Although I was there for a communion, I did not get to see the inside of the restaurant for we were under a tent outside of it. Other than that, the service was pretty good. The servers were pretty quick as well. The food was not that bad, however the fillet mignon could've been a little bit better. Every guests meal was a little bit tasteless... Last night had to be one of my worst dining experiences. We were taking out some friends celebrating their birthdays. I left the restaurant feeling like I wasted time and money. While it's understandable that prices have increased post-COVID, but $25 for a small fried plate of calamari is exaggerated. I also didn't like is the lack of menu explanation, inattentive behavior from the staff, and especially the mishandling of my dinner after finding hair in it, (the waiter changed the plate but put the same steak back on the plate) behaviour like this reflects poorly on the restaurant's service standards. Our waiter never apologized and what made matters worst is the waiters retrieved plates from my party while I was still waiting for my replacement meal, leaving me to dine alone. An experience like this can make a once-favored spot feel entirely unwelcoming. Given my loyalty to this place over the years, after last night's experience I will not be going back. read more

Good food, disappointing size issues . We ordered wrong assuming healthy sized portions . Wrong . The salmon tartare was delicious but just a ramekin portion for $25 . The rack of lamb was also yummy but only a half rack and a small half at that . Thankfully great bread and nibbles to start . We ate in the covid tent which was silly with the tight seating but that was our choice . Our table mates had the tomahawk steak which was very impressive . Depending on whether you want a sit down lunch dinner or take out they have it both....their meats are always fresh....in fact the same owner of the resto is the owner of the butcher store next store so you can't wrong! The waiters are very experienced especially Joe T...always pleasant and accommodating....the food is great and the prices reasonable and it's a bring your wine resto! Eating here made me very VERY happy! The service was excellent and the food was DE.LI.CIOUS!!! It's a sandwich shop. It's a take-out place. It's a restaurant and a butcher. Hence, the name of the restaurant. You order the cut of meat, you then see your waiter go to the butcher section and grab it to take to the kitchen where it is cooked to perfection. Everything we ordered was very good. The fried calamari was light and crispy. The marinara sauce that came with it was the absolute perfect pairing. The bufala insalata was creamy and yet so refreshing. Summer in your mouth. My husband and I shared the 20oz cowboy steak (I believe it's like a porter steak-but can be wrong because I don't remember what the waiter told me because all my attention was on the steak). It was grilled and seasoned to perfection. My mother-in-law had the fettuccine with ragu sauce and she gave us some to taste and it was deliciously well prepared. To end our lunch, my husband ordered a pistachio cake with an espresso. A sweet ending in deed! We're were so full and happy at the end of all this. Let's not forget that this is a BYOB and to me, the prices are very fair for what you get. Our waiter was also great. He was always smiling and so polite yet keeping it all casual. Don't you just love discovering excellent eateries in the places you least expect? That just so happened to me tonight. If you drive out to St-Leonard, hidden in a strip mall you will find the BYOB Du Boucher À La Table. The menu is Italian and is meat-centric as the name might suggest. On a Saturday night the place was packed so you might want to play it safe and reserve. The vibe is that of a casual eatery with a little bit of fine dining thrown into the mix. Here you eat at communal tables and there are no menus. Everything is written on chalkboards. If you're just two (as we were) then you might want to sit at the counter which overlooks the kitchen. Here you get a front row seat to see the chefs whipping up the delicious food you are about to eat. As someone who loves cooking myself I enjoyed watching how a restaurant kitchen works. Like I said before the menu focuses on Italian food. I skipped the antipasto because I wasn't too hungry bt they have the usual ones for an Italian restaurant. For the main course I got casareccia with boar ragu and it was to die for! The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce itself was loaded with boar that had been braised to perfection. I also tried a mouthful of my father's lamb and it was so tender it didn't need a knife to cut it. In addition to bringing your own wine be sure to bring your appetite because the portions here are huge and I can promise that you won't go home hungry. As for the prices they were fair. Most of the main dishes were in the $20 - $30 range and when you consider the portions and quality of the food it seemed reasonable. The overall experience here was a positive one and I will definitely be back in the future to try more of their offerings. read more

Love the location with plenty of parking. Great friendly environment. Love that they carry in store to buy and bring home items that they serve from pasta to the meat. Menu changes every week so order the item you really want as next week it's gone.!! Lol They also have a permanent meat menu. Also lunch menu. The ambiance is ok. But to our utter surprise there was no paper menu. Rather the waiter called out the items on the menu for the day without pointing out the prices or where we could find the prices. We rolled with it to our absolute disappointment. The cowboy steak was tough and way over priced. The osso buco was swimming oil. In the end a complete disappointment and way too pricey for the quality. Service was good. Waiter was nice. read more

Ambience, décor is great. Parking available easy access and accept reservations. It's a BYOB. Food is very tasty but on the rich side. I had the octopus and fish of the day, it was Okay slightly overpriced. I'd say $3-$4 per order. In the end, the place is loud, seems to appeal to the local neighborhood, the service is basic (waiters calling out who had what when serving the dishes and no attention to ddtail) and the biggest annoyance was the $5 charge for flat water refilled in bottles which is not advertised anywhere. The experience is basic, I have no reason to go back as there's better experiences out there for the money. Try it once. read more

Great prices and excellent quality of meat. Despite being mainly a steakhouse, their fish and pasta dishes ares also good. Desserts are mainly brought in, and could be a bit better. It's BYOB so that is a big plus...the only downside is that it can be crowded and a bit noisy. read more

Went and eat here Saturday. I ordered the rib steak after asking asking the waiter what size and grade the steak would be. He told me it was a 16 oz 1855 grade steak which is top quality. The complete opposite of what i got. The steak was a measly 12 oz steak and definitely a regular AA grade steak and not the 1855 I was promised. I'm a butcher and know a steak when I eat it. I have been to this restaurant at least a dozen times. This place is popular because there are very little nice restaurants in the east end. The concept is new and the decor is modern and welcoming. The service is usually good, except for the host who rarely smiles. The waiters are efficient and accommodating with children or with larger groups. I basically go here when I don't feel like cooking or looking for parking in the more trendy neighbourhoods. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes it's mediocre. The pasta dishes are almost always good. Since the place specializes meats, you would expect them to shine in that department. They don't. The meat is good quality but prepared very poorly and even a little too simplistically. I have tried many of their cuts of meat. The tomahawk is just boring and not very tender. The filet mignon is just grilled and served with a sauce that only tastes of salt. There is just a basic flavour component missing in the execution of the meat dishes. Went for dinner with 2 friends. We shared fried calamari and beef tartar - both delicious, not to mention the sausage in tomato sauce they serve at the table with bread, that was good too! I rarely order pasta when I go out to eat because I'm very picky but I ordered the linguini with shrimps, scallops, spinach and sun dried tomatoes and I was not in the least bit disappointed, finished the whole portion which was very generous in size. My friend said her filet mignon melted in her mouth and her fiancé's risotto was very good as well. Restaurant is very nice and service/waiter was great. And it's a BYOW which is always a plus!
