Infront of bus local and long distance bus stop.(goes to Queens) few blocks from grand central station. The store is pretty big so you won't bump into other customers in the end. Since they sell ready foods: salad, sandwiches, and fruits etc.... I highly recommended to stop by here :) esp, super early morning, or late night travelers. It's located at 3rd ave few blocks from grand central station. There're an ATM machine (Citibank) and recycle bottle machine (giving out 5c) at the entrance. read more

We stopped in for some travel packs of tissues and medical packs but they didn't have what we needed. read more

Duane Reade or Walgreens. It's conveniently located a few blocks from our hotel. Was looking for a bigger bottle of cold coffee brew for my husband and some snacks. Grabbed some flamin hot items, latte coffee, granola bars, Haribo and some ginger shots. The items for sale are very random. We didn't really find any one item we were looking for in the end though. read more

Duane Reade is a rather large convenience style store, it's in a rather good location on 3rd Avenue and is fairly close to Grand Central Terminal and the United Nations, making it a useful location for my hotel. I was surprised at the lack of self-scanning machines (there was none) which would have been useful, however, the selection was pretty selection especially with the large selection of cold beverages including Starbucks iced coffees and teas, the latter under the Teavana brand. The prices seemed reasonably priced as well compared to other stores nearby and service at the checkout was pretty quick overall. The store did seem to promote a pharmacy which I presume was either inside or nearby, the store overall did seem pretty modern too. Probably my favourite Duane Reade store in NYC which although could do with some improvements is four-star worthy. 4* read more

Mark (Mike?) the pharmacist who helped me on wed July 12 late afternoon was wonderful. My MD had originally sent my scripts to Duane Reade 931 First Ave NYC who informed me when I arrived to pick up that they were unable to fill until the next day due to change over in system. I called my doctor to transfer the scripts and informed the pharmacy cashier that that doctor was sending the scripts to another store. He responded with a very dismissive "OK" without asking me any further information. when I arrived at third and 44 St I was informed that the prior script had not been cancelled and that could not be filled with so many scripts out there for controlled substance. Mark spent over an hour trying to reach the other store in order to cancel the prior scripts and fill them for much needed pain relievers. He then spent time explaining to me the care required for taking the meds. He was great! read more

This review is about the pharmacy branch itself, not the store as a whole. How can folks complain about THIS pharmacy branch ? The gals that work there are very nice people and total pros at their jobs. Yes, there ARE absolutely problems that need to be ironed out on the communication between the online ordering stuff and the pharmacy's receiving OF those orders. But that's the parent company's issue, not the peeps at this branch. Lucky to have them as my local pharmacy! read more

Stay away from the Duane Reade Pharmacy at 711 3rd Avenue. The woman who is the pharmacist there has a real negative hostile altitude. I called yesterday for a refill on three prescriptions. The first was for Latanoprost eyedrop for 75 days. She said I could not refill until 1/1/24. I last refilled that prescription on 09/14 which is now way past 75 days. Huh? My other two prescriptions (9/14) she would also not refill (ok -- maybe too early). But when i put it on the website to refill Latanoprost -- it was obviously deleted. So i put in the request again online. Checked again. Nothing there. Never have experienced that before with Walgreen. They have always given me a status online. Don't know for sure -- but i am sure that that wicked angry pharmacy witch of 711 3rd Avenue cancelled my prescriptions. So -- i contacted the Walgreens near where I live here in the Bronx. All three prescriptions have been filled out and picked up. Folks -- stay away from the pharmacy at 711 3rd Avenue. That pharmacist has anger issues and can not properly and professionally serve the public. read more

This a two level Duane Reade open 24 hours. Full service pharmacy, otc meds, a wide array of grocery type items including many microwave-ables. Don't forget a six pack of beer or another tasty beverage to go before you leave. Staying in a hotel around the corner there was an unfortunate need for a heating pad and pain meds. As I approached checkout a selection of chips and snacks, beer and a bag of ice found it's way into my basket. They saved my day by having very large and durable shopping bags to get it all back to my room. Convenient, fast service in and out, a bit shell shocked on some prices but what would you expect in mid-town Manhattan? read more

This is honestly one of the nicest Duane Reade stores I've ever been to. Mind you, it's in Midtown Manhattan, surrounded by tons of corporate offices, but it has anything/everything you'd expect to find at a Duane Reade, and more. The facility itself is immaculate with a ground level and lower level. The lower level is where you find the personal items (cosmetics, toiletries, pharmacy, and DR Minute Clinic.) I specifically visited this location the other day for the DR Minute Clinic. The Nurse Practitioner was fantastic. I had scheduled an appointment online, arrived a few minutes early, and the NP took me in a few minutes early, at the sacrifice of her own lunch. After just a chat for a few minutes, she gave me some advise about the service she can offer vs other options, rather than going through the motions when her help would be limited, due to my unique circumstance. Because of her fantastic advise, I was able to get my issue taken care of much more quickly and with less risk of exacerbating it. I'm really glad to have been gone and guided in the appropriate direction, rather than allowing the issue to linger. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism of this NP; I only wish I knew her name to give her a shout-out. I don't think you could go wrong by visiting this location. read more

I was very pleased to see this store. It wasn't on Yelp, so I thought I was not going to be able to pick up last minute plane-sized toiletries before getting on the E train. Luckily, I did! It's a large store with a basement area. There is an elevator, so handicap accessible. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard one. read more

4 employees and 1 customer at the register. We still had to wait 5 minutes in line. Service sucks here! If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

TL;DR -- do NOT come here for your photo needs! I had a review here of three stars originally, but readjusting it due to the horrible service and unreliability. I had when printing photos here. I submitted an order for a 24x36 and an 11x14 photo on Friday afternoon at this location, and went to pick it up on Sunday. They attendant told me the order was not ready, and I left my number for someone to call me back the next day to let me know when to pick it up. I went back to the department Monday afternoon, and the order was still not ready, for reasons that seemed very vague. I was once again told to call back on Tuesday or that someone would contact me. On Tuesday, I called the store and the attendant told me they did not have the paper for the 24x36 roll and that the 11x14 photo was picked up the previous Saturday at 10 am and paid for -- I was in my pajamas at my apartment Saturday morning! I had to resubmit my order, and am still waiting to see if I'll actually get the photos. The service and accountability has been terrible, and I will never be coming back to this location for photo needs. read more

A friend & I went to this store today and it's one of the most attractive Duane Reades I've ever been to. It's very large (with a lower level) and it has a great selection. Also, the two clerks who helped me find items were *very* pleasant and helpful. read more

This place is a joke. Their shelves are never stocked, they gave zero inventory and the pharmacy is a horror . One person working the desk who screws up and never gets there on time. And their prices can be triple the price of other stores. I was quoted a price of 900 for a med that I got for 100 !!!Go to cvs down the block !!! read more

Decent service and speed. Pretty clean and somewhat organized, however, the way it's organized is a bit hard to find things. Pharmacy and daily supplies are mainly downstairs if you take the escalator. Food, toys/gifts, and school/work supplies are upstairs on the first floor. Not hard to find and pretty convenient with the 6 train and a couple different bus stops at walking distance. Orange, yellow, and the 7 train aren't too far away either. read more
