She and her staff have always been great on the basics -- eye exams, new glasses and contacts, etc. -- but I recently had more challenging issue that she was able to figure out when no one else could: Around a year and a half ago, I started having discomfort verging on actual pain in my left eye, discomfort that got worse with my rigid gas permeable contacts in -- to the point where I couldn't keep the lenses in more than an hour, maybe 90 minutes on a good day, making them basically useless. I'll spare you the long odyssey of figuring out what was going on, but two ophthalmologists tried to diagnose and treat me over the course of about a year, trying all the obvious stuff (e.g. dry eye issues) and failing to come up with a solution. The treatment involved a very expensive recombinant nerve growth factor -- the cost of which, happily, was covered by my insurance, otherwise it would have been a real hardship. It worked. My eyes are still getting used to me wearing contacts again, but yesterday I had them in for over 7 hours with no problems, and probably could have gone longer. Count me as one very happy patient.

She is the best ophthalmologist I have ever met. Very personable, and professional. I have known…read moreher for 20 years. She has always gone above and beyond what is needed to make the patient comfortable. She is very caring. Hi Caron Aloha Dan(diver)
