Dr. Rowe is the best optometrist I have ever seen. Other optometrists have had a hard time getting my contacts prescription right. I have astigmatism and each eye has different needs. Every year when I get a new prescription, Dr. Rowe is willing to see me as many times as necessary until the prescription is right, and will order multiple sets of trial lenses, as needed. He is thorough with his exams and takes time to look back at my past prescriptions, notes, and eye measurements to ensure I have the best possible lenses. In the past, I have seen optometrists who become irritated with me because they cannot figure out why my vision is blurry after a 10 minute exam. Dr. Rowe has never been rude to me or irritated by my questions and sometimes multiple visits. The staff members are all courteous and kind too. read more

The eye doctor there told me that if I didn't use his glaucoma prescription drops I would not be able to see him again. I had to stop the drops due to them making me very ill... I have every right as a patient to refuse that type of medication and be able to get another one instead... He was really rude to me. read more

I can see again! I'd been struggling with sight and went into to see Dr. Rowe. Very nice man, but the bi-focal lenses he prescribed didn't work. Then he tried something else. And then something else. Finally, a breakthrough--and now I can see clearly in both eyes. My point is he and his staff (special mention to Ohi) were awesome because they were emphatic regarding my concerns and didn't give up. And as a writer, I'm ecstatic. :) read more

Dr Rowe was extremely helpful. After doing the initial intake which was done by 4 or 5 machines I then met with him and he then continued the testing of my eyes. He let me know I needed progressive lenses for my line of work after asking me a series of questions. He told me how to practice with them. Because I have one recessive gene for macular degeneration he also said that it would be good to have them be polychromatic. Because I need to always wear shades when out in the sun and if my prescription glasses automatically darken that would help a lot versus taking glasses on and off or switching. He let me know I could also come back if I decided instead of glasses I want contacts. And then he also told me in order for me to do some preventative care for my eyes not getting macular degeneration I should take lutein and eat a lot of greens outside of wearing Dark Shades whenever out in the sun. I was very happy with the service that I received here because it is my first eye exam ever and I am 50 years old. read more

Rowe seems more like a salesman than than a medical professional. He pushed contact lenses on me even after I made clear I was only interested in glasses. My glasses prescription came with a one year expiration date. For my whole life, the standard has been that you get a one-year prescription for contacts, but a two-year prescription for glasses. I do not believe it is medically necessary to get a yearly examination if you are not a contact lens wearer and don't have any sort of risk factors, and especially not if you're prescription has stabilized. Here I am now, trying to get a pair of glasses that fit better with a mask, 14 months after having an eye exam with no change in vision or eye discomfort, and I have to jump through hoops to find a new optometrist. Dr. Rowe should re-examine his ethics and professionalism. There are a lot of poor families in this community and this guy lining his pockets at their expense. I would like to add that the opticians in the attached shop are hardworking and friendly. read more

I starting seeing light flashes in my right eye and was quite concerned. It was a Saturday morning, but I tried calling anyway.The office fit me right in. Dr. Laura was very patient, compassionate, and thorough. Thankfully, my eye is fine. It was such a relief to get it checked out so quickly. Highly recommend. read more

I had a great experience here; from the first phone call to paying the bill everyone was really helpful! I've definitely found my new optometrist! I feel like I am getting the best comprehensive vision care I've ever received. Caring for my eye health- not just getting me in to hurry up, give the script, and get me out. I needed an optometrist that was open Sat as I work during the week & hard to get time off; decided to give this Dr a try connected to Walmart. My prescription was way off from my norm, power was much lower. Thought maybe it was due to it being a bifocal contact this time but I couldn't see well while driving home. Called his office to report this but was told my eyes just needed time to adjust to the new prescription. I couldn't drive in these unsafe conditions so I went back to my old pair contacts & called my regular optometrist for a 2nd opinion. Took the time off work to see him & much better experience- prescription power with bifocal was much closer to my usual & most of all I can see again. I've learned from my mistake & will never go here again. I don't feel he's competent ( his Rx was totally incorrect) , expensive- even with VSP insurance I was charged over $100 for exam vs. $10 copay for my 2nd exam at another office, & no follow-up from his office about my concerns. Horrible! I DON'T RECOMMEND. Go to different office that has integrity. read more

Unfortunately, I was late for my appointment this morning and I apologized. I had to reschedule, because the female doctor (whom I do not know) doesn't like dogs, which I had my service dog with me. I respect that. Not everyone likes dogs and some are terrified of them. What I don't respect is when someone speaks to me like I am a child. The TWO times I've been there or called, the ladies in the front seemed nice. But today I was really put off when the older lady spoke to me like I was ALWAYS rescheduling or ALWAYS late for my appointments. Which is odd, because I was very early for my appointment the first (AND ONLY) time I met with Dr. Rowe. I'm glad I had to reschedule, because it seemed odd to me that I was scheduled with different doctor, when it was supposed to be a follow up, especially with my scratched eye. read more

The doctor over prescribed my glasses and contact lenses. I couldn't wear them for 5 years. It was way too strong. I needed to go to a different doctor to get right prescription. After I went to this doctor, my eye sight started to deteriorate very fast. I heard that eyesight gets worse with wrong prescription. After 5 years, I tried this doctor again because his location was convenient (in Walmart). He under-prescribed this time.I started not to see clearly with my contacts while I was driving. It was only 3 months later I got a new prescription. He can not prescribe right. I don't think I want to go back to this doctor again. read more

The front desk ladies were so sweet, welcoming, make me feel so comfortable since I have anxiety in any Dr. setting. The first woman to run me thru the testing machines was very nice as well, very patient very understanding, again just made me feel comfortable. Then she brought me to the actual exam room and said dr would be right in. Dr Duane Rowe greeted me asked the same questions they woman had, tried to sell me contacts 10 times and finally started the exam. He made me feel so unwelcomed and uncomfortable as if I was annoying him. I hadn't had my eyes checked in over three years so I wasn't answering his questions fast enough it felt. He would ask if A or B was better and I would answer and he would literally say "you just said B was better, now A is?" very passive aggressive. i didn't know i could fail an eye exam!! he was so rude compared to how nice the staff was I was so upset. do better dr duane, do better... read more

I was on vacation and shortly after landing at the airport on a Friday I got a large weird floater in my eye, and the shape of it made me nervous that I may be getting a detached retina. The next morning was Saturday and the floater was still the same so I searched for an eye doctor that was open on a Saturday, and Dr. Rowe was open and fit me in before lunch. The doctor and his assistant were totally thorough giving me every test possible to ensure my eye was OK, the retina was not detaching, I could fly home, and do normal daily vacation activities. Whew, I'm grateful for the office being open on a Saturday, the professionalism and thoroughness of Dr. Rowe and his assistant, and the diagnosis that my retina was not detaching! read more
