Real Deep Tissue Massage, but still with a gentle touch. I've had chronic neck/back problems for 5+ years and have tried a number of different therapy methods. I don't know if it's just me, but 'deep tissue' massages that I have received from numerous therapist feels like a spa massage- not therapy for my chronic issues. I don't know if it's because they think I'm fragile and can't endure 'deep tissue' or if the therapist is incapable of doing so. I first met Jerome at my chiropractor's office, and for the first time ever (after a few sessions) I had full body relief that lasted for months!! Unfortunately, by the time I needed another session with Jerome, he had moved on and the chiropractor office wouldn't give me his info so I could look for him. When I scheduled my first appointment with Deep Tissue Massage, I didn't realize it was Jerome until I was already on the table and experienced déjà vu when I recognized his voice while I was face down. I was so excited that I found 'my guy', the moment I got home I literally did a happy dance. Normally in a massage session, I would try to hold in any big reactions to see if the therapist responds to my reactions or to the issues really going on in my body. Jerome surprises me every session by finding issues that I didn't even know existed and massaging areas that I wouldn't think would help, but to my surprise gives me a lot of relief. If you've had issues trying to find a therapist who can do 'deep tissue' I highly recommend Jerome from Deep Tissue Massage. Jerome's home studio is nice, clean & relaxing. Even the gardens out front are beautiful & the effort he has spent on them help show his overall attention to detail. I've been seeing Jerome off and on for several years. He works the knots out with expert hands (and elbows) and sometimes uses Thai-massage like stretches to ease up any places that are sore. Now let's get to the good stuff - I like a deep massage, not a relaxing wimpy spa massage. I do a lot of athletic pursuits, especially aerial, contortion, and yoga. When I'm sore, I need someone to really work the pain out of me! Sometimes I even come up with a weird idea, like the time I read that ballet dancers have their masseuses/physical therapists separate their hamstring muscles from each other (there are four muscles that make up the hamstrings) in order to gain more height in their kicks, and depth in their splits. Jerome's totally game every time! Even when I ask for the weird stuff. After that hamstring idea I had, he used his thumbs to separate the fascial connections between each of the hamstring muscles... I was swollen, sore & bruised the next day, but three days later I tried my splits and I had gained inches. That was, of course, quite an unusual experience - but I got what I had asked for - normally I come out of a massage with Jerome feeling relaxed, loose, and very happy. He listens well, shares a lot of the same interests as me (gardening, mental/physical wellness, chickens...) and is generally fun to be around. Highly recommend! read more

Jerome is absolutely amazing. I went with a friend and we split a 75 minute session. After having just half a typical session, my entire body relaxed. My muscles felt less tense, and I had much more energy afterward for the rest of the day. Jerome is highly skilled, very professional, and was able to gauge exactly the type of stretches that my body needed in order to relieve tension. Furthermore, his enthusiasm for his practice, and the intensity and focus he presented in our session was world class. I came to see Jerome because I was injured in an auto accident on 405 and was hit at 50 mph while I was stopped. I was in severe pain at the base of my head and upper back and I have a physically demanding job. I saw him more frequently in the beginning but within a month I was only coming once a week and then once every other week. I have been getting deep tissue massage for a long time and I have to say that having Jerome as my massage therapist was incredible. I have chronic issues that he was able to identify and help release my pain in one session. Jerome is very knowledgeable and professional. I just left my first appointment. I arrived with low back spasms and a very awkward gait. We spent most of the hour stretching to loosen everything up. He also used cupping and then a bit of deep tissue. After the hour I feel much more mobile and hopeful that I will return to normal soon. I'm looking forward to getting back on my feet to enjoy a full deep tissue massage. Ironically my husband drove me to my first appointment to make sure I felt comfortable and ended up wanting to book his own appointment. After 50 years of bone disease and a looming second knee replacement , I was in a desperate place of pain, weakness and frustration. I knew I didn't want a repeat of the replacement process of the other knee 8 years ago: at 6 weeks I was still on crutches and it took two years to feel better than before surgery. So in February I ended up on Jerome's table, hoping I'd found someone to help. It quickly became obvious that this wasn't going to be like any massage or therapy experience I'd ever had, and I was able to move more easily even days after that first session. I went through a few weeks of pre-hab with Jerome and before surgery was walking better than I had in over a year. Now almost 8 weeks after knee replacement the improvements have only increased: I am stronger and my gait is improved so much that my back and shoulders are pain free (Who knew they were all connected?). Today I was able to walk over 4km. Last summer I was unable to walk even 500m so I am thrilled. Best of all the work he has done has allowed me to trust my body's movements and I'm freer to try things I haven't done in a very long time. Thanks Jerome! Active Isolated Stretching and the mastery of Jerome has changed and is changing my life. Jerome is not just skilled at sports rehabilitative massage, he is emotionally  intelligent and has the natural talent to read the body like Braille. He seems to know when to use the stretching and when to utilize deep tissue. I am managing several physical and neurological issues. I have been to many specialists over the years and unfortunately was only ever directed to a psychiatrist and told that debilitating chronic pain was my new normal. Weekly sessions with Jerome over the last nine months is changing that and has been such a positive holistic experience that I cannot articulate the myriad of micro improvements. The improvements are subtle and slow coming but are measurable and objectively noticed. The neurological issues, cold sensitivity, and chronic pain is not going away. It was a verry diffrent experience, the deep tissue work, his voice is verry calming, an he walks you through the process, you get to help, (kinda like challange yourself) I'd suggest take some water, an back up water, wear comfortable clothing, you can twist, and turn in.
