Street, 5 minutes... no more like 3 minutes from my house, I visit as often as I can. I love their Dublin Special coffee, and buy a pound now and then. I have tried only a couple of blends, but I like them all so far. I can tell the difference in the freshness since it is roasted that morning. I also think the store is lovely to sit and relax in. Nice soft cushy furniture that is not so old and dirty that you're not sure you want to touch it. Happy to have them here in Frederick! read more

Just stopped in for the first time today. I found out about them when I asked Frederick Coffee Co where they roast their coffee- Dublin Roasters. I had to come straight to the source to find Highlander Grogg which is not always sold at F.C.Co. Their coffee is some of the best in town. They have quick service, friendly staff, and comfortable seating. The only drawback on the ambiance is that feels a bit cluttered with chotchkies. They could level up on the "industrial" look that they hint at with the corrugated metal walls. They are on the right track and we will be back for more coffee! read more

This is what it is all about... passion. Coffee roasted onsite from a careful and thoughtful selection of beans is the definition of fresh brewed. The other selections beyond straight up coffee are also tasty (and I don't normally go for iced or other varieties of coffee-flavored beverages).
