Pulled pork & Cuban sandwiches, side of potatoes with chipotle mayo
    Hannah C.

We had the pulled pork and Cuban sandwiches and both were incredible. The place is small, adorable and friendly with a dreamy international collection of beverages to go with your sandwich!

A fantastic hole-in-the-wall to stop for a sandwich and drink! I had the grilled halloumi sandwich, which featured a delicious and refreshing mint sauce. Despite being a small serving, the flavours were incredible and it was quite filling. A side of fries would be a great touch, so I will order some next time! My partner had the pulled pork and raved about it for the rest of the afternoon. I'll have to return to try the vegan pulled pork option! The servers are efficient and kind, making this a perfect mid-day stop! While seating inside is somewhat limited, there are plenty of picnic tables on the sidewalk outside and in the small backyard.

Ordered their pulled pork sandwich, what got me was the tangy flavour of the lettuce paired with the meat in the bun. Just the perfect combination of sweet and salty! Decent walk from the main road but it's a must try if you're in the neighbourhood! Literally hidden as if it's a secret spot.

This is our kind of place. Straight forward, food focused, decorated like a cozy basement with a vintage look adorned with silly props (like a giant comb), quirky signs and jars in the shape of shorts. This is a great place for to have a satisfying sandwich or burger for lunch. Huge, juicy, fresh, exquisitely seasoned and topped, friendly service with a refreshing smile. Theres nothing about @deplepickup that we don't love!

First heard about it today but it did not disappoint! Ordered the cuban sandwich and the famous pulled pork sandwich. Wow they were both delicious although I have a slight preference for the pulled pork. It was tangy, the pork was tender and the coleslaw was a great texture contrast to the meat. Oh! There was also some hot peppers in the pulled pork sandwich which added a great touch of heat. The cuban sandwich was very good and well balanced in flavor but a bit dry (especially compared to the pulled pork). But flavor was definitely there and all the different meats married well with the mustard. Delicious!

For those who think I only eat at upscale restaurants: WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? Listen to me very carefully, I was never in this scene of the status or the fame. When you guys reach out to me and ask if I eat for free- You might wanna sit down and reevaluate why you wanna do this to begin with. Come talk to me when your credit card statement is starting to look like a restaurant menu. When people ask me where they should go eat and the feedback I get in return is positive? THAT'S what truly make me happy: To be transparent and be reliable. In all honesty, some hidden gems out there just deserve as much recognition as the big boys in the food industry. Le Pick Up looks like your regular convenient store, a little raw. But when they tell you to not judge a book by its cover, they weren't joking. With rock music blasting in the background, while you're sitting by the counter- you know this is the real deal. Juicy, tender, and most importantly mouthwatering- this $10 Cuban sandwich is THE winner. I always have this idea in my head: It this place worth the drive? The answer is yes. I low key wanna know where your favourite sandwich is in Montreal. SUGGEST ME!

Faux porc sandwich! I'm not vegan and it's delicious!

Dropped by on a Saturday afternoon for a sandwich. There was a small line that moved quickly. They had a great selection of beers and drinks and some interesting products for sale in their "depanneur" area. We ordered the haloum and faux porc sandwich. The haloum sandwich was delicious, not too salty but juicy and just enough acid. I had never had cabbage and haloumi before, its a great combo. I'm not vegan but I ordered the faux porc because reviews said it was great and i was really curious. It really exceeded my expectations! The faux porc is this thinly sliced tofu with sauce. The sandwich was so well balanced, the faux porc was great and the slaw, "mayo" and pickles balanced out of the faux porc perfectly. My husband just wanted a bite but ended up eating half of the sandwich because it was so good! Cant believe I haven't been to Le pick-up before, I look forward to coming back!

I randomly bixied by Dépanneur le Pick-Up when I was cruising around the area but for some reason didn't stop to check it out. Lucky, I was back in the Mile Ex area a few days later and stopped this time to check it out. It's location is somewhat hidden in a quiet residential area. Hours are decent. Weekdays are 7:00am - 7:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm. Nothing like grafitti on your sign to give it a cool grunge look. Candice wuz hee. Love the old school diner menu. It's almost a throwback to back in the day diner prices. Couple drink options. Cool that there's also a little grocery market inside.Their pastries looked pretty decadent, especially that lemon square. Matching diner booths and decor to solidify the old school look. Ventured outside while I waited for my grilled sandwich to be made. Love how there's two-seaters to sit at right along the sidewalk. Only in Montreal. - Haloum grillé ($8.00) - grilled haloumi with mint coleslaw. Everything is made to order here and you can tell. The sandwich was bomb. Best vegetarian sandwich I've had. Bread was grilled perfect; crispy, golden, buttery goodness. A huge slab of haloumi cheese awaits inside. The texture of haloumi is satisfying and grilling it made it even more so. The inside is packed with ingredients; red and white cabbage, carrots, onion but the game changer here was the mint. Gave it such a refreshingly cool after taste. This is the spot if you want a cheap, delicious made to order grilled sandwich. A depanneur and diner all in one combo.

My mechanic suggests I wait the hour at "a cool dep/café down the street". Dubious about what "cool" means to him.... Well Hello Dolly!!! Hello Twilight Zone Pit-stop Heaven! Vintage dépanneur with diner counter & sweet terrace. Understated, wholesome neighbourhood secret sweet spot. Good people, doing good things, in a great way.

At around 3-4am, after a long day & night of drinking and enjoying as much of Montréal as I can, my needs become pretty simple... large pizza, small poutine, and a cold beer before passing out for the night. This shop covers them... well after a certain hour they have to lock the alcohol coolers, so we usually plan ahead and pick some up in the morning/afternoon. But as far as the pizza & poutine, they have me covered. One of the cooler things about this place for me is that the owner, who's always running the show behind the counter, always remembers me. Now I don't mean he vaguely recognizes my face and acts like a polite business owner... but the guy actually knows my name and what I'm gonna order. Now if I were in there every week ordering up pizza & poutine, not only would I have an extra 100lbs on me, but I would also find him treating me like a regular less amazing. But this guy must see a few dozen drunken animals every night, especially on the weekends, in his business. Yet he remembers the name and the order of someone who only walked in to his place 4 times over the past year. That gets a "pretty cool" in my book. As I'm sure you can figure out, the food isn't on the gourmet side, but like I said, at 3-4am it does the trick for late night eats in the downtown area.

The fries were fine, but the cheese was just bad - looked like they ran out of the real cheese curds and just dropped in grated cheddar instead, The thing should be called cheese fries (similar to what that call that in the USA). Maybe this was one off, but very surprising to have a place in Montreal not stock on real cheese curds. Go for the soda or cigarettes, but avoid the poutine here unless you take a look beforehand at the cheese they are going to drop in. The gravy was also strange, many other better poutine places abound in Montreal, so skip this one.

We live nearby and used to go here quite often since opening. Unfortunately I would strongly recommend that you skip this couche tard and go to either a dep nearby or to provigo across the street as this is a health hazard. We used to buy hot dogs, milk, bread etc there and we've gotten sick a few times. They sell hot dogs packs several weeks past their best by date. I got sick after cooking hot dogs we bought at this location, only to realize the best by date was over a week before we made the purchase (my fault for not checking in the store right away!!). We never had this issue in other stores nearby. No issues with the eggs or milk, but the sliced bread we got here just a few weeks ago, which was supposedly good until a few days later, started developing mold the next day. Before the best by date. I'm not sure this is intended, but I definitely think some food items are not properly stored at this couche tard location, and this could eventually make someone very sick. It seems they're not checking best by dates of items they sell either Avoid until fixed. Unless you wanna get sick

It's the network of government-run liquor stores in Quebec. It manages the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages across the province and operates its own retail stores. We were fortunate enough to win a gift card to SAQ at a charity event last week, so one of our final visits in Montreal was to walk over to this small store at the Place D'Armes and pick up whatever we could for our C$50 prize. Although the store wasn't very large it was very neat and fully stocked, with prices clearly marked for every bottle and can in the store. One of their sales associates was very friendly and helped us find what we were looking for. I'm a big Bloody Mary fan, and from previous trips to Canada knew that "Bloody Caesars" are favored up here. The differ from a Bloody Mary by using Clamato juice instead of a tomato juice base. So, when I saw a shelf with plenty of Clamato choices, I knew one would be coming home with me. I selected a 16 ounce can of Clamato Caesar "With the Works" (Le Tour Garni) with extra spices, seasonings, hot sauce and horseradish (C$3.80). We rounded out our purchase with a bottle of Cliff 79 Shiraz (C$11.75), a bottle of Folonari Pinot Grigio (C$14.95), a bottle of Casa Santos Sangria (C$12.45), and a nifty little branded tote bag for (C$2.95). The only down note of our visit concerned a bottle of SIVO blueberry liqueur I had hoped to buy. I had some at a social function on Thursday night and liked it so much I took a photo of the bottle. When I showed the photo to the sales associate, he not only told me they didn't carry it, but he also told me it was just syrup, and not alcoholic. He said any grocery store would have it. I learned that he was wrong, it is an alcoholic product made in a Canadian distillery.
